Having to cancel is admittedly a bummer but also prudent. Let's disregard Xxxx's comments for the moment. I am hardly alone in appreciating the efforts of ArVaGuy and others to arrange the brunch and Nate fora night out on the town.
With all due to respect to Epinogos and his Denver suggestion might I suggest another option? What about Fort Lauderdale in April or May? There is a planned Palm Springs event in April so we should choose a different weekend. But getting to Palm Springs isn't easy from the East Coast. (Sorry Nate!) Midwest and East Coast members can get lots of affordable flights to Fort Lauderdale. There are also lots of venues to visit. If this idea has any appeal we could start a fresh thread.

A recent post about Things I Miss got me off on a tangent about piano bars. Are there any left? I remember when Boston's Napoleon Club was a 1st floor piano bar on weeknights. The upstairs dance bar only opened Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. It was a comfortable environment for a young guy figuring out his sexual identity and a a gay version of Cheers for the regulars.
Martunies in San Francisco is straight but gay friendly. The Front Porch in Ogunquit Maine has morphed into a primarily straight bar but features gay performers who work plenty of gay references into their acts.

I'm now 2 weeks on generic (TEVA) and have zero side effects. Never having had any of the Truvada side effects that we were warned about I was curious about other experiences. My 90 day supply came with a minimal co-pay. Recent spikes in COVID rates may again force me into hiatus which will extend the life of the present Rx.

I guess I should be grateful that like you Joe Mendoza, if given the choice I'd rather have a cocktail and a nice meal.

I most certainly don't want to shower where I have just defecated, but that isn't what it has to be. I have a shower attachment (silicon that clips onto it, not one that is bolted onto the shower outlet) and I charge up in the shower and 'dump' the contents into the toilet at first and only 'vent' in the shower when I'm confident there will be no solid matter. Seems to work most of the time.

It's been a year and 8 months so forgive my memory lapses. I went on the Wet and Wild day boat trip which was a lot of fun. I went with a small group from my resort but everyone mixed well. Spartacus is fun! I enjoyed the shows at Blue Chairs. Maybe I went on off nights but I didn't care for the bars with strippers/go-go's. They looked like bored straight guys and kept trying to sell private dances. I preferred having too many drinks and camping it up with the fun bunch of old queens at the piano bar. (forget name)

Excited about my first PV trip in a couple of weeks. I've checked out the threads and appreciate the insights. Just wondering if anyone has any recent tips to offer such as places to go and/or boys to look for. I plan to visit Spartacus, Antropology & Wet Dreams. Any tips on hiring?

The ManRay site is now $1Million+ condos. Cambridge’s only other gay  bar Paradise is now a biotech company. I don’t think it has hurt applications but Harvard and MIT boys have no local gay bars. 😀

Actually, that is one of the survivors. The restaurant and bar are neighborhood hangouts and there are shows a few nights a week.
Interestingly, Cathedral Station in the South End and "dbar" in Dorchester are restaurant/bars. Maybe that's the path to survival, at least in this area.

I mourn the loss of Gayborhoods in so many cities. Boston's South End had several bars, coffee shops and gay businesses. The last bar just closed and the gentrified neighborhood is almost all straight. DC had the respectable gay Dupont Circle and the notorious area later cleared for the National's ballpark. Even the Castro is shrinking. Who could have imagined a go-fund-me to save Twin Peaks?
I'm glad Wilton Manors endures. Someone better silence me the next time I complain about it!
