  1. @manmed I know. It was a different cast of characters when I returned there after the pandemic.  No more Jorge or Rodrigo (the tall Brazilian guy… who I have heard sometimes still works at a Shangrila but have not seen him) or the other Mike from LA.  Although Jorge is can be found here:

I've learned my lesson in that regard.  Some masseurs have a rate that are equivalent to an escort rate and then don't provide much in the way of service.  My biggest mistake was falling for this with a guy who had only mostly naked photos and a lot of sexually suggestive text in his ad.  He kept his underwear on throughout the massage, redirected me every time I tried to touch him, and gave a poor massage to boot.  It was a total waste of time and money and I think the guy knew exactly what he was doing -- intentionally misleading customers (though maybe guys who were more to his liking physically got a better experience than I did).

Not saying what this guy will or won't provide...just suggesting that it's best to have more communication in advance about what a masseur's service consists of rather than making an assumption based on price or even photos and ad text.

@PaulM is spot on.  My experience has been that the pricier the massage the less likely one is to actually get a good massage and value for what paid.  It’s everywhere that guys with little skill and an attractive enough body pic are charging $200 for a 60 min massage and giving very little. I get that post-pandemic fees are higher and people are trying to make a living, but the value for the paying customer has to be there too.  The guys that are consistently good don’t have to charge high fees because they have a trusted client base built on a solid reputation, repeat service, and reliability.  Some (in my experience) don’t even advertise anymore. So  high escort range prices, beware.

Besides 27 Men's Spa, are there other spas that post their schedules? I'd like to get an idea of who's available before I call for an appointment.

For Shangrila, If you go to their website and book online from there you can see who is available any given day.

maybe he has been discussed before and if so I missed it or was t Erving the links well enough.  Anyway was curious about others experiences.  Mine was very good so this South American Adonis with a body that won’t quit.  Everyone who does massage or other related things and who is from Venezuela ia drop dead for gorgeous, in my view. He was pricey and … well if want to know more PM me.

Can anybody compare his skills to Pasha?  Noticed upthread that they do 4 hands..

Yes!  Pasha!  He was my go to when I visited NYC pre-pandemic. I don’t see him on any of the sites, but I believe he stopped massaging, yes?

One of the more interesting parts of the escort business is the economic decisions escorts have to make. Thru the last several years, prices of escorts have skyrocketed to where $300-$350 is the norm versus the $200-$250 of pre-Covid. Now that inflation is making excess funds for hiring more difficult how will providers respond? Would you rather hold out for the $300-350 rate and get less business or will you lower rates to get more business. The "cost" of providing service is relatively low in your home city so most any income goes straight into your pocket. Have you seen business start to decline in recent months and are you making any changes to your business model?

Also have the same question! Thanks.

  7. Sounds like he is working the internet with a pretty successful “tease” factor. I’ve run into quite a lot of high prices and suspect advertising lately on the various sites.  When the ads say “ask” on price, that’s never a good sign. But I “ask” nonetheless just to get a feel for where providers are.  One such provider said this “I know my rate is high at $200/hr” when I asked what is included he said “nude massage but anything that goes in any hole is extra.” So beware of massage-noodling I guess? Haha.  Pass.

Out of all the men’s spa I’ve been to in NYC, Top Men Spa takes the cake, Times Square Men Spa a close second. Top Men Spa definitely has everything down to a t. From the impeccable hospitality provided by their manager, Lynn, the overall cleanliness of their establishment (not to mention the size of every room), and the quality of their masseuses. That being said, I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back anytime soon considering the very awkward session I just had. The guy I asked for was David. He’s super nice, very handsome, and a great masseuse (I remember this from the first time I had him) which is why I specifically asked for him by name because this was exactly what I needed— a good, relaxing massage. However, as we were approaching the last few minutes of our session, he abruptly stops and made a gesture above my mid area which confused the fuck out of me so I asked what he meant. He goes, “I massaged you before right? You didn’t tip me enough last time.” And mind you, this was for the minimum and nothing else. Their 1 hour massage is $85 and I gave him a $60 tip. Idk if there’s a certain tip etiquette that I wasn’t aware of but I thought what I gave was more than enough considering. I was truly taken aback when he said this and felt embarrassed. It left such a sour taste that I asked him he didn’t need to finish the session but he insisted. When my time was nearing its end, he went out to get a hot towel to wipe off the oil on my body which he basically half assed and asked if I wanted to finish cleaning up by myself and in my head I was like “damn” (lol). So f embarrassing so I was just like “it’s fine.” At this point, I just wanted to get the fuck out. But before he left the room, I made sure to ask how much he wanted me to tip him for our session straight up because clearly I don’t know shit and I don’t want to get it wrong the second time lol and he said I didn’t have to which I happily obliged because what the actual fuck did I just go through man? Now it all made sense how he seemed so disinterested from the get go. He was literally just putting his weight on me the first half of the session which confused me because that wasn’t how I remembered it. I thought he was just having an off day which I totally understand. Turns out, that wasn’t the case. And just to be clear, I’m not saying to avoid this place entirely. Otherwise I wouldn’t have said what I said in the beginning. In fact, I’m encouraging you to visit and experience what they have to offer! It’s one of the better men spas if not the best in NYC. Just be wary of David.

Tim:  so sorry that happened to you at the Spa.  It should never have happened and I join the others in encouraging you to report the masseur who demanded a bigger tip and then did a sub-par massage. That happened to me once at a Spa in NYC but it wasn’t on the table, but afterward went to the front desk to check out.  The masseur said I was to pay a $30 minimum tip, for a 90min session. I asked him why since I had him before and he never said anything about the amount of my tip. We hashed it out then and there.  I was more disappointed than anything else.  I know these guys are trying to make a living but they won’t make as much as they could if they do not great their customers right.
