Payments probably depend on the person and their money culture.
 
I usually hand them the money neatly folded in hand. Never had anyone count it in front of me. One guy had to special paper weight for the money. Also since some take CCs, they have to present you with the app so you can swipe. Then the guys who use Cash App or PayPal. It can really vary.

This is a valid point, but I've also noticed that some masseurs can become sheepish about the more transactional aspects of the trade. For example, I've come across enough masseurs who chafe at being handed the payment that I always just place it on a surface in plain view once the massage is done and I've gotten dressed. Or they'll suddenly become cutesy and aloof ("Oh, is this for me?"). I find the lack of straightforwardness about the transactional nature of the experience to be an annoyance, and I wonder if any masseurs on here have insight on that.

Even if it's going to be a purely therapeutic session. Please be mindful that your ass crack can get ripe and funky. Please be respectful of your masseur and don't present yourself with a foul aromatherapy experience. After all your ass is squarely pointed UP for half the time

If need to cancel notify well in advance.
 
Be brief and corteus when communicating with the masseur via text or phone.
 
This is a business transaction, treat it as such. The masseur is not your friend. At least not after the first few sessions. His job is to be friendly a make you feel welcomed. Do not text him if is not for scheduling or asking about his services.

At home or when traveling, make sure you have a decent sound system for your music. A Bluetooth speaker goes a long way versus a tinny cell phone speaker.
 
Also don't text or check your phone with a client. We can tell.
 
Make sure you have used the bathroom before starting the session. I have had guys exit to pee before I understand nature calls but try to do everything to reduce the chance that you'll have to break pause the session. It's awkward lying on the table face down, naked, and and oiled up with nothing happening.
 
Don't short people on their time and give yourself enough of a buffer between clients. If I hire you for 90 min that's for the massage. Not from the second I walk into the door. Allowing a buffer is good because 1 the massage could escalate to something more and if you have an appointment later, you want to give yourself enough time to to give that client a good massage as well.
 
I'm flexible and always ask if a masseur is available after ☓ time for Y minutes. So that way I can work around them. Usually I'll try to be the last client or the first on an slow day which means it's likely to be a very fun massage. So be flexible and offer alternative times that will work if there is a conflict.
 
A few of the masseurs I have used have sworn by Biotone as a brand. I really like when they use almond oil. It feels really good and not super greasy and doesn't stain. Also warming it up a little feels awesome.
 
Always have cold water and maybe some candy for when people leave.
 
I'm OK with being contacted after the massage but a lot of guys don't like this. Especially if they are trying to be discreet. So consider that if you reach out after the sale. At least ask if it's OK to text them later before doing so. I used to have a guy sending me half nude photos and texts about specials over 6 months after I hired him. They always came at inappropriate times. And if you do contact at least make sure the text doesn't read like you're begging and on the verge of eviction.

Do you reveal your race to your masseurs or escorts when booking?
 
I'm Asian American and admittedly a little neurotic about how my race is perceived in the gay community after years of experiencing tons of negativity.
 
I'm in my 30s and in decent shape, which I don't disclose because I feel that's "acceptable." But I always disclose my background, usually in the form of "I'm Asian, is that okay?" For the record, no one has ever said no, but in hook-up situations (which I know these aren't), I always reveal it right off the bat. I also don't respond to say, a Craigslist ad or Grindr post unless they specifically say "seeking Asians" (I don't even reply to ads that say "open to race").
 
I've just read/experienced instances where guys thought an Asian guy was Caucasian and felt "tricked." I have an equally neurotic fear of rejection (especially based on race) which is why I always disclose.
 
I disclosed to the last masseur while booking, and he asked why I did it and thought it was "weird." But then again I just read a thread here about a local masseur who reportedly doesn't serve Asians. It would be my biggest nightmare if I booked him and he rejected me after opening the door.

Just ask the masseur what their definition and understanding of those words mean. They are different to different people. Just ask and then you'll know. You can ask it discreetly without being blunt or say "I understand if you would rather answer in person."
 
Sensual could just be HE at the end or sensual strokes throughout and no HE or etc. Erotic could be them just being nude and HE at the end or them nude, copulation and MT with HE for all involved.

My baseline is that I can get excellent therapeutic massage at a chiropractor's office next door for $80 an hour.
 
My thing is that I like to feel comfortable and not worry about getting one of my very frequent erections AND I absolutely need to have my glutes taken care of because I run and do weights, so you can imagine how these two needs are correlated. The best way to keep me relaxed and comfortable is if the masseur is willing to be naked with me as well, to level the playing field so to speak. I'll pay $120 for a competent masseur willing to do all that and $140 if he is really hot. I go for 90 minute sessions, so this usually ends up being in the $150-$200 range.
 
I am not into sexual escorty stuff anyway but if the guy is hot and there is chemistry some mutual touching and teasing is a super nice way to complete the session, and here I am willing to go up to $160 but prefer to keep it at $140-$150 (so $200-$220 for 90 minutes). I don't know why people immediately jump to comparisons with escorts, to me, this is more like a Montreal stripper experience element, you see a hot guy and you get to touch him a little, that's all, no oral or anal sex.
 
Now, the problem arises with guys who see this gig as an easy way to make money, especially if they are straight, which often makes them act as if they were doing you some kind of favor. A guy with (1) no or low massage skills and (2) unwilling to get naked is a total ripoff at any price level no matter how hot he is. A hot guy with one of the two issues is a rip off at any price above $100, but I wouldn't hire him even if he charged less than $100 because of my basic option listed above.
 
In any case, it is remarkable how many of the listings on masseurfinder and rentmasseur fall into this "let's make some easy money" category. So be ready for the most likely outcome of a "meh" experience when you hire a new masseur, sad but true. Especially if you get no recommendation from this forum, but keep in mind that you still may end up unhappy even after receiving assurances from some of the members here ;-)

I have had three experiences where things went beyond just a massage.
 
For Me these times just were about chemistry. I have a rugby power lifted like build so I'm not typically most guys' type. I also wasn't expecting anything more than a massage but as a fully grown adult, if two people are attracted to each other then what's the harm if things escalated? Since one particular time with one particular masseur, it hasn't gone way beyond the massage since that one time I still don't expect it to but if it ever does again, great.
 
So all of that to say I put that ball in their court. I wouldn't hire a masseur on the hope it lead to more than that. However if they have RM a profile in addition to MF or MM4M profiles, it's likely it can go beyond massage if you ask.

That sounds like human trafficking, which is what FOSTA is trying to squelch. I know a lot of people on here are down on the changes to websites but trafficking is a serious problem that is happening under our noses all over the country. I’m no expert on this - just a concerned citizen - but we should all become more attuned to the signs and do what we can to avoid supporting suspected offenders.

Yeah I'm really not understanding prices pushing well over 100 an hour for just basic massage. That actually comes off like something else more would happen. And those with 30 minute massages seem like a waste of an offer when it would that long to get to some of them with traffic. Lol
