I posted about this abandoned dog on various animal sites, including PAWS, which is supposed to be the best site for matching lost animals with owners. Beginning today, I had two different people tell me that they saw my notice on PAWS and that the dog belongs to them. One person asked me to send him money via Western Union for a cab so he could come to my house to pick up the dog. The other wanted me to send money so they could rent a car to come get the dog. Those requests are too absurd to even consider. I asked each person where they live. They lived far from me. I also asked why the dog was pushed out of a car on Thursday morning. One was creative and replied that it must have been the person who stole "their" dog who pushed the dog onto the street. Those requests remind me of the occasional thread on this forum when escorts ask for deposits or money in advance of meeting. Scams are not limited to escorts, or so it seems. It takes on a whole new meaning when a scammer tries to profit over an abandoned dog.

I have been with the dog since around ten o'clock today. He is a large friendly and playful dog. He eats like a horse (quantity wise). Neighbors walking past my home with their little dogs initially feared walking past such a large dog. However, the dog is totally docile and does not pay any attention to being barked at by smaller dogs. Parents walking with their children initially feared the dog because of his size. However, after I assured them the dog is not hostile or dangerous, many walkers stopped to play with the dog while the dog remained in my yard. I was surprised at how many visitors I had today because of the abandoned dog. In short, the dog is not hostile - he just looks scary because of his size. As to the dog having an identification chip, I suspect that is a good possibility. The dog clearly is a purebred. I cannot imagine any owner of a purebred dog not having a vet place a chip for future identification. Considering that the dog had no collar (which prevented me from calling its owner) I assume the man who pushed the dog from a car was not the true owner. If I get someone to take the dog, I will report back. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thank you for the information about the Rottweiler rescue facility. I tried to contact that facility today, without success. Unfortunately, many animal charities and other charities exaggerate what they can do in order to continue collecting tax deductible charitable donations from the public. Based on my futile experience today and based on what I learned today about the lack of help for the "rescue" of dogs, the dog centers promise more than they can deliver. I spent hours on this project today and called place after place, including the facility you mentioned. The most inspiring lead I got was that someone from Rottweiler Rescue would telephone me and make arrangements to come to my home to get the dog or give me directions to bring the dog to their shelter facility. That promise did not come true for me or for the abandoned dog. No one from the facility called me. Hearing nothing from the Rottweiler facility, I finally called a friend of mine who works as an animal control officer for the City of Los Angeles. My animal control friend said that many of the charities (Rottweiler, German Shepard, et cetera) mean well but that they are simply over loaded with dogs and understaffed for employees to do an efficient job. The coronavirus pandemic made matters worse. What a sad situation. How disappointing.

Incredibly, this morning while I was in my front yard, a car stopped near my house. The driver opened his door and pushed a beautiful Rottweiler dog out of his car then drove off. I estimate the dog is about two years old or less. I determined this based on its bright white teeth and general overall health. The dog weighs at least 150 pounds and is male. The dog is very friendly. It is trained to know basic commands, like sit, et cetera. Because I travel a lot, I cannot keep the dog. I called various animals control centers but cannot get any help from any of the centers to accept the dog. One center said, when they can accept a dog, they keep the dog for five days but kill it if the dog is not "adopted" within an allotted five-day period. You are correct. That is a weakness of the rentmen site. Writing a truthful and bad review should not be prevented merely because the rentmen site is programmed to require a review coming from an open advertisement. Blocking a client is bad faith on the part of both the provider and rentmen for allowing such an unfair process that prevents a client from reporting a bad encounter. The solution might be to not so say anything to the provider that would tip him off that you plan to write a negative review.

I agree, good for them. Many providers see so many clients in a day that they cannot get hard or they use drugs and have issues performing after arriving to see a client. Even while texting or talking with providers, to make an appointment, most seem okay. It is after they arrive on drugs or have seen a few clients that same day, makes spending money on them such a waste. Worse, is that some advertising clients use fake photos of other good looking guys. When those photo thief fakes arrive, they expect the high hourly rate quoted even though the photos are not of who will show up for the client. Yes, "luck of the draw" so to speak. I want to recommend a video for you to watch that was produced by a physician who, himself, was nearly killed in a bizarre accident. The video is about "palliative care" which many people think is only for end-of-life patients. However, palliative care is also for patients who are working through major health issues such as you reported. If you watch the video, you will see that the physician speaker is permanently disabled because of his bizarre accident. He was not expected to live following his accident. Through many surgeries and palliative care, he recovered enough to finish college and go to medical school. He is on the faculty of a major medical school teaching palliative care skills that he helped develop. Anyone watching the video will learn that palliative care is for those who do not have a long life expectancy but also for those who have a normal life expectancy - but need health/physical therapy.
