The second point is simply false. Wuhan, Bergamot and New York City all showed what covid can do. Shanghai is a different matter. With an effective vaccine, it maybe preferable to let covid run its course, but the Chinese government slow walked the approval of mRNA vaccine and their domestic vaccine may not be effective enough to let the covid run freely.
