Strangely "Superstar" remains my all time favorite show. ( Although admittedly I do prefer the movie version ). Yvonne Elliman brings me to tears every time. So...the irony is not lost on me that I find Cats to be a dumpster fire. One good song and the rest is garbage.

Cats. Terrible, terrible show. I have NO idea how it lasted as long as it did. But then I generally find Broadway shows to be cheesy and not worth the price of the ticket. Good call. San Jose is a sh*t hole. Accommodations are generally affordable everywhere in the country. Definitely avoid American brand name resorts, as these will charge American prices. Stick to local beach resorts where locals from San Jose might stay themselves. Costa Rica is a poor country, so your dollar goes a long way. But like with any poor country, there are many scams trying to take advantage of rich American tourists. I found the best run places are those with access to the National Parks. There's a lot to pick from, and a basic command of the Spanish Language gets you a much better price.
