I have several pages of those recipes from that site open in my tablet browser. I've tried a couple of the cookie ones, with mixed success. Been trying to make something healthy for SOs breakfast so she won't buy a chocolate muffin at the deli on the way to the subway.

I like to make black bean soup in the cooker. I use it as a pressure cooker so it cooks up fast. SO loves it, but I don't make it enough. Hm, now I'm hungry, dammit.

I love all kinds of junk food (especially sweets) but to control what I eat I don't bring them in the apartment, if I can help it. I keep three jars on the counter...one with unsalted roasted almonds, one with raw walnuts, and one with plain popcorn for popping when we watch movies. One of my favorite things is to make a protein shake with a dish of almonds and walnuts on the side.

Well, the title of this thread is missing either a " 's " or a capital "W". After seeing all the pics of cucumbers, I'm going to go with the 's.

Yea, we're the same. If I could, I wouldn't use cash at all on trips (well, anywhere) since we get so much value out of points/miles for flights and hotel rooms.

As far as travel notifications are concerned, I agree they don't seem to be needed as much. I've gotten notices from at least two of the companies (one I tried to notify and they said I didn't need to) and the reason being was that they can tell from my bookings where I am (creepy, lol). When it comes to Amex usage when overseas, we did Spain and Portugal in '21 and I was watching to see how man restaurants would take Amex...very few, especially in Portugal. With them it was Visa or Mastercard only. Interestingly, Bavaria in '22 was similar but I was surprised at the number of places that didn't take credit cards at all. We went to ATMs a lot more than I have on other trips recently, which I thought wouldn't be the case in Germany.

Gotcha. I've been doing the 3-month T-bill thing for while...at least since last summer (though probably winter). My last buy was at an effective yield of about 4.5%.

Are you buying these all in your name? If that's the case you've already hit your limit for buying them online this year unless you have some tax refund money that you can buy some up to $5000 for a physical bond. And why would you wait until April to buy a 3 month treasury bill? Why not buy one now and when it matures in April, do it again? I don't understand her reasoning of waiting...if you have the money in hand now.

I only take the amount of cash (and my metro card + $5 backup) with me that I need to see the provider. So, I need to know the fee before I even leave home. After the first time with this guy, I'd have been done. Also, I think a warning to others in the massage section would be appropriate.

The last movie I saw in a theater was 'Day After Tomorrow' with a friend who really wanted to see it...so it's been a while. I haven't been since then cuz several people (including one next to us) kept using their phones and those screens are BRIGHT in a dark theater. We have an HDTV and 5.1 stereo system at home so the quality is great and we don't need theaters. Plus, as far as this thread, length don't matter since we pause for bathroom and popcorn breaks.

I remember that previous thread and took him off my list as a consequence. Since he is travelling, even if you go to his hotel, I would assume it would be for his outcall rate ($250)?

Not us, we've already bought our gift bonds (all at the 9.6ish% rate) back in the summer that will take us through 2024. Not knowing how bond yields will go after that, I'm not going to buy any more.

Huh. In a previous thread about him I thought he was in theater here in the city, more like a dancer type. Maybe I misread or he's completely changed his career.
