  1. I’ve noticed in many escort ads recently the escort includes a picture of himself sticking out his tongue. Not really in any kind of provocative way, just simply the way one does when a doctor says, “say ahhh.” Is this supposed to be sexy or convey something in particular? After noticing this from maybe 6 or more ads on RM I thought this forum would be the place to get an answer. What’s up with that?

    It’s flu season.

    ;)

  2. His story sounds fabricated. But it’s too early to tell what if anything really did happen. Sounds like he is trying to discredit the president. He does have a Twitter record of hating on Trump. This does not look good for him if he did make this whole thing up. He would be blacklisted.

What an assholish thing to say.

If it’s “too early to tell,” you should keep gross speculation, apparently based on nothing, to yourself.

  3. I think that happens a lot. My mom still gets Ladies Home Journal (or something like that) in the mail even though she unsubscribed years ago. I've never subscribed to the NSL and its not delivered by the Post Office. They have their own delivery network.

And come to think of it I'm still getting my monthly college alumni magazine in the mail 20 years after my "free trial subscription" ended!

Yup. Circulation size sets ad rates, so it pays to inflate circulation stats.

  4. Our local paper, The Desert Sun, is not a great paper, but it does focus on local stories, and does excellent investigative journalism, which has had some serious practical effects on local governments. It costs $67/mo for daily delivery. I would rather read it for my local news than watch the pap on local TV news stations.

How come on the web site is says $28.50 a month? You should ask about a refund!

  5. From the ad: “I am a HEALER which means I transfer energy to people’s body while I deliver an amazing massage.” lol. I love that kind of hocus-pocus talk. Energy transfer is right up there with “releasing toxins” from massage. The masseur may not know what he’s talking about, but the claim does convey a degree of enthusiasm

  6. I’m sure a professional will parse these terms in many more ways than I’m able to. But a willingness to do something doesn’t mean it’s part of your identity or life’s orientation.

I went to a Hindu wedding once. I enjoyed it. I went to be with my dear Hindu friends and celebrate the occasion. I’ve not gone back to another one. But I would if i was invited by someone I cared about or wanted to be with.

Likewise, I think that we often confuse sexual orientation with sexuality and/or sexual identity.

Good point. F*cking someone is exactly like going to a wedding.

  7. Who would want a massage from someone who cannot stand up straight? Massage photos #1 & 2, rentmen photos #3 (a repeat) and 7.

Dood looks like he’s got a turd in his shorts or his ass is trying to vacuum up cock or something. No quality masseur would exhibit those poor body mechanics.

Leaning against a railing is ‘poor body mechanics’? Yeah, I’m sure he got that body by being mechanically clueless. o_O

  8. Well, being Italian, Grigolo may indeed feel competitive with Kaufmann, I do not know, but as for Jonas, I doubt he "competes" with other world class tenors in any way, since his success is already part of operatic history

Competition is a feature of audiences—also known as fans (or fanatics)—as much as it is of performers.

    Especially at the opera.

  9. The real pieta was displayed at the 1964-1965 New York World Fair. I did not see it again in Rome.

Due respect, Avalon, the actual pieta is stunning, the fake is not

The Pieta was hilarious at the World's Fair. Surrounded by draperies of cobalt blue chiffon and celestial twinkle lights while viewers passed by on a moving sidewalk -- doesn't get more camp than that.

  10. Review: Jonas Kaufmann, Back at the Met, Is Good, Not Great

You could feel trepidation at the Metropolitan Opera on Wednesday as the audience took its seats for Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West.” The superstar tenor Jonas Kaufmann was finally returning after an absence of four and a half years, including withdrawals from two new productions conceived with him in mind. Would he actually show?

[Read our interview with Mr. Kaufmann about his return to the Met.]

He did, for the first of four performances through Oct. 27. He came, he sang, he — well, if he didn’t entirely conquer, Mr. Kaufmann certainly reminded us why he’s been missed. “Fanciulla,” a tale of hardscrabble miners during the California Gold Rush, is, I’m more convinced at each encounter, one of Puccini’s finest operas. But you need persuasive singers to plumb the depths of the music and the subtleties of the characters.

    returned earlier this month.)

testing the waters of Wagner’s Tristan — his singing seemed a little underpowered. He summoned some full-voiced, exciting high notes during the opera’s only real aria, when Johnson, who thinks he’s about to be hanged, begs the men to tell Minnie that he has been set free to lead a better life. Yet at times his voice seemed curiously restrained.

For a while, Mr. Kaufmann was hands down the most exciting tenor in opera. Now he has some younger competition, including at the Met, where the thrilling tenor Vittorio Grigolo, who stepped in when Mr. Kaufmann withdrew from a new production of Puccini’s “Tosca,” has become a house favorite.

It is, however, without a doubt great to have the compelling Mr. Kaufmann back with the company.

    La Fanciulla del West

    Continues through Oct.

I love how Tommasini ever-so-gently stokes the competitive fires between Kaufman and Vittorio Grigolo. Well done.

  11. I am quite sure you don't NEED to be purely 50/50 to be bisexual.

There is always a lean to one side or the other, in my experience.

But again...I've known MANY married "straight" men, who fool around with men on the side, yet remain married to a woman.

    They aren't "gay".

That is a fallacy that just makes the gays feel better about themselves, so they can keep up the "it's not a choice" mantra.

Sorry. It may not be a choice for many...but it is a choice for some.

    LOL!
