That was an outrageous demand from someone who knows your revenue is on-the-clock dependent with no reimbursable expense account or company credit card, and he is unwilling to offer any financial considerations. If he is special to you, it may be helpful for you to make it clear to him that the revenue structures of your two professions are very different. Good luck.
