  1. I assume the post was meant to poke fun, too. However, Luca Guadagnino (and some of the actors) speaks to many of these issues in interviews on the internet. The word "gay" is not mentioned in the movie. Neither of the boy lovers says "I love you." No serious protagonist, either. Guadagnino says some Hollywood studio turned him down for financing because the mother needed to be more hateful and disapproving. He refused to make the movie others dictated to him. In fact, he specifically moved up the time frame of the story to early 1980's. Guadagnino wanted to capture a time just before AIDS struck, when life and minds were more free.
  2. I loved Pan's Labyrinth, but I did not love this movie. I only liked it. It is a love story, so in that sense it is beautiful, but I did not find the film beautiful. It's dark, dank, and wet. Not my idea of beauty.
  3. When you consider his only talent may be reading from a teleprompter and filling endless minutes of airtime, repeating CNN shit over and over again, it does seem like a serious waste of money. However, the published sums are always grossly inflated, and you can imagine the net after taxes. Still high, though. Let's not forget that Cohen isn't doing so bad, either. At least Cooper pretends to work in news (60 Minutes). Cohen is making his fortune off of large-breasted, heavily-painted women hating on each other. True TV trash, unless you're RuPaul. Cohen produces the absolute worst of America, in the name of "pop culture." Both guys are laughing all the way to the bank. So what if they're friends who travel together. Who cares they almost dated? Bad taste is bad taste. Cooper says Andy makes him laugh, and given that "I don't like to be touched" Cooper probably needs a good laugh, Cohen might just be a friend of convenience. After watching last night, they seem like the oddest couple. But rumor has it that Cooper is really odd in person. Cohen made a complete fool of himself most of the night, especially with Nicole Kidman. All Cohen cares about is plugging his shit (more money) and dishing (more gossip). They seemed like they were trying to do their own version of the Kathy/Anderson show, but it really bombed. The sound problems and the satellite delays were so annoying. Listening to Cohen endlessly whine about the cold revealed Cohen's true princess status. You know they wore body warmers and had heaters on set, while everyone else in Times Square really suffered. CNN/Jeff Zucker didn't want to pay for a complete song by Celine Dion. The banter back and forth on that interview was dreadful. Poor Celine. Yet ABC paid Brittany for a whole song from Las Vegas, even though it was pure lip synch. ABC at least offered 10-times the number of live performances, and Nick Jonas was brave enough to take his vocals into the crowd. Nobody does that on NYE. CNN is so cheap. I guess all the money went to this boy-team of duds. Still in disbelief.
  4. Not well, according to Guadagnino. He says most sex scenes look contrived or gratuitous to him. If you can find the interview, he speaks quite frankly about this. I found his thoughts and artistic vision a true inspiration.
  5. I'm surprised how bad it is. It's like these guys have no clue what to do. No chemistry. Almost makes me long for Kathy Griffin. Considering these guys are touring with some show, I'd thought they would make a better team. I know it's really cold outside, but watching them is kinda painful.
  6. Luca Guadagnino said in a few interviews that the movie is not about gay sex. It's about love, first love, and family. He had no desire to shoot explicit sex scenes. He explains why in a number of interviews. Hammer also says in an interview that he did not want his daughters being harassed in grade schools with photos of "daddy's dick," which is why he initially hesitated to take the roll. One has to assume that Guadagnino assured Hammer that his movie would be different from the book.
  7. Much like Brokeback Mountain, I'm on my third viewing of this film. I can't seem to let it go. My heart wishes to cling to it. Thanks to all who posted the various links to fun and informative videos.
  8. Did therapy for two years long ago to work through some personal pain. Best decision I ever made. Changed my life forever. Did psychiatry not psychology. I loved my therapist, an older gay man who had been in a monogamous marriage for over 50 years. He was a true inspiration. He really helped me see the light of day.
  9. But yet we are still uniquely different. I'm not making any "claims of exclusivism." I'm simply acknowledging something that exists among many men that does not seem to exist among women.
  10. I read the story, and I don't think Levine is merely a mentor. It seems he crossed the line I mentioned earlier. I wasn't "reasoning" in defense of Levine or any other sexual predator. But I do question whether men are different (from women) in the company of boys. There's a male bonding thing that seems innate to some of us. A boy's dick changes when he passes through puberty, and that change makes many boys curious about adult cock. Adult men never forget these changes, and we remember the game, "I'll show you mine if you show me yours." I "played" with several adult males before I turned 16, and most of those guys were straight. I just happened to be a curious teen. Nobody ever attempted to molest me, but clearly I had adult males in my life that were worthy of my trust, and they understood my curiosity. They taught me a lot about being a sexual male. Like I said, this "thing" in us males has been with mankind for centuries.
  11. If 7 men come forward and complain about sexual harassment, then it would not be difficult for me to believe the 7 men.
  12. Exactly. In any he-said/she-said situation, "truth" is very difficult to ascertain. At this moment, the "victims" are receiving mostly benefit of doubt. We'll see how long this lasts.
  13. Strange exchange on this thread. If the story is true, and that's a big if these days, it's truly sad that a 23-year-old could not step away from all electronic devices and ignore cyber bullying. Suicide over something so entirely meaningless is a waste I can't fathom. But then again, I have no idea what it's like to be a 23-year-old who works in the porn industry. If I was an aspiring porn star, I have a feeling I'd be picky about my scene partners, and I'd want to do everything I could to make sure my partner met a certain standard of proven good health. I hear some studios bust their ass for safety. Others, not so much. Porn is a risky business, probably because a lot of people prefer to remain uninformed about health and safety.
  14. I like it, too. But I don't think I'd want to live there alone.
  15. Well, enjoy that trip to Mars. Older men's affection for the company of younger men (and vice-versa) has been going on for centuries. In some cultures, it's considered "normal." I doubt a media hyped "me-too" movement in the U.S. is going to end the allure and fascination. Many of these intense bonds are not fueled by predatory behavior. But I imagine the line can get easily crossed, depending on the motives and sexual appetites of certain individuals.
  16. "Artists create their own moral universe" and certain art-loving communities are more accepting of this notion. "Turning a blind eye" is more prevalent among the super creative types and those who work with them.
  17. @Bearofdistiction Since the site owner shut your other "vile" post down, stating a personal connection to the deceased, why on earth would you come on this thread displaying the exact same disrespect?
  18. I'm surprised they allowed a review as a thread from the OP. I've never booked a massage from a gay massage site without asking bed or table. Am I the only one who cares?
  19. The blooper roll is interesting. Shows Johnny as his goofy self. Would have liked to see the bloopers from the shower takes. I'm surprised someone put him on camera without make-up. The dark circles around his eyes make him look like he hasn't slept in weeks. Strange impression for a health notice.
  20. I assume he said "yes" to having a massage table because he's licensed? Sometimes it's not easy to figure out what someone is trying to say.
  21. Yikes! You really know you found someone who is just doing whatever for the money if he shows up with crusted fecal matter in the crack of his ass. I'm not sure where some of you guys are finding these so-called massage therapists, but that's not what I would call them.
  22. I see consonants. Absolutely no numbers. Perhaps you should have your eyes checked. For actual numbers, here's this: Keeping Charles Manson in Prison for 46 Years Cost Taxpayers Over $1 Million http://fortune.com/2017/11/21/charles-manson-prison-cost/
  23. Why do you assume stupid things of people you don't know? No, you're the one who did. Apparently you’re too busy posturing, preening, and posting false assumptions to notice.
  24. And good luck to all those who paid a tax burden on a criminal like Manson.
  25. IMO, there are certain cases where the "right to a fair trial and due process" should be eliminated. Manson is such a case. I shudder when I think of the tax payer money that was wasted on this very demented man.
