Yeah when it comes to booking NYC-based providers (or visiting providers) it'll be tough to find one that will travel outside of Manhattan. Like someone mentioned, to many Manhattan = NYC. It's not car friendly and the subway is very inconsistent with shut downs, delays, weekend construction etc. I'm regularly over there and I have family in L.I. and deep in Queens, I haven't seen any of them in years because I'm just lazy and refuse to do that travelling. I have my residence in Brooklyn and whenever I'm in town I don't bother booking an outcall. I just get a hotel in Manhattan and host the provider there. A person living/staying in Manhattan would rather be social, find fun locally vs. travelling to another borough....even if its a 30-40 min train ride. It's the same thing here in Montreal and Toronto. Even though both cities are a bit more open, spaced out, and better for cars, most providers here are based downtown and aren't looking to leave that radius. Its not like Los Angeles where you need a car to get around and providers are open to moving around. I've always said for NYC and Toronto, if you've been raised downtown or live downtown, everything outside of it is "far." If you've been raised or live in the suburbs/outer boroughs, then nothing is too "far" since you're used to long commutes or drive often.
