@Cannon , I don't think many masseurs use this forum. Your best bet would be to first check the listings for Palm Springs on Rentmasseur.....Masseurfinder...and MassageM4M. See how many listings there are in that area, and what the competition is. Then call a few of the masseurs and ask the questions you asked here. You might find a friendly masseur willing to fill you in on the massage business opportunities in Palm Springs. Good luck!

My predication would be that being on Yelp mostly reviewed by women....and the overall tone of his massage website....that it was, and always will be, strictly therapeutic. If you ask Joe Strunk if he offers extras, I am sure he thinks you are referring to aromatherapy, hot stone therapy, etc. He would probably freak out knowing he is being discussed ( and lusted after by some) like this in a gay massage forum, and the extras we are hoping he offers are nude massage, mutual touching, oral, and a happy ending.

I always use this simple way to remember : A male massage therapist is a Masseur ( as in SIR = male).......a female massage therapist is a Masseuse. So when I forget, I just think of the male word...SIR....and right away I remember a male massage therapist is a Masseur (SIR). It has helped me many times when I forget the difference between the two.

There is a masseur named Jay that advertises on all the major gay massage sites. He looked interesting. He has a website, so I visited it to get more info on him. It is www.jayplayboy.com . On his website he has a "Wish List" Some of these guys are out of touch with reality! Check out the website. Click on his "Wish List".....it is located on the bottom of his website. I could not stop laughing! He honestly thinks someone is going to buy him a 3 million dollar home or a Tesla?? Seriously? Best laugh I had all day!

@Capitano , I agree with EVERYTHING you said. If I schedule a masseur to do an outcall to my place, either my home or hotel, I expect them to be on time, if not at least a few minutes early to set everything up. I have had situations such as the ones you described. But I take NO excuses, such as the example you gave about the masseur giving you 5 minutes notice that he would be 45 minutes late since he was going to get something to eat. I would have texted back..." No. Show up at our scheduled time or don't show up at all" All our time is valuable, so any insane excuses don't pass it with me. If they text me bullshit excuses and are going to be late....I just text them back....tell them not to come....and I move on. I have NO time for incompetent masseurs.

@maninsoma , that's what I was saying. Things are going from bad to worse on these massage sites. I really, really miss the pre-Rentboy bust days....that is what started all this

@bencleve29 ...glad you posted this. I also leave reviews on MF when I have a great experience. Last week I also logged in to post a review. I have no Facebook account. MF said I could post the review thru my Facebook account, but only if my Facebook account had a phone number or credit card number that they could verify, and they would NEVER use either for my discretion. Their reason of course is to prevent fake reviews, which is a good thing. But it also discourages us who post REAL reviews from posting reviews at all, since there are to many hoops to jump thru. This whole massage business is getting so fucking complicated. Masseurs on M4M cannot post shirtless photos and M4M is useless now. Both M4M and MF do not allow any PG, R, or X rated ad text anymore....so we never know what we are getting in the massage, as far as mutual touch, HE, etc. I miss the days when you could just cruise the ads on any massage site....see shirtless and naked pics of the masseur.....read their R and X rated massage description....and know what you were getting. And now even posting reviews is becoming a hassle. And yes, I know this forum is helpful and I respect that. But I also miss the days when I could just go to the massage sites and see what I was getting, when now everyone is dressed, no nudity, and the ad text tells you nothing and is sanitized. I miss the old days (which was only 2 years ago) when the masseur could post ANYTHING, pics or text, on these massage sites.

Additional tips: 1) KEEP your appointments with your clients. We juggle our schedules to keep our appointments with you. You do the same. I have lost count of masseurs who text me an hour before to cancel with a lame, transparent excuse....such as " I need to cancel your session. An emergency has come up." I am not stupid. I know the "emergency" is either they have another client that wants to book a longer session for more money.....or they are going out with friends for dinner. Flaky does not work to keep clients. 2) Do NOT text during the session. Yes, many times I am aware that my masseur will be texting other clients with one hand while massaging me with the other. (?) This leads to #3 3) Be PRESENT for your client during the massage. You are there for HIM. Don't watch the clock, text other clients, or give the impression you want to be somewhere else. I had a massage last night where the masseur was telling me during the massage how hungry he was and he could not wait till the massage was over so he could go get a pizza (?) That is insulting. It does not make you feel the love. We are paying good money for these guys (to much money, in my opinion), and need professional, stable masseurs, not flakes. And if you are a professional, stable masseur you will have us as a regular, which is where the real money is. Your bread and butter is your regular, steady client base.

@Nakedchi , how did you come across his ad? On a gay massage site? I looked at his Yelp reviews and it appears 90% of his Yelp reviews are written by women. Not that it matters. Just an observation that the majority of his clients seem to be female, so just curious where you found him.

I think the majority of straight guys who do gay male massage are doing it for the money. Who would not want to make $120-$150/hr? I also think a part of it is ego....whether it is a woman or a man thinking they are attractive, it strokes their ego....plus they get paid very well. From my "straight" masseurs.....and from my hook ups with guys who said they are "straight" I have heard it all. It has been all over the map. Some say they like having sex with men but are not gay. Some say they like having sex with men, but it is only physical and they could never fall in love with a guy. Some say things such as you mentioned...they find a cock fascinating and it stops there. There are SO many different flavors of these guys I stopped trying to figure them all out. All I know is that I respect whatever they tell me and don't argue or convince them they are really gay and don't know it. If a masseur promises me something on the phone....and when the massage begins does not provide what he agreed to ....that is just plain wrong. And to make it even worse, to say he will not provide it (even though on the phone he agreed to it) because "old guys" try sexual things on him is insulting to anyone over 25 years old. Being a "nice guy" does not allow you to not provide the service you promised and blame it on "old guys." And on top of this to charge $180 for just a massage keeping your shorts on? Dude does not seem cool to me, and his price seems WAY high for what he offers. Being "nice" does not trump going back on your word and blaming it on "old guys"

His ad now says $130/hr......mutual touch and HE is $100 more. $230 for a 1 hr. massage with mutual touch and HE? Aren't escort rates ( body contact,oral,and full on sex) about $250/hr? I might be out of the loop here, but I think paying this guy $230/hr for just a one hour massage and HE and you get to touch him... wow, actually TOUCH him!..(sarcastic comment here) is insane.

If you scroll to the bottom of his ad page it says he has been on M4M since May 13, 2017.......so around 5 months advertising on M4M with over 4,000 views. He looks interesting to me!

If I book with a masseur or an escort, and have to cancel last minute ( I consider that a same day cancellation)......for whatever reason ( bad traffic, have a cold, stuck at work, etc)....then I ALWAYS offer them 50% of their rate, and will pay it online if they have Paypal or take credit cards. I do this out of respect. These guys don't do this type of work as a hobby, since they have nothing else to do. This is their JOB. It is how they pay their bills, pay their rent, etc. If I cancel the same day, they have already turned clients away for my time slot and might not be able to fill it. It is not their fault....it is mine, since I cancelled.....they did not cancel, they were all ready for me. If we want to be treated with respect, we need to treat these guys with respect.

Karl offers outcalls. If the neighborhood is an issue for anyone, then just have Karl provide an outcall to your location at your home or hotel. Problem solved.

On Romeo's reviews there is a common thread. The word "pleasant" is used in a few. (who the hell says a massage is "pleasant"?? especially in more than one review?) Many of the other reviews urge you to go see him. Almost written like a paid endorsement. After reading a few I can tell the same person wrote them.....and that person is Romeo. I will say that I have chosen masseurs based on MF reviews who have a different flavor in each review, and the masseur turned out to be great. @chasingfun ....In order to give you feedback can you let us know the type of massage ad you answered? From the appearance of the ad, did the masseur come across in his photos (shirtless, totally clothed) and ad text as provocative or strictly therapeutic? Was his massage on MF under "Heal" or "Relax"? Was the price on the high end....$150-$180/hr......or low end .....$85-$110/hr? Give a little more info on the tone of his overall ad and we can zero in on the type of masseur and type of massage you can expect.

We were on the phone 15 minutes and I had to end the phone call since he was yammering so much. I read all the bad experiences in this post, but I really feel the guy has mental health issues.

I would avoid these guys for one reason: their reviews in their MF ad. Their reviews are SO badly written (broken english, etc) and posted SO close together that you have ONE guess who wrote them. Read them and see for yourself. I am a firm believer that when the masseur so obviously writes their own reviews they can't be trusted in other areas of their massage business. The fact these guys wrote ALL their own reviews is a MAJOR turn off for me.

Jay says in his headline " 48 Five Star Reviews In 6 Months" No one gets that many reviews in 6 months, unless the masseur writes them and posts them.....If that ain't a red flag to avoid him, I don't know what is

@niceandthick , I read your post and was speechless! I had to re-read it to make sure I was reading it correctly. He insulted the other massage therapist who responded to you that you booked with.....called you rude....and then called you an asshole? This guy is NUTS! I would NEVER be tempted to even look at his ad again. If he is like this in this situation, I can only imagine how the massage interaction would be. I would stay FAR away from this guy.
