When a provider plays a game by asking rentmen to relock his photos because a client does not immediately open the photos and the provider also ignores a question (three times) concerning the amount of his fee, this indicates that the provider is likely not any good at his job. In other words, not worth pursuing any longer.

Your response makes sense. However, there is more to the situation than I originally wrote. He also ignored my question about his fee. His messages are polite but relocking the photos (that do not need to be locked on a rentmen site) plus ignoring my question about the amount of his fee (three different messages) I feel that meeting him would be a disappointment.

One hour is only a small investment in case the encounter with an unknown provider turns out that you and the provider are not compatible. If, after getting together it is determined that you two are compatible with each other, you can agree to extend the meeting to a longer time, even a meeting for an overnight. This is how I do it. If you book a new or unknown provider for an overnight and it does not work out, you are out the money and you will have a lousy time with a lousy memory of the occasion.

There is an advertiser on rentmen that I was considering hiring. I requested his locked photos to be open for me. He opened the pictures for me two days ago. However, I was occupied and away for two days and did not get back to the provider immediately. Tonight I tried to open the pictures but the provider has changed his mind and told rentmen to lock the photos again for me. Should I now ignore this provider considering his immature behavior of relocking photos that I did not immediately open to see? If he is that picky or wishy-washy before hiring, how might he behave it in the future? The guy is handsome but that strange childish relocking of his photos again because I did not immediately look at them is a bit concerning about his overall behavior that might affect his future behavior if I were to meet with him. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I am pleased to read that Lucky had a good and safe Brazil trip. I hope that he writes a report of his trip after he is back and adjusts to his local time zone. Based on my recent and prior experiences, Sao Paulo has been and continues to be relatively safe for tourism. There is much to see and do in Sao Paulo. The sad part of Sao Paulo is that most of the garoto saunas have closed. The populaton of Sao Paulo is more than eleven million people. I remember when Sao Paulo had seven garoto saunas and most were busy at expected times. Of the seven Sao Paulo saunas, the former sauna (now demolished) Lagoa sauna was the largest and best sauna with a tremendous draw and a good reason for visiting Sao Paulo. Now, in Sao Paulo, there is only one garoto sauna, which is referred to as Lagoa. The three buildings that were joined together and housed the former Lagoa have been demolished and a tall condominium building has been built in its place. The replacement for the original Lagoa sauna (mentioned above) is a small four story building with no acoustics on the ceiling which makes it difficult to have a conversation while in the section where tables are and where food and drinks are served. The quality of the garotos has markedly declined. The new Lagoa sauna is in a good (mostly residential) neigborhood without much crime. Rio, on the other hand, is visitable but it depends on where and when you travel around the city to avoid muggings or worse. Three of my friends were mugged in Rio during the past year, each on a different occasion. The parts of Rio I formerly visited have become too dangerous for me to visit if one is an obvious tourist. Even though Rio is still fun, it, like Sao Paulo and most cities in Brazil, has lost a lot of their garoto saunas. Rio is down to just two garoto saunas (Clube 117 and Clube 202), not including the sauna downtown which is not often used by tourists. I plan an October trip to Brazil and look forward to my upcoming trip. I will post a discussion of my trip after I return.

That neighborhood borders on being called "beautiful" because of its location (the most elegant and expensive street in Sao Paulo). I could not guess how many times I have been on that street over the years. I have never seen or heard of any street muggings or danger on that street. Of course, any street or neighborhood, anywhere in the world, could have an occasional or unexpected danger. The park across the street would not be so popular if it were dangerous. Again, there could be an isolated instance of a danger anywhere in the world.

Zurich - Paragonya sauna and nearby hotel Scheuble

The clerks know that a high number of single male guests to the hotel visit Paragonya, only one block away. Based on my observation (and your comment), the clerks there seem to disrespect gays or any single male who checks into the hotel who "probably" is gay and will visit Paragonya. Anti-gay is a polite way to describe those rude desk clerks. I have seen and heard and read about the front desk personnel at Hotel Scheuble and their consistent rudeness to single males who stay at the hotel. -

You presented a good analysis and suggestions. However, the rates for that hotel are still outrageious even if you save a little money by booking different reservations for your time period at the hotel, during the same time period you are there. Thus, it pays to analyze each day for the price then make a reservation for the lesser priced room (day) rather than have all the days of your vacation in one reservation. Goofy! -
Who would want to see a provider that had been hired three times by the same client (then made a new appointment) only to lie to the client about the price of an Uber then ghost the client after the client offered to pay the Uber?

I would happiliy accept the $300 rate. However, as noted in my initial post to this thread, the rates for the days I want are $500 dollars daily, not $300 as noted in your post. -
Do you let someone know you’re going to see a provider?

Yes, there are some good things out there. Some, being the important word. While it is true that most escorts are not dangerous, unfortunately, there are a few bad guys that want to rob or cause harm to clients they engage. Therefore, even though probability is on your side to not have any problems, it is not a big issue to leave a note or message to let your friends know where you went, just in case. -

I will, for sure, update the forum about Paragonya after I return. You said you have never been to Paragonya. In my opinion, Paragonya is the most extraordinary sauna in the world that has rentboys. Although it is possible to meet and connect with rentmen without a sauna, only three countries in the world have rentmen saunas (Switzerland, Brazil and Spain/Barcelona). Of course, it is possible to meet rentmen in other places than in a sauna. However, in a sauna it is much safer and easier to connect with a rentman because of the convenience of meeting in the sauna then renting a room in the sauna if you and the rentmen choose to get together. It is a matter of convenience and safety (and fun). The rentmen are a mix of guys from different parts of the world. However, over the past few years, the mix of rentmen was largely Brazilian and other south American countries. As to cost of the rentman, last February, I found it difficult to believe how cheap it continues to be there. The asking price from the average rentman was only 100 francs or euros. With USDs, it would be $110 because the dollar has a lower exchange rate than the euro and franc. The 100 cost is only for a short time in the small rooms that are free. There are nicer rooms in the sauna that can be rented for a cost. If you rent one of the nicer rooms for a cost and hire a rentmen to join you, the initial cost of the rentman is still one hundred euros or francs but if you spend more time with the rentmen in the paid rooms, the rate for the rentman is higher based on your skill at negotiating. You can also spend more time in the free rooms but you must pay the rentman more based on what you agree for spending the extra time together. Regardless, the prices for a rentmen at Paragonya are not expensive, in my opinion. -

Thanks for the information. Your dinner price is not encouraging for visiting Zurich. With the hotels daily rates double and tripling prices and an "ok" restaurant charges nearly $300 dollars for dinner for two, I might be disappointed in my upcoming trip. I am wondering if the "escorts" at Paragonya have doubled or tripled their rates like many hotels (and restaurants) have done there. One of the draws to Zurich was inexpensive guys available at Paragonya. I guess the only way to find out is to go there and see for my self. If escorts at Paragonya have also doubled or tripled their rates, I will report back here to let potential visitors to Zurich know. -

On the dates of my upcoming planned visit, this hotel asks for more than one thousand dollars each night. I can see that I was very lucky on my prior recent trips to Zurich to have been able to get Hotel Scheuble at a little over two hundred dollars nightly. Even though I have the money to pay the higher rates asked by Hotel Scheuble and other hotels in the area, I find it bizarre to have the rates increased as they have. Inflation has been fairly high in many parts of the world since the Covid pandemic but the overall inflation rate was not 300% as is reflected in some of the hotel rates in Zurich and other parts of Europe. What is stranger than the high nightly hotel rates is the fact that most of the hotels are fairly full, despite the increased nightly rates for rooms. -

Can you let me know the name of the hotel? -
Although I usually visit Brazil, I occasionally (once or twice each year) visit Zurich and its fun sauna known as Paragonya. Paragonya has been favorably discussed many times in this forum. For convenience purposes, there is a hotel only one block from Paragonya named Hotel Scheuble. I have stayed at that hotel many times over the years. I stayed there mainly for convenience purposes being so close to Paragonya. The daily hotel rate has been around two hundred dollars daily, on average. It is a decent hotel but not anything luxurious. As I wrote, I stay there because it is so close to Paragonya. I am planning a return to Zurich in a couple of weeks to visit relatives who live near the border of Germany and Zurich. Of course, I also plan to visit Paragonya which I have done countless times in the past. When I called Hotel Scheuble to make a reservation, I was surprised at hearing their new daily rate which, when converted from francs and taxes to USDollars equals around $500.00 each day. I will reluctantly pay that rate but I am wondering why that hotel, which is not a luxurious hotel, can get that high daily rate. Could it be that the hotel owners realize that Paragonya is a draw to Zurich and so near the sauna that people will pay that rate? Others who plan a trip to Europe and also plan a visit to Paragonya will get a bit of a surprise. If anyone has any idea why that nice (but ordinary) hotel doubled its usual rate, please give a comment. Thanks -

Do you let someone know you’re going to see a provider?
coriolis888 replied to starman05's topic in Questions About Hiring
What purpose? Although it sounds grizzly, if you went to a provider's place and he happened to be a bad person and hurt you beyond recovery (killed you), by advising someone where you traveled to or visited, at least someone would know where you went which would make it easier for the police to catch the person who did you in. Of course it would not personally do you any good but at least the bad guy would be caught if the police were competent. -
MASP (Museum of Art in Sao Paulo) in Brazil - Even though the museum is a long way from the U.S., a visit to this museum is memorable if you happen to be in Brazil. Over my many years of visiting Brazil, I have been to this museum countless times. The exhibits are changed often and there is usually something unique on display from another museum from various parts of the world. As noted in the above paragraph, the museum often has exhibits of famous works loaned to the museum by famous world wide museums. My most memorable exhibit was a huge collection of Toulous-Lautrec works. The value of the huge exhibit had to be at least around one billion dollars. Below is a link to the museum details. The link shows several photos of the museum. Incidentally, in the link is a photo of a park that is located directly across the street from the museum called Parc Trionon. That park is interesting because the park contains many male hustlers during the day. Considering that prostitution is legal in Brazil, it is not uncommon to see hustlers attempting to meet clients while police walk through the park for safety reasons (to prevent robberies et cetera). Click on the below link to see the museum building and a photo of the hustler park directly across the street from the MASP museum. Most garotos honor their agreement. However, once in a while, a garoto will lie and say that you agreed to a higher amount. Unless I already know the garoto, I carry a small napkin and then write the agreed amount on that napkin and show it to the garoto who acknowledges the amount and the agreement.

I have read the entire thread thus far with your many posts. It is clear that you or your therapists have given you a remarkable insight into yourself. Of course, it is possible that you developed the insight without the therapists. Sometimes, as Lewis Carroll wrote in his Walrus and Carpenter poem, maybe there is no answer that will solve needs ("answer came there none"). Keep up the interesting posts.

Sao Paulo and Rio - Escort advertisements
coriolis888 replied to coriolis888's topic in The Americas
Of course this also happens in the U.S. However, in the U.S. you have more ways to screen dangerous ads. For example, rentmen site verifies most of the material and information submitted by advertisers (escorts). This reduces a lot of scamming and danger, but not all. When a rentmen fake ad is found and reported, the ad is usually quickly removed. In Brazil, no such verification takes place even though a large portion of the escort ads are fake. Fear monger? You might want to check your dictionary before you attach that title to such a serious thing as this. Definition: monger • \MUNG-gur\ • noun. 2 : a person who attempts to stir up or spread something that is usually petty or discreditable - -
