  1. I had just gone through the process of logging off and on again, trying a different browser and deleting cookies when the banner that @RadioRob was working on the issue came up. Happy it was not me!!! Thanks for all the work you do.
  2. I'll throw my two cents worth in, and restate some of the ideas that were posted but disappeared in the outage, check your credit cards to see if they have zero foreign exchange fees for purchases, and if you need cash check to see what your bank does. They may have options under which you have no ATM fees. Ask them. I have an HSBC account (Everyday Global) in Australia that offers me foreign currency balances that I can add to when the exchange rate is good, and if I use an ATM in, say the US, any cash withdrawal comes from my USD balance (don't know what if any ATM fee applied). My previous bank used the interbank rate (better than any bureaux de change) for cash withdrawals, but I had to pay the $2 or $3 ATM fee.
  3. Who is he and why is he in the Sports forum? Oh, I see, he plays football. Or something.
  4. This is amazing! https://twitter.com/otiose94/status/1567790460927889410?s=20&t=nevd3cIAt6qDeJDTwwavlg
  5. Well, I've learned something new. A quick google revealed a concise definition. But ... Mod's Note: Having established that, let's steer clear of further discussion of this, or of other excursions into political content.
  6. I don't think humour has been banned. But it has changed. There was a time when no one worried if anyone was offended, they probably weren't in the room anyway and if they were, who cares, right? Different people are increasingly in the room and they do care. They might have gritted their teeth if a joke made fun of them or people like them, but they're less inclined to do so now. Even demeaning jokes can be funny (and often are) but that doesn't mean it's okay to tell such jokes about [insert group here].
  7. The odds are good!
  8. There are also German speaking Italians. The Südtiroler Volkspartei was represented in the Italian Parliament for some time.
  9. I see there's been a succession of these posts (including by me) back at least to 2009! I won't let that get in the way of another of them. Happy birthday David, 21 and some months, be still my beating heart! Always a stud.
  10. My comment was to forestall a continued discussion about airlines in general, not the discussion, including yours, about Epigonos' vacation. Sorry I didn't make that clearer. I replied to your two posts elsewhere. Here's a link so that others can still read what you had said, as I'm sure Epigonos will find it useful.
  11. Great comments. As it happened, within minutes of Epigonos mentioning it (well maybe a little longer) there was a post in the One Mile at a Time blog about United's lounges. In that, Ben rated the Polaris Lounges as the best biz class US airline lounge in the country so I'm sure Epi had a good visit to it. There may be an SQ lounge at LHR but even if it's in the same terminal as UA departures Epi may need to have UA Gold status rather than a UA J ticket to use it. I haven't flown across the pond with UA yet (mainly QF but also NZ* and AC) but as you may have noticed in things I've posted I'm more likely to try SQ or CX (which I have flown to the UK) next. (Oh, I've also flown across the Pacific on LAN [now LATAM] but not to the US, obviously!) And yes, arriving before you left (eastbound) and missing a day (westbound) takes some getting used to the first time! *It was actually TE at the time (for Tasman Empire Airways Limited, its original name) as Air New Zealand didn't change its airline code until 1990.
  12. Moderator's Note Gentlemen, let's keep this thread for Epigonos to report on his excellent adventure and for us to talk about it and display our envy. Take any further discussions about airlines, lounges and other destinations to the Travel Desk Forum.
  13. Moderator's Note Gentlemen, this thread was started to remove general discussions of escorts' appearance from a thread about one escort. There is ample scope to discuss that, although I doubt there are many thoughts that haven't already been canvassed. Stick to whether personal opinions on their appearance are useful. It's time though, to draw the line under discussing the motivations for commenting, and particularly personalising that conversation.
  14. Kristiania aka Oslo.
  15. Looks like it's AA, BA, UA or Virgin Atlantic if it's non-stop.
  16. Bon voyage, mon ami! Sounds like a great tour. I can't but agree about avoiding economy air travel if one can. Hope it's a nice airline!
  17. As your congressman, I promise to be there!
  18. Jokes aside, nothing I hope!
  19. I noticed that too in the rent.men v6.0, but for me it was random rather than replacing the text every time. It hasn't been happening for me in the Beta of v7.0. The new version also tells you the time the activity occurred (and in local time if I'm reading it correctly).
  20. So sorry to hear that it caught up with you. Get well soon!
  21. I'll show myself out ...
