  1. Please do not misunderstand this outdated work by Sheldon. Even when he created it, the somatotype concept was more about how our bodies influence our thinking. Modern research is teaching us that they are interrelated and interconnected. How we think matters and will affect many aspects of our body. Going back to Sheldon's work, we aren't 100% in any of the types. They're spectrums and each and every human--except for very rare people--are a mix of ecto, endo, and meso. There are some useful aspects of his work, but the BS about people being one type or another is crap that's counterproductive for many people. It's mostly marketing to sell diets and products targeting one type or another. What humans need to understand is the criticality of how we think about ourselves. Our thinking plays a huge role in how our bodies respond and react. Our central nervous system is focused on survival. It's constantly adjusting and adapting to our environment to maximize survival. @Rudynate mentioned his reduced range of motion after his surgeries. Much of that was likely his subconscious trying to keep him safe and alive. Becoming consciously aware of these somatic habits can help us undo them and retrain our brains, but we need professional help to do such work. Work like this is why sports psychology is growing so fast and why great coaches, trainers, sports massage therapists, and more can make good money and help many people. https://barbend.com/somatotypes-ectomorph-mesomorph-endomorph/ https://www.britannica.com/biography/William-Sheldon
  2. Men who have sex with men are a high risk category for nearly all STDs/STIs. Escorts and men who cruise regularly are high risk because of the volume and variability of their sexual partners. Add in demographic, psychographic, and socioeconomic factors and risk only increases. Did you know some people get off on "stealthing?" Have you heard of it? It's a person who commits fraud to trick a safer sex person into unprotected sex. That's a violation of ethics, morals, trust, and consent. It's also a crime in some places. I bring it up only to make a point. Humans are not mind readers. We never truly know what someone is thinking or their motivations or goals. All we can ever know is ourselves, and even that takes a lifetime of practice and work. If you're willing to live with the risks and unknowns, do whatever you want. But, if you want to reduce your risks and have safer sex, you should always bring your own condoms and lube for any penetrative activity, anal, oral, and vaginal. Learn how to use these supplies properly and how to ensure your partner does too. It's part of being an adult. Get informed, decide what you're comfortable with, and live your life as well as you can.
  3. I'm done that myself. It happens. Thank you for the correction.
  4. @keroscenefire, I'm confused, why is the ethical answer no when you go on to say "the evidence here is clear that douching very likely increases your risk for STIs?"
  5. So long as it's fully informed consent by the study participants and they know the current research that shows an association of douching with higher STI infection rates, I can see an ethical study being done. But, they must be fully informed of the risks. Another factor to consider, the WHI (Women's Health Initiative ) was and is about long-term tracking of women's health, their health decisions, and the impact of those decisions. I agree it's been immensely valuable in countering a whole range of assumptions and long held practices. I'm all for something like this in the MSM community to explore a whole range of topics.
  6. It doesn't not imply causation either. That's the challenge with this kind of research. It is unethical to knowingly create trials where one or more groups of humans are exposed to possibly life threatening illnesses. The first link I provided above is one of the better papers I've seen and their findings are compelling to me. As I have often said, each of us is responsible for our own lives and choices. Responsible humans should do their own research and reach their own conclusions to make up their own minds about how they want to live and the risks they wish to take in life.
  7. The hair color is off putting. I understand the fashion fad and the reasons why, but attempting to appear mature or sophisticated with hair color comes off as clownish and fake to me. The hourly rate is crazy for someone with no experience or training. He's trying to use his looks and build and that's not enough for me. I wish him good luck though. I'm sure there are clients who will contact him based on that ad.
  8. Pretty much.
  9. It's always good to have more research. See the links I included above for some examples of research that's out there on douching, anal sex, and STD/STI transmission.
  10. Everything in life has risks. Glycerin when inserted into the rectum is hyperosmotic. It attracts water into the intestine by irritating the epithelium. Staying hydrated and maintaining electrolytic balance are important. So too is a high fiber diet. Most Americans do not get enough fiber in their diets. For many people, if they ate enough fiber and were well hydrated, their bowel movement would keep them clean enough for anal sex. Though, as always, ass to mouth activity is always risky. If glycerin suppositories are used very frequently, there is a risk that it may disrupt bowel function enough to cause dependency on glycerin for proper bowel movement. Douching, on the other hand, has been linked to increased risk for HepB, HIV, and transmission of other STIs during anal sex. It may be correlated or causal, the research isn't fully there yet, but it's a strong enough link for me to decide in my own personal life not to douche and recommend against it when I'm asked about it. There is some research and product development into an anal douche that would be safer for the rectum and also reduce STD/STI transmission, but that is years away from viability. For now, frequent douching is too risky in my opinion based on the research I've read. https://bmcinfectdis.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1471-2334-14-95 https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10508-013-0203-0 https://academic.oup.com/jid/article-abstract/146/1/7/992842?redirectedFrom=fulltext https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10461-007-9301-0
  11. Douching is bad for the rectum for multiple reasons. Mostly because it reduces or removes protective mucus. Dries out tissues and more. Rectal tissues are delicate. If done carefully and only with warm water, douching can be okay occasionally. Say you're planning to be powerfucked for hours or doing some fisting, then it's okay if you're careful. Douching is not safe for daily sexual activity. There are much better habits if you want to bottom regularly. It's much better to significantly increase the fiber in your diet, which is also great for your overall health. Regularize your bowel movements and give yourself enough time to have your bowel movement without rushing. Lastly, don't forget to hydrate. If after all of that, you still don't feel secure, 2, 3, or 4 glycerin suppositories will take care of it. Take 1 and wait about an hour. Have a bowel movement. Take the second, wait an hour, and have another bowel movement. Take a third. After three, many people would be well cleaned out quite a way into the small intestine. Fun fact, douching is also bad for vaginal health. But that's something many on this forum don't need to worry about.
  12. It's all good. Maybe someone has more recent experiences with him.
  13. It's always good to start with a search of the forum. Searching for Fun_Dude easily found these: https://m4m-forum.org/threads/fun-dude-nyc-info.122875/ https://m4m-forum.org/threads/boyfriend-experience-nyc.128008/page-2#post-1371687
  14. I freely admit visual stimulus has an effect on me. Newsflash! I'm a human male, visual stimulus is in my DNA. In particular, I like hairy well formed proportionate torsos, neat facial hair is a plus, and yes an above average cock is nice too. But, over all, proportions matter and since I like guys of my height or taller and I'm above average too, my options are reduced. Thankfully, I'm very attracted to personalities as well, which greatly expands my options and is actually what draws me to @big dale. Yes, he's well above average based on the pic he's generously shared, but it's his avatar pic and the intelligence and personality that shine through his posts that really do it for me. All of that makes me rare for humans because regardless of Orientations, all of us know someone who puts up with a great deal from more attractive friends, partners, lovers, coworkers, etc. It's one of the strongest and most subtle biases in human psychology: visually attractive people have significant advantages in how people respond and interact with them. To return to the thread topic: In my decades on this amazing planet, I've had my fair share of interactions with attractive assholes with big tits, great asses, or big dicks. But, after my initial and very human reaction, I tend to adjust for my own biases and do my best to treat them just like any other human being. No one likes to be objectified all the time for their looks, dicks, breasts, or anything else they won in the birth lottery. As a therapist or any of my other careers, it was ultimately the humane and friendly people who I went out of my way for time and time again.
  15. TMS? Have you already tried a wide range of anti-depressants and found them ineffective? TMS isn't a first line treatment. It's usually reserved for those who are resistant to pharmacological treatments. Good luck. Be patient. Be persistent. Be compassionate. Be generous with yourself. May you have a productive journey as you explore this aspect of yourself.
  16. Sure there are many positive things about healthy sexual activity. But, without getting into public processing of everything the OP has revealed in his comments, I believe--maybe I'm wrong--but I believe hiring escorts in this particular situation is maladaptive and counterproductive. Again, THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. This is purely speculation based on experience and a close reading of what's been shared. The only person who can answer this is the OP. If he feels it's a positive and constructive aspect of his life and that it enables him to develop healthy productive socialization and other emotional intelligences, then great! If not, the time, money, and energy need to be redirected into healthier activities focused on deconstructing the foundational supports of the depression.
  17. @MidwestCoastal, THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. As one human to another, I hope you take many of these suggestions to heart. Depression, like many aspects of human experience seems to be self-reinforcing and habituating. It's important to change things up and disrupt the habits and patterns that form the structural support of the depression. I won't process much of what you've shared publicly, all I will say, is that you are not alone. Nearly every human being on Earth experiences a time in life where we ask the questions you're asking. 1. We are social animals. You must have social interaction in your life to remain sane and healthy. If you don't like humans or don't like yourself around other humans, get a cat or dog and work with a therapist on socializing strategies with humans. This is critical to healthy life. 2. Spending money on short-term gratification is great in the moment, but it will promote depressive feelings and thoughts later and reinforce feelings of loneliness and more. I STRONGLY URGE you to invest that money in yourself. Many studies have found that physical activity has a profound impact on human brains, especially male humans. Stop spending as much time with escorts and put some of that money toward a personal trainer. Make it someone who's attractive to you and who's friendly/coachy/flirty. They are out there. 3. What are you passionate about? What fires you up? What are your hobbies or interests? I promise you that it's possible to find an online discussion forum for pretty much anything. Why not find one or two about topics you are interested in and join them? Think of it as the kiddy pool where you can socialize safely from behind your computer screen. 4. Please find a good therapist that you can build a therapeutic alliance with and who's able to work with you in ways that you value. Talk therapy can work, but for disrupting and changing mental habits, other more functional therapies tend to be more effective especially in the short-term. 5. Do not just take whatever the doctor gives you for anti-depressants. This area of pharmacology is complex and the range of reactions and side-effects can be substantial from one person to the next. Talk to your doctor about the side-effects and your quality of life. If that doctor blows you off, find a new one. It's usually possible to get an effective drug and dose that helps with manageable side-effects. 6. Some psychedelics have shown some very promising early results. If other things aren't working, consider a visit to a cutting edge doctor in Denver for legal care. Or if you decide to try something on your own, look for one of the research studies or at least talk it over with your doctor because while preliminary results are promising, the wrong dose or psychedelic can do real harm. I hope my rambling has provided something. I've had depressive episodes in life. I even attempted suicide once long ago. These are very human experiences. But, research shows us that loneliness is a killer. Depression can be too. They require aggressive engagement and treatment. You are worth it. You deserve your love, compassion, and care. Once you can see your own awesomeness then others will be able to see it too.
  18. What's with the implicit homophobia or sexism? That rant has nothing to do with manliness. Gender expression is completely indepedant from assertiveness. ...BEGIN RANT... Draping is frequently a legal requirement that any legitimate massage professional will follow to remain legally licensed. Therapeutic massage helps hundreds of millions of people around the world. Highly trained body workers are a key contributor to the longevity and quality of the careers of high school, college, and professional athletes. They also help veterans live their best lives with the mental and physical injuries suffered in our wars. I could keep going for pages, but I hope my point is clear: spending money on a high quality massage is never a waste. If all you've ever experienced from massage are the massuses and massuers found online or in cheap parlors, it's likely you've never had an expert massage in your life. I've been fortunate enough to find great amateurs who give decent massages with extras over the years, but for real massage, I always seek out a professional. If anything extra happens with them, it's purely a bonus to an already incredibly beneficial experience. Treat humans well and you'd be surprised by what's possible. ...END RANT...
  19. Yes. Also, every test has a false negative and false positive rate. While it's highly unlikely, there's a small chance a person's test results may be incorrect. A good habit or routine of regular testing is a best practice for a responsible adult who's sexually active. If you want to learn more, get fancy and ask your doctor about the sensitivity and specificity for the tests being ordered the next time you visit. https://www.verywellhealth.com/false-positive-or-false-negative-std-test-results-3132750
  20. It's truly impressive how many people appear from the shadows for a glimpse of the beautifully thick and formidable endowment gifted by @big dale to those who ask for a peek.
  21. No. Usually I go to them as I cannot host at home. They just get annoyed by how long it'll take for me to arrive.
