I frequently experience the same feelings of despair. I've come to the conclusion that it's not so much the content of online/TV news but the constant repetition of it. The second part of it is the scope of it. There was a time when news was more locally confined, now if there is a fart anywhere in the world, it's shoved into our faces 24/7.

Granted there is a tad more reluctant tolerance, but U.S. society in general is a looooong way from treating gay people the same as everyone else. -
Some more mainstream journalism sources reporting the same issues: https://nypost.com/2025/07/24/sports/the-scandals-that-followed-hulk-hogan-after-iconic-wrestling-career/https://uk.news.yahoo.com/gawker-sex-tape-maga-turn-191701586.html? guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAANHcolhwYCacPoZnSnrGwdDhhaguPOXoVnQXdGiJEP361fU4Wk1zsaTYs-sZSJLGIP1bRkh11cXnxyrSyI31Ju9H_fLL1Eyxo5gE0V0bT1lp3Ouitg3fpbHMRs0SsoIWymhccBfpYnpvIdRwcQBi5jbtzautfIB6fFJmV4cFq3ZN https://www.newsweek.com/hulk-hogan-dead-controversy-racist-scandal-wwe-2103674 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-33657483

I recall from reading that most humans can recall every negative experience that they have had but cannot recall the last pleasant experience. After reading that I realized that I'm pretty much like that.

The U.S. bourbon and other adult beverages hard times is no surprise: "A joint press release by Spirits Canada and the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States shows that from March 5 until April 30, sales of U.S. spirits in Canada fell by 66.3 per cent compared with the same period last year." I've come across another version of the Ina Garten Olive Oil Cake that does specify EVOO. Now I'm wondering just how many Ina Gartens are out there.?. Ingredients Needed to Make Ina Garten Olive Oil Cake All-purpose flour: 2 cups. Baking powder: 1 teaspoon. Baking soda: 1/2 teaspoon. Salt: 1/2 teaspoon. Granulated sugar: 1 cup. Eggs: 3 large. Olive oil: 3/4 cup (high-quality extra virgin recommended). Whole milk or buttermilk: 3/4 cup. Lemon or orange zest: 1 tablespoon. Fresh lemon or orange juice: 2 tablespoons. Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon. Powdered sugar: For dusting (optional). Instructions to Prepare Ina Garten Olive Oil Cake Step 1: Preheat the oven Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper. Step 2: Mix the dry ingredients In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. Step 3: Prepare the wet ingredients In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes. Gradually add the olive oil while whisking continuously to create a smooth emulsion. Step 4: Combine wet and dry ingredients Add the milk (or buttermilk), citrus zest, citrus juice, and vanilla extract to the wet mixture. Stir until well combined. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients, mixing just until no lumps remain. Be careful not to overmix. Step 5: Pour and bake Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Step 6: Cool and serve Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

I'm going with regular because I believe EVOO would have been specified. Hope I'm right. 🤞

It came upon me recently. My medical advice was when sitting to elevate my feet if possible. If elevating my feet is not possible, to extend my legs enough that my knees are not creating 90 degree angles. Those two practices have worked very well for me.

I suppose it's age related, but I've never gotten comfortable with "queer" having been put into the mix.

I remember her well. A very sad turn early in her career, while she was staying at a motel in Long Island an intruder invaded her room and had his way with her. She was a long time recovering from that trauma.

Can someone please explain why when I'm photographed with friends/family in social situations, my camera image resembles a humanoid, but when I have to shell out like thirty bucks for official photos (passport photos recently), I resemble the Cryptkeeper's older sibling.
