Before posting on here I did check rental one way and almost died, just over $600. I'm leaning more towards flying from Lisbon and if the fancy strikes rent a car for a day or two and go out of the city if public transit doesnt work to my liking. Im not sure if I'll be working in either city. The language barrier might be a bit much although I'm going to start Portuguese lessons so I hopefully have a working knowledge of the language. I just looked at average temps for Madrid in Jan and for me its light coat weather. I live in Chicago and dont breat out the heavy winter coat till it dips down into the 20s. I for sure plan on bringing an empty tummy, especially for Portugal and the fresh seafood! Hugs, Greg

January 2020 I will be going to Lisbon for a week and then Madrid. I'm debating on renting a car. The cost of the tollway and gas and then how hard it might be to drive around Madrid worries me. I'm trying to plan a non working trip to Honduras this Spring. My goal, see and explore a ghetto for a couple of days. I want to interact with the locals. I know I've been called crazy for this but it's something I need to do. Any suggestions on who to get ahold of? It doesn't necessarily need to be San Pedro Sula. My dates aren't firm cause of stuff at the day job so I could be looking Spring or early Summer. Hugs, Greg

I was just in Mexico for a couple of days in Tijuana. At no time did I feel I was in danger. I spent some time at the stadium that the caravan was at (pics and video in my IG link) and other parts of town and at no time did I feel I was in danger. Why? Because I wasnt flashy with my clothes or electronics and when I interacted with people I was polite and humble. Seems that usually when tourists get into trouble is because they're drunk, stupid and cocky. And those I feel no sympathy for. On a happy note, I'm looking forward to my next trip to mi tierra Mexico and then Guatemala and Honduras this Spring. Hugs, Greg
