  1. Someone gave up proofreading for Lent.
  2. Alec is indeed a wonder.
  3. No Rod, we don't. And I do know the difference between the two words. I was using the wrong one deliberately to pass a comment on someone who might ask the question using that word. (And as for the island comment, I seem to remember that you had said you were from an island and I threw in the names of two random islands.)
  4. @escortrod, I'm surprised no one here has asked you if you have a Scotch accent. (If they were so specific as to ask if you had a Harris or Lewis accent, then I would be impressed.)
  5. I met Tony in DC last year, only socially, nice guy. I'm sure he could be 'not a nice guy' relatively easily!
  6. Is it spring yet? https://twitter.com/i/videos/842430872431271936?embed_source=facebook
  7. My anecdote to add to this. If TB was going to be dismissive of someone it would be me. I'm far away and so far haven't offered any more than 'I'd love to meet if our schedules line up'. We've chatted and exchanged PMs for over 12 months but haven't met or even been in the same city, but he still replies to me and is unfailingly polite and engaging. I don't think I have just been lucky, more it's the measure of the man. *off soapbox* I'm looking forward to Palm Springs next month!
  8. All sorts of guys suddenly find this forum. I salute Kenny for finding us and posting his case. He has spoken to us, unlike others who just dismiss us by ignoring us.
  9. Guys like that shovelling snow in the eastern US?? Why did no-one tell me so I could be there?
  10. I wasn't trying to correct you. I knew what you meant, I was just clarifying it in case it wasn't clear to some readers.
  11. 'Cathy' is Cathay Pacific. It's a One World airline so that's useful if you are an American Airlines frequent flyer.
  12. This from 12 months ago, but it popped up again today, so ...
  13. 'With cat-like tread, upon our prey we steal, in silence dread, our cautious way we ...' Oh, wait, that's 'burglar'! [Or pirate to be precise.]
  14. Lance, I understood where you were coming from, and agree that being stiffed 100% is far worse.
  15. Lance, I don't think 'I was ripped off more than you' is the way to go. It's the fact of being stiffed, not the amount involved that rankles. I agree that Junior could have faced a worse loss. He seems, however, to have adjusted to his loss. I hope of course that he doesn't face the situations that you outlined.
  16. 'They say that we are so quick to see in others what is true of ourselves.' A perceptive comment indeed!
  17. Junior, it's sad and disappointing that this has happened to you. As this is the first time anything like it has happened in over a year of escorting, the incident is about this client, not about your business model. I won't say move on, because even one such incident can leave a bad taste in your mouth. As Smurof suggested, the client may not have realised that he shorted you, but that's likely giving him too much credit (and he did screw you around in the lead-up to the meeting). All that, and the fact that the meeting seemed like hard work, seems to be telling you he's not a client you would want to repeat. Accentuate the positive!
  18. Source (Panti Bliss): Man mistakenly takes my bag from carousel but I stop him. Another woman leans over: "He'd have got quite a shock when he opened your bag!"
  19. I'm sure any such paralysis would only be temporary!
  20. Sounds like one is what he measured and the other is what the website calculated from the length in inches that he had to post.
  21. 'I've found the most important thing on wikipedia.' Source
