I know a nut case of a woman who can't seem to live or travel without her toy dog. She's on her 4th teacupper since I've known her. The woman is the type who sprays her body with Estée Lauder perfume before she enters a room. She once told me she sprayed her last dog, too, insisting her micro pet loved the scent. Not 4 years old, the toy dog developed cancer. The woman paid a fortune to give the dog chemo treatments. The dog died.
 
For months I listened to this woman and her dog woes, all the while thinking she needs serious therapy and deserves jail time for mistreatment of animals. When it comes to pets, some people are absolutely crazy.

If I want to express love for my partner, I'm happy to do so in private where I know he's safe from harm.

Judy and Liza were major talents. Renee Zellweger? I'm not seeing that. I get that Zellweger may want to work, may need to work. I'm not seeing a kind future for her in film. Whenever a famous actress alters her famous face so famously, it usually means an end to her film career.

Your biggest commitment will be to tenacity. The unrelenting hurdle to overcome will be securing your own lease in a "convenient" area. It is very difficult, almost impossible, for a single person to secure a lease in Manhattan without a credit check, employment info, and minimum salary requirements. With every new year, as prices increase and inventory tightens, the restrictions increase.

I'm not sure I can completely agree with that. The film is a modest effort. Their lack of money shows, but it keeps the film more real and grounded. Less like a typical, over-produced Nancy Meyer/Hollywood fairytale. The difference between cost of CMBYN and Moonlight could easily be calculated in the exchange rate.
 

The dance scene stuck with me, too. Sometimes it's difficult to stop the song from playing in my head. I remember falling in love with a few guys by watching them dance on the dance floor. In my youth, went dancing almost every weekend. It's a brief but pivotal moment in the film for Elio, who moves with such sensual fluidity. You really can tell a lot about a person by the way he dances. Watching Armie grimace every time he talks about making the dance scene reminds me of all the tall guys I've known who felt totally awkward on a dance floor. I thought Armie did a great job disguising his extreme discomfort.

Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski are fun because they're both drag queens. This year's winter Olympics are the gayest I've ever seen. That's certainly a plus for me.

It's a whole other thing for a skinny, twink-type, 33-year-old male, who dresses like the Sultan of Oman's daughter, to be hired and paid as an official commentator for the Olympics. Clearly, someone in power is looking to the future and trying to figure out how to get younger people to watch, since ratings are not great.
