Ex-Mr. Universe Calum von Moger revealed in a series of online posts before he jumped out a window that his life had gone “off the rails” — amid two arrests and the death of his “best friend’’ dog and a pet lizard. The drama of the 31-year-old bodybuilder’s recent years — which also included a house nearly burning down and an alleged road-rage incident — emerged amid encouraging reports that he would pull through his May 6 apparent suicide attempt. Steve Greenberg, a rep for Moger’s management company, told news.com.au Thursday that the bodybuilder was in stable condition after surgery on his spine. Moger — who played Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 2018 film “Bigger” and was widely dubbed “Arnie 2.0” — had been arrested twice this year before his near-fatal leap, which came just days after a court date for the alleged road-rage incident. Moger was busted for allegedly chasing down a driver and threatening him with a machete in a road-rage fight in Melbourne. He was also separately arrested for possession of drugs — including cannabis, testosterone, methamphetamine and Viaplex, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction, according to The Age. Just weeks before his terrifying second-floor window leap, Moger appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court by video link on the drug charges, as he had for the earlier alleged road-rage incident. He was not required to enter a plea, as his case was adjourned until May 26. Moger had previously hinted at the legal troubles on his popular social media channels — including one workout video he captioned, “Life behind bars lolz.” He set a more somber tone March 30 — two days after his court appearance — in which he addressed “hard times. “I admit, I messed up bad many times,” he wrote in the Instagram posting — amid rumors that he’d also been kicked out by his family. But other online postings also continued to focus on what he called “the worst thing that ever happened” to him — the death of his bull terrier, Rex, who choked on a chip while they were staying in Texas. “I’ve never felt so crushed, defeated, everything,” Moger admitted in a YouTube video announcing the tragedy, which came days after he also lost a pet lizard, Baz. Calling it “the worst nightmare of my life,” he said Rex’s death “completely destroyed” him and sent him “off the rails,” admitting he “lost” himself in the pain. “I don’t eat. I don’t sleep. I don’t train,” he said in an Instagram post at the time, claiming the double deaths of his pets had “completely destroyed me.” He admitted to randomly breaking down in tears in public at the memory of losing “the best companion. One of his last posts was a photo marking the anniversary of Rex’s death, writing, “Not a day goes by I don’t think of him.” Even before that, Moger had regularly detailed crushing setbacks in his life, including a series of serious injuries that almost derailed his career. They included a rock-climbing accident captured in the Netflix special about him, “Unbroken.” The documentary also showed him talking about almost losing his California home to a wildfire, saying he was only worried about the safety of his lizard and dog. “That was a pretty big scare,” he said. Moger also found himself facing a flurry of criticism from other lifters when he openly admitted taking steroids to get his Arnie-like physique. Calling the “underground topic” one he “never thought I’d talk about,” he told all two years ago in a YouTube video, saying he felt he needed the illicit drugs to realize his dream of winning Mr. Universe, which he ultimately won three times. When I was in college I worked for the NYPost dropping off bundles of papers to the paperboys and handling a route myself. One weekday afternoon (1984ish) I was delivering in an apartment building. There weren't a lot of people around because it was during business hours. One of my customer's neighbors had a small package lying in front of his door and I don't know why, but I took it. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and found a gay skin mag and 2 video tapes, including The Bigger The Better, one of the all-time gay porn classics. Just to show my contrition at my bad deed, there was a credit card receipt included with the card #, and I used it to order dirty greeting cards, which I had sent to my friend at her work, where she was the receptionist and handled the (small) company's mail. Fireballing rookie Hunter Greene held the Pirates hitless through 7 1/3 when they removed him after 118 pitches after he'd given up his 4th & 5th walks. The reliever let in a run without a hit, and Greene got the loss. He joined Mr. Upton and Nasty Nestor Cortes in going 7 1/3 hitless in the past week. With a TJ surgery in his past, I'm shocked they left him in for so long. I thought he'd be out after 6 (93 pitches) or 7 (103). Resurgent veteran Jose Quintana shut out the Reds through 7 in that game. To add insult to injury for the Reds, it's not even an official no-hitter because they were the road team and only threw 8 innings. BTW, 2 singles in 7 shutout innings for Nasty Nestor (the 2022 AL Cy Young co-favorite - w/ Mr. Upton - at this point?), then a solo HR in the 8th to balloon his ERA to 1.35. His first time ever completing 8. The Yankees NEVER score for Jordan Montgomery. This happened all of last season, too. They scored 25 runs TH/F, then didn't score until the 8th & wound up with 2 in Montgomery's start yesterday. They've scored 16 runs in his 7 starts. His outings are usually short, as the games are tight and the Yanks have a terrific pen, but he's been quite good overall. They are 2-5 in his starts, 23-4 in everyone else's. The top 2 hitters in Miami's lineup today are named Jesus (Sanchez, Aguilar). Are they trying to court favor with the man upstairs? BTW, they put Jesus Lazaro on the IL today with a forearm strain. Here we go again... A Louisiana security officer is suspected of helping three teen inmates escape from a youth detention center Saturday. The Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified shortly before 7 a.m. that the three inmates, all serving time for felonies, broke out of the Ware Youth Detention Center in Coushatta. “Oncoming day shift employees discovered that three male juvenile residents, with help from a female WYC security guard, had escaped the juvenile detention facility approximately four hours earlier,” the Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook. The post said that video surveillance captured security guard Victoria Tune, 21, driving the three teens from the detention center in a white 2010 Pontiac G6 with a Louisiana license plate and a missing rear bumper. The escapees are TyJuan Lafitte, 17, serving time for first-degree attempted murder; Jeremiah Durham, 17, serving time for armed robbery, and 15-year-old Na’Varaya Lane, for attempted second-degree murder. All three were wearing orange jumpsuits when they fled. The direction they traveled was not clear. A warrant was issued for Tune in connection with the escape. “For people who are close to Tori, know that this is completely out of character for her,” a woman named Amber Tilly wrote in response to the sheriff’s post. “Instead of jumping to conclusions so quickly, give the authorities and the families who are involved enough time to gather all the facts. I grew up with her so I’m very confident when I say that this is very out of character for her.” You know, I'm surprised, because usually in these cases people who knew the suspects say things like, "Yeah, in high school she was voted most likely to help an inmate escape..."

3 commercial breaks, widely spaced. They didn't bother me. I looked up Chalamet on Wikipedia afterward and saw that he'd been in an episode of LAW & ORDER and from its year I realized he'd have been 13 at the time. I looked it up on Imdb.com and when I read the description I immediately knew the episode. It's an interesting one I've watched several times in syndication over the years. There were only 2 boys in it. I looked up which one he played (though I was pretty sure). He (and the housekeeper) were killed before the opening credits. The housekeeper was collateral damage.
