  1. So these 2 moved out of Louisiana because the State passed a law banning gender-affirming care for minors? Every state in these United States is going to pass such laws. 80% + of the population is firmly against this and the opposition is virulent even in CA, NY, NJ etc. Anyone see the thousands of people protesting the Sister's of Perpetual Indulgence at Dodger stadium this past June??
  2. Outstanding! You are the best pic collector hands down @Danny-Darko All your photos are stupendous.
  3. She realized she was supposed to be offended once someone told her.
  4. You are not wrong. People just don't like hearing the quiet part out loud, especially if it goes against the grain.
  5. EXACTLY! Well said. It's an emotionally charged event. People hug and kiss total strangers in these types of situations. Look at V-E day.
  6. It will be a day of celebration when the world's “problem list” gets worked down to this crisis. Living in Spain must be close to nirvana if this gets them wrapped around the axle. The American feminist hysteria has spread all over the world.
  7. Anyone who objectively watches the video The Kiss will see that it was given in a moment of complete euphoria, in full public view, lasted one second and nothing else happened. What is wrong with people? Women, don't complain when men are no longer spontaneous and appear afraid of you. Your sisters are to blame. And when you become miserable Old Maids, well ha ha ha.
  8. Mountain out of a mole hill. How has the world come to this???
  9. Try not to let it bother too much. Believe me, when you are old and frail, no one wants to bother with you (that includes your own children). I've seen it time and time again. You are not alone in feeling this way.
  10. Use 2 factor authorization on all accounts too. I have that for my Fidelity account and also have the wire transfer feature disabled. I can enable it at any time if I need to make a wire transfer and then disable it again. Also, a bank will never call you up and ask for your account number, social security number, etc.
  11. Yes, the bank will not be responsible IF you give information or assist the scammers in accessing your money. It's called a "victim assisted scam". Here's a recent story from NJ about a woman that lost her life savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars. She had let the scammers access her computer. Woman, 81, gets scammed out of $420K. Now she may lose her home. WWW.NJ.COM After a con artist got into her computer, a lifetime of savings vanished.
  12. Indeed. Same in the USA. A cop making US$ 146,589 a year was busted at the self-service checkout for shoplifting. How amusing and embarrassing. Off-duty police sergeant charged with shoplifting from Walmart, officials say WWW.NJ.COM The Point Pleasant Borough cop was arrested in Brick on June 25, according to court records.
  13. US Treasury Bills, Notes and Bond rates for Monday, August 21, 2023 for those interested. 14. That may be true, but there are not many good narratives. Many more stores have closed than opened in SF. Whole Foods closed one of its stores because of rampant crime. Did you see the full-page ad in the Chronicle by Gump's department store?? Gump's said people are afraid to go shopping at the store and SF is becoming unlivable. Even though many areas are good, I saw on the news that the wealthy neighborhoods are hiring their own security guards for protection as the SFPD is understaffed and looks the other way at crimes being committed. This decay is going to spread throughout the city as the parasites must find new people to feed off of.
  15. I will add that many of these progressives that live in SF actually hate the high-tech industry and the people that work there. They think the city should just be composed of artisan bakeries, weed dispensaries, quaint bars, etc. SF will not change, because of the pervasive mentality of many of its residents, idealistic dreamers who have flocked here since the 1960's. The business community will not continue to put up with it and SF may actually be in a doom loop.
  16. Not as bad as you imagine. Our GDP has far surpassed the EU's and on top of that, Europe has no military muscle. Europe has fallen behind America and the gap is growing | Financial Times WWW.FT.COM From technology to energy to capital markets and universities, the EU cannot compete with the US
  17. Very true. With this market, 70% of the S&P 500's gain this year is concentrated in just 8 stocks (Amazon, Apple, Nvidia, FB, Google, Tesla, etc.) which makes for a very narrow breadth, which is not a good sign. We shall see.
  18. Yes, the big money center banks are starting to lose deposits to higher rate alternatives elsewhere but it's not a major problem for them so far. It's amazing how many people don't care if their getting 0.10% on their money. It's important to at least try to keep up with inflation, you would think.
  19. Happy Birthday and many more!
  20. That is definitely true but due process requires that these incidents be reported quickly so that evidence can be acquired and preserved. This Spacey case is decades old and are just a money grab. People will do anything for money.
  21. I said Big Mac MEAL. Things are not good as @EZEtoGRUalleges. Everything has skyrocketed the past two and 1/2 years. Millions of people are going to have their power cut off soon because they can't afford the utility bill. Wages have been stagnant and definitely not keeping up with the inflation of the past two and 1/2 years. Now car insurance and home insurance premiums are skyrocketing. It's terrible!
