Dan Savage had a riff at the start of this week's podcast on how refreshing the 'so what' reaction to this news was. He speculated that if it had been at a US university he would have been fired. Isn't it nice not to have an instant moral panic?

Trust me there are guys in this hobby way hotter than DA, with better bodies, faces, asses, and dicks, with better attitudes about their clientele.

Actually after reading his response a second and third time, I believe he knew exactly what he was saying. It was not off the cuff. It was a blatantly honest assessment of how he runs his business. He admitted everything the client said was true and feels no angst at his treatment of the client. So in this case there is no other side to the story, no misinterpretation of facts.
 
My guess he will continue to have many clients because that is how they want to be treated. Who knows he may make some statement on here and apologize and we can all say wow that took guts, Bah humbug! He just wants your money with the least amount of service. There are times you have to wonder how many other guys feel just like Derek Atlas but not quite so honest to the public about it.

My only issue is that everyone acts like he's an angel who occasionally has a bad day.

In the interest of getting something constructive out of this experience I'd encourage this client, if he reads the Forum, to not be deterred and find a companion with whom he really has some chemistry. There are some really great guys out there who will knock your socks off!
My second-ever hiring experience was a similar disaster and it took me a while to get back up on the horse again but I'm really glad I did - I've met lots of terrific guys

Geez, I know there are two sides to every story, but Derek Atlas’s response to his negative review today is enough to make me steer clear of him. I know he’s an established escort with good reviews, but his response sure makes him sound like a first class jerk. Chin up “CAbigboy”! There are lots of skilled, sensitive escorts out there so don’t give up the search.

I suspect being "straight looking" isn't why you have trouble hooking up.

I really don't get straight men advertising on RM for gay men. What is the draw of gay men to have an encounter with a man who wants limited if any contact? There are plenty of beautiful, well developed gay men who would likely allow a similar experience? Suggestion: Pick your continent, country, and city from the drop down menus. If you just type "Vienna" you will miss all the men who call it "Wien." And Italians, Spaniards, Russians etc. may even use other names. Then there are some who just misspell it.
