Respectfully, your suggestion for a $1.00 value for the websites is insufficient considering the goodwill created over the years the websites have been in existence. By way of example, just since the death of the owner of the websites, more than ten thousand dollars were donated in hopes the hobby websites survive. At this time, we do not have sufficient information to know if the websites created a negative cash flow. The websites have a user following (goodwill) that took many years to develop. When the estate contracts with a competent probate attorney, I recommend that said attorney also be knowledgeable with tax law and how tax laws apply to the websites. In the future, there will be a requirement for tax returns to be filed for the websites assuming "contributions" continue to flow as they did in prior years. It does not matter what word is used for money sent to the website operators. Income is income, as previously shown in my prior post-citation related to IRS requirements. (See this citation I submitted in a prior post): https://www.creditkarma.com/tax/i/hobby-income-taxed#:~:text=The answer: You must pay,if your hobby's a business. Without contributions or fees from forum users, the site likely will not continue. If money is received from forum users, a tax return will be required to report the income. I doubt any single forum member would want to claim the websites on his or her personal income tax returns. Alternatively, some type of business must be formed to hold the websites. As Benjamin Franklin said many years ago, "in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes,” -

My message is well-intended. Respectfully, I disagree with your statement that I quoted from you above in bold. The probate court will decide if the websites are part of the estate. Even though Bill did not charge a fee for using his websites, he did accept donations from many who paid to use the sites. Not all members contributed. The donations were sufficient to keep the functioning of the websites, allowing Bill to continue his hobby. According to the Internal Revenue Code, hobby income is taxable income. It is possible that Bill reported the donations on his tax returns. Moreover, he might also have had ancillary income from the websites which he might have reported on his income tax returns. Without seeing his prior tax returns, we do not know how Bill treated the hobby income. I assume Bill did everything according to law. Knowingly leaving off the websites from the probate inventory could have very bad consequences. If the court learned of the intentional omission before closing the estate, the person appointed administrator would likely be removed and a court-appointed replacement would occur. There could be additional troubling issues. As a user of this website, I am not part of those included in "we all agree" to omit the websites from probate. Rather than furnish tax law citations, please read the below link that will give you and others an idea of how the Internal Revenue Code applies to hobbies and related income, regardless of what the income is called. https://www.creditkarma.com/tax/i/hobby-income-taxed#:~:text=The answer: You must pay,if your hobby's a business. I want very much for this website to continue. I also hope to see the transition legal. I appreciate all the hard work of those involved in salvaging the websites. Let not all the hard work be done in vain by filing a false probate inventory. A competent Nevada probate attorney can guide the process through the court. Best of luck.

? - ! The probate court will be "bothered" with any and all assets of the estate,

How did the mortuary have permission to cremate the deceased without a death certificate? Perhaps you could find their source and expedite the process of getting a certified copy. Just a well-intended suggestion.

Thanks, I learned something. I had not thought of those reasons for the ad being expired after only two days of membership.
-
Besides what is already noted by others about the photos, the escort's ad has already expired. How can this be, the ad has been opened only two days. Ad advertisement on rentmen expires in two days? Usually an ad is valid for one month. This makes me think he has been with rentmen a while under a different name.

Uh, oh! There is a new question that IRS asks on tax returns filed for 2020 in connections with cryptocurrency or virtual currency. https://www.cointracker.io/blog/irs-clarifies-cryptocurrency-question-on-form-1040 Buying this alternate cash can have some heavy-duty tax consequences. And, if you bought cryptocurrency in the past or in 2020, be sure to answer "yes" to the question asked on page 1 of Form 1040 for 2020 and later years unless the IRS removes the requirement for disclosure.

I looked at various parts of this new incarnation of the forum. Everything I looked at seems intact the way it was using the other site address. I find it astonishing that you were able to make the transition so quickly and without any apparent issues. Thank you very much. Job well done.

- @Oliver is doing us all a favor by maintaining a contact list of forum members in the event this site comes to a close. Private messages should go directly to him through this forum. It is extra work for him to check each thread to see who wants to be added to his list. If a message was sent to him, I have confidence that he is accurately maintaining a list in case one is needed.
-
Splendid, thank you. Hopefully, many more will forward their contact information to you. Those reading, please understand there is no guarantee this site will continue much longer. If you value this type of site and have not yet sent your contact data to @Oliver, I urge you to do this posthaste. If this site shuts down, other than through Oliver, there will be no way of accessing a list of like-minded forum members without a court order to access this site. Without a list of members, the type of forum, as we know it, will disappear. While it is true the court might grant permission (to whoever is appointed probate administrator) to keep this site in existence, who knows if that person will feel preserving this forum is to the advantage of anyone? The forum owner did not leave a will, or so it seems, and no relative has appeared to request court administration. Therefore, no one knows what the court will decide about the assets of the former owner or who will be appointed probate administrator. I am wondering if a new thread should be created to advise forum members to forward their contact information to @Oliver. Just a few words to the wise.

I believe the forum member, @Oliver, is maintaining a contact list of forum members, provided they send a message to him with their contact information.

NYT: "Manhattan to Stop Prosecuting Prostitution"
coriolis888 replied to + RyanDean's topic in The Lounge
Correct. Thus, the New York Times article - "Manhattan to Stop Prosecuting Prostitution, Part of Nationwide Shift" Is quite misleading. It is like clapping with one hand. Little to no effect on the overall activity of prostitution. -
Who has that misconception? If the courts allow the site to exist and if a new owner can be found and expenses are funded, the site will remain. If the foregoing is not met, the forum will slip into history.

Hooboy created a great place to share "our kind" of information. He was a decent soul. Died much too young even though he usually declined to state his age. He died of a heart attack while vacationing away from the U.S. He died quickly rather than with some awful lingering illness. He created this splendid forum and, thanks to "daddy" the site has remained all these years. Jobs well done! http://archives.starbulletin.com/2005/03/04/news/story9.html

- No, I am not assuming this site will continue. On the contrary, I suspect it will come to a close as early as this summer, short of finding personnel and funds to keep it in existence. When the estate eventually is administered and the court learns what the site is and what it does, it is possible some bigoted judge or bigoted law probate clerk may want to shut down the forum or at least the review site forum. I am hoping the site continues. It will require a lot of work and a lot of luck (and money) to keep the site alive. To start a new site is like starting a new business. Where do you think new forum participants (members) come from or how they even know there is a new forum? If or when this site closes, there will not be a forwarding message to a new site. That is not how the internet works. Like a new store or restaurant that opens, getting people familiar with a new place or facility is time-consuming and often is not successful. Optimistically, someone will come along and keep this site running. Goodwill and word-of-mouth are what kept this site alive. I suspect that many members are willing to pay a reasonable fee for continued forum access. We will just have to wait and see what the future brings for this site. Remember, nothing lasts forever. But, some things last a long time.
-
Starting a new site! Maybe not a good idea. Creating a new site with a new name likely would result in the loss of most or at least many current forum members. Changing the site is almost equivalent to changing one's telephone number. Those forum members that use the forum frequently, might learn the name of the new site. However, many forum members do not access this site frequently and would come to the site after it had been ended and then learn it had been terminated. Most forum members of this site joined the site over many years. If this site is closed and a new site is formed with a new name, how will current forum members know how to access the new site?

- As of today, he has 147 positive reviews on his RM advertisement. He must be meeting with different clients and must be making them happy to accumulate that many reviews. Maybe his busy schedule is the reason for his seeming unavailable.

If you keep these medications in the refrigerate away from getting wet, they will last longer than you expect. No need to regret making the purchase due to spoilage. I have some that I bought a few years ago and they are just fine. -

What would we say if our attorney, doctor, hairstylist et cetera charged us $300.00 hourly then asked us for Uber reimbursement? Some escorts and clients have lost focus on reality.
-
I just noticed a couple of other items that seem "off' so to speak. In addition to the escort magically aging three years in eight months (as noted above), I see that his profile says that he is from Brazil and speaks the native language there - Portuguese. That makes sense he speaks Portuguese. But, until recently, myself having lived in Brazil several years and having a lot of contact with Brazilian escorts (garotos) (lots and lots), I never saw even one Brazilian that was "cut" as this escort claims to be. This escort might be the greatest escort to visit rentmen ads, however, there are too many inconsistencies with his ad.

- In addition to being an escort, he is also a magician with respect to age.

Bernie Madoff seeks early release from prison due to terminal illness

- But, if they had chosen bad investments (instead of Madoff), they could have lost their money somewhere else unrelated to Madoff. Not all investments are profitable. - -
