Seriously?! $375 for a 90 minute appointment, $250 for one hour. Wouldn't we all like to work 10 hours a week and still earn over $125k in income that is, I suspect, taxed very lightly if at all?

It is now my firm policy to cancel the appointment if someone else shows up. No matter how much I want the massage and even if the replacement is pretty hot. Sorry, that shit just isn't unacceptable. I think there is some kind of Eastern European scam going on, in which some sort of pimp is who you text and there is a whole bunch of guys that actually show up, and they all use just one ad on RM or MF, often with a totally fake pic that doesn't correspond to any of the guys. No, thanks! I don't even see how I could relax and enjoy the massage that's so shady from the get-go.

I was decidedly disappointed with Alex/Olexandrr, one of those "now you can finish yourself" guys, a total vibe killer for me, I prefer no attempts at "sensuality" over something as lame as that. Thinking back to my DC trip, I was underwhelmed by the choice of masseurs too.

My point, and something that is referenced in multiple posts above is that he DOES NOT GET NAKED. Actually, I don't mind spending even more than $160, which is already high end btw, but the experience better be satisfying. From what I remember, he demanded payment upfront when he visited Chicago, like "leave the money on that table over there." There was also someone else in the apartment during the massage, which felt awkward. Pretty good massage, though, nude from what I remember, but I wasn't up for interaction, nor was he really into it, that whole start killed the vibe. WOW, I do think it's extremely rude and inappropriate to try to finger or blow a masseur, it's a massage and not a sexual encounter. If one wants that level of interaction, one should negotiate that with an escort. And if one wants that with a masseur, one better be careful to obtain a very explicit consent. However, if a couple of "old guys" did that in the past, why presume all new clients guilty as well? Why not just make sure these are off limits by clearly spelling it out (something like "I know you probably won't do this but I had these bad experiences in the past... so these things are a clear NO") rather than withhold nude service, especially if it was promised beforehand? And especially if one charges that kind of rate. I can get excellent massage, not just adequate, for $80-100 an hour, so I'd be pissed off too.

He had an ad on rentmasseur but it expired, was listing all 3 types of massage there. Going to NYC in March (this is why I found him on rentmasseur, was browsing), definitely on my list of potential new masseurs to try, in addition to revisiting one of my old favorites. Oh Gawd! I once wanted to try his massage and made the mistake of texting him to ask about his availability and location. What followed was an avalanche of calls which I couldn't answer at the time and had to silence my phone. If I text you, why not fucking text me back with a quick answer to my simple questions (available? when? where?) instead of assuming it's ok to call?! So, after repeated calls (annoying, because my phone kept vibrating), he leaves a message saying how he is super busy, has two locations for massage, one in the office, one at home, that I'd better make my appointment ASAP, and how I should definitely call him back because it's easier to just talk directly. I text him that I am not in a position to talk and then a shitload of text messages pressuring me to schedule ASAP. I was actually doing something else so this was super-annoying, so I eventually decided to cut it off saying that we just don't have the right chemistry, cancelling, and apologizing for taking his time. I don't know why I even tried, I guess I was just bored on my business trip and sore from trying to get in shape. Should have noticed that he is now based out of Lansing, Michigan, never a good sign when they keep moving. Massage was actually pretty good but the vibe was totally off, especially the lame attempt at sensuality at the very end. A waste of time and money (way overpriced btw). And yeah, he is much older now and pretty uptight about nudity.

Of course I don't mind when a masseur charges moderate prices for what they deliver (Nikola and Vic in Chicago, Brad and Anthony in NYC). I usually tip to take them close or to the level that other comparable guys charge. It's a win-win, they get a nice tip and I feel great about it, plus the chemistry for the next meeting is perfect. But when it comes to a new masseur for which there is no information here, I actually prefer to pay more, but never above $160 per hour, that's my limit. I find that this gives me a slightly better probability of actually liking the experience. Which is depressingly rare. Most of my first times with new masseurs have been mild disappointments, and outright disasters are about as frequent as pleasant surprises :-(. Paying more does change these probabilities, although, sadly, not by that much.

Interesting idea, EVdude, I never thought about that! I sort by distance, because I am skeptical about how sites order ads and what guys that push, they make masseurs bid for good spots toward the top of the page. I also make the point of going through the entire page before making my decision. I suspect all of us check all ads in a city (and on multiple sites) before making a decision, so it ultimately doesn't make much difference. Having said all that, a really good masseur offering great value should shoot for clients that are not price sensitive, which probably excludes those who sort on and decide primarily on price.

I love the $119 pricing for incalls. He should explore the idea of $119.99, though...
