I'd clarify just a few things beforehand:
 
- does he need some time to himself during the 24 hours? if so, how much...
- if he gets phone calls, does he prefer to take them? does he always hold off from them? same clarification with texts, emails. for you, just knowing what his perspective is on this, would be helpful so expectations are in order.
- food, gosh, yeah, I love what the earlier poster said in this thread... 3 meals a day. nothing drives me crazier (well there are some things, grin...) than when a client wants to forgo a meal. I put out a lot of physical energy, and I, for one, need fuel. it's fine if a client doesnt want to eat, but I do. my point here is just talk with him first to clarify his fuel needs, heh heh. and you might as well ask then if he has any dietary needs, too.
 
remember to just enjoy the fact that you'll have extended time with that guy. seriously, I've been with a number of clients who seem to bring their bucket list along, and that takes the spontaneity out of the experience.

Talk with him to make sure that both of you are clear about your expectations. And then talk again to confirm what you believe you heard....

My most recent encounter with one of these potential "clients" was quite interesting. He messaged me just prior to my trip to LA saying he wanted to schedule. He told me that he's 18, from Kuwait and visiting LA with his family. He asked if I'd be available for a 6 am appointment, as he would need to sneak out of the hotel to come see me. I tried to get him to send me a copy of his ID (to prove his age), to which he said he wasn't comfortable. I then asked him to send me a deposit but he said he didn't have PayPal or Venmo. I went ahead and confirmed with him for a 7 am session.
 
I woke up a little before 6 to find an email from 5:15 saying that he already left the hotel and wanted to know where he could go to wait until 7. I replied telling him that I really didn't know, to which he quickly replied that he was at Canter's Deli and surrounded by some "scary black guys" who are asking him for money, and he's scared cause he's carrying lots of money and "when can I be there"?
 
I replied back telling him to grab an Uber and come on over. I waited over an hour, and finally got a reply that he contacted Uber and they told him to return back to his hotel, which needless to say made no sense. He then tried to reschedule with me for later in the day, but I told him I wouldn't reschedule unless he could pay me online for his missed appointment. After much back and forth he asked if he could just come by with the money and for a new appointment, but by this point I was uncomfortable and told him that I was no longer interested in seeing him.

Sounds more like a vice sting either for solicitation or perhaps "but he said he was 18" pedophile grabs. If he were surrounded by "scary black guys" asking for money, how did he have time to text/email you about it? You did the correct thing.

This is appalling. You would think the police had better things to do than entrap people on rentmen. What a colossal waste of resources that should be used to fight violent crime

While sex, pornography, and other behavioral issues may not (yet) be classified as disorders in the DSM-V, there certainly are a lot of people in the mental health community, especially those doing clinical work, who accept "sex addiction" and "porn addiction" as, at a minimum, useful working terms. Whether or not they are true addictions depends a lot on how "addiction" is defined. It can be a long path for something to make it into the DSM, especially if there isn't a drug company pushing a medication to treat the condition! It must be difficult to secure funding to do the necessary research to get something like a behavioral pattern classified as an addiction.
 
Meanwhile, I personally have found it very helpful to participate in the Sex Addicts Anonymous program, and very, very helpful to think of certain thought and behavior patterns as something addictive for me. For example, if I start in on porn it leads to phone sex which will take up all time I can make available, with my work and relationship with my husband suffering. And the fantasies get more and more extreme and exhausting.
 
What are fun, recreational sex activities for many guys are something I just can't handle. Saying to myself "I'm an addict" is really useful in keeping myself from starting something that I have found over and over I can't stop.
 
Whether or not this is a true addiction, strictly defined, is a good question. What's true for a lot of people like me is that it works to think of ourselves as addicts, in my case, anyway, knowing I'm using the term somewhat loosely.
 
There are a lot of therapists with "sex addiction" practices, books, articles, etc.

I answer the first few, but when he hits me back with another slew of questions (is my right testicle larger than my left...) or tries to initiate phone sex, I tell him I'll need a small deposit to keep this conversation going. Most often that ends the conversation, but he was never going to book in the first place. Inevitably, the jacker off moves to the next guy down on rentmen and starts the process all over again and has never actually paid an escort in his life. I could spend untold hours jacking these guys off over the phone and perhaps get one single booking out of it, but that's not a productive use of my time.
