  1. Can you PLEASE send some of that up Portland way? July 5th is our unofficial "first day of Summer' and it's 68 degrees and about to rain, BOO!
  2. This week I was working in Missouri, and once finished the plan was to spend a couple days with a friend in southern MO before coming back to OR over the weekend. Leaving the work site, I texted my friend to check in, and found out that he was in the hospital with a broken leg, and therefore unable to entertain visiting gentlemen callers- too bad. Since I was already in central MO, I told him I'd head on down to Poplar Bluff so we could at least have a visit in person. While chatting he mentioned that the Illinois casinos were opening again, and Boxers n Briefs was due to reopen this weekend too. I said I was heading up there to fly home, and would he mind if I headed up there early and check things out, he said no ( he worked there until a year ago) so that's just what I did. I wasn't expecting to have anything open during this trip, and had some trepidation about a large indoor crowd. I decided that, since my plans were already shot, I'd play it by ear, and if it felt unsafe, I'd turn around and walk out. So, I drove out to East St Louis. First thing on my arrival, saw about 20 cars in the parking lot, a bad sign to me. Social distancing, mebbe not. Went up to the door, checking out the inside- virtually empty. Turns out there was a private swingers party going on in the curtained area next to the stage- there were only a few bar/stripper customers. Friday night cover of $10, and I'm in the door. First surprise- tho I had a mask, the manager said it was my choice to wear it or not. All the staff had masks; dancers, bartender, manager, owner. Of the half dozen customers, I was the only one masked, an the private party group had no masks also. They had rearranged the tables to provide distancing- instead of sitting up against the bar or the stage, a row of tables was placed next to the bar, and a second row of tables were set up, with chairs set at every other table- providing a comfortable distance between patrons and dancers. Under the circumstances, this seemed pretty effective at spacing, put me at ease that they had put some thought into the arrangement. Unfortunately, not sitting up at the bar means the you have to go stand in line for your drinks- a one-way maze with spacing marks on the floor to go up to the bar station to get drinks. Clear shields in the maze and at the bar kept order. However, if the place were more full, getting drinks may get problematic. As in the past, drinks are no bargain, $6.50 for a bottle of been, but there were specials listed on the bar board. I was not surprised that none of the familiar faces were dancing on Friday night. With it being first night back, there were a half-dozen dances. Talking with them, it seems most had been relatively new hires over the last winter, and laid off in March when things shut. The guys were young, thin twink types, only one being over 23 it seemed. They were expecting some returnees over the next week, but frankly the number of customers would not have supported many more dancers. As I said, twink was the word of the night, not any muscle, all Caucasian boys. The routine was unchanged- a fifteen-minute all nude dance on the bar or stage, then work the room till next time up. The lap dance areas and private room were also unchanged, except that both the dancer and client were required to be fully masked the whole time in back, and had to lather up with hand sanitizer before going back and upon leaving the booth/private room. Costs were unchanged- $75 for 15 mins lap dance, $200 for 15 mins private room. The guys - while its initially weird watching nekkid guys with their faces covered, you get used to it soon enough. You can't really get close enough to have a conversation, and the mask makes ever harder for us senior citizens, but they're to be watched and tipped, and they find a way to get a foot close enough to you to get the ones and fives in the sock. Two of the guys were standouts in my book- Liam is a blond somewhat-muscled Texan with an ass that was well-formed, and completely hairless ( yes I checked every crack and crevice ), said he'd done some porn in the past and was friends with Brent Corrigan. Interesting conversation and an inspired, athletic lap dance. It's possible he may have been working at Tin Room in Dallas in the past, he seemed oddly familiar to me. My top star of the night was Spencer, an 18 year old thin (28 inch waist) dark-haired chocolate eyed beauty. Friendly and intelligent, he made himself my favorite by remembering the points of conversation after working the room and coming back to chat me up some more. A truly inspired lap dance- I maybe fell a wee bit in lust with this charmer- but yes, he's young enough to be my grandson! There's also a curly- haired blond with a furry bubble but and biggest dick of the night, and one kid who looked to be 15 years old- I'm sure he was legal, but that was hands-off for me! I left at 11:30 - early flight and all. By then there were about 15 customers, might have had room to fit eight to ten more, that's about all. For only a days notice, this was a good experience, but since I'm no longer doing on-site training trips, I'll probably not be returning- if you're already in the area, its worth going across the river, but its not enough on its own for a destination. I wish Bob and the guys the best of luck in keeping the place open, would be a shame to lose this "asset" to the male stripper community
  3. Yes, I happened to be in Missouri for work this week and was able to checkin- new post in the topic.
  4. Not that I need to go to Vancouver BC once a month, but it kills me that i'm not ALLOWED to do so!
  5. I'm current;y on a work trip in Missouri, finalizing a major upgrade on a large fixed ops process, as the last stage of work on a federal contract. Not expecting any more work travel for the rest of my career- we've moved to a Web-based training model, and the only on-site work we'll be doing from here on out is hardware installs. My sorry old tuchus can't do that work anymore, so no more work trips-yay! The PDX-STL flight was a Southwest nonstop, about 70 passengers, plenty of space, everyone masked up. I usually fly American or Delta across country east-west, but choices are slim on the schedules, the non-stop being vital this trip. Only problem so far, just one clerk on the rental car counter in St Louis, took over 3/4 of an hour to get my rental truck. Was hoping to have a couple days of fun at the end of this job, with my favorite Boxers n Briefs dancer, but the guy is in the hospital with a broken leg- aargh! Now that I've jumped on the big bird again, planning for a fall vacation can commence- just gotta save a week for Palm Springs next spring.
  6. As much as I love my brothers and cousins, this hobby will not ever be a discussion at a family supper. Having a set of men with like-minded recreational goals, and the camaraderie I've found meeting people in this group, have proven invaluable as ever. As we all face the uncertain future of these activities, having the sounding board of friends is a comfort.
  7. One of my dear old Dad's favorite saws: "Son, ya gotta lick it before ya stick it!" - Pretty sure he was taking about the fairer sex, tho- can't picture Pops handing out advice on hamasexuel fornikashun!
  8. Ha Ha, no one wants to see what is left from my efforts at horticulture - I think I may be the only person to ever kill off a potted bamboo!
  9. Funny coincidence, while I'm working in Missouri at the end of the month, I may be partaking of a certain Ozark cutie myself! Happy hunting!
  10. You guys are correct, the use of "cheap" was not respectful on my part. However, he set his price, and I didn't bargain, never will- and I'll be paying regular price in future, I think he was just reaching out to test the market, and I was his research study!
  11. More like, the time was right AND the price was right, would not have have arranged anything yet with someone I did not already know well.
  12. I guess my own answer to this question is ... yesterday. A regular provider here in Portland, who I've been texting with fairly regularly since all this started, got ahold of me just as I finished my weekend chores. After some banter, he asked if I had any plans for the afternoon, I told him no, and he made an offer I couldn't refuse. Over the last few years, our routine has developed where we split the cost of a hotel room, and spend one or two hours, usually every few weeks or so. Unfortunately, over the holidays and new year, we hadn't been able to schedule anything, so I had only text or calls with him for the better part of a year.. So, yesterday, he offers up a hour at his place (no hotel cost) for half the usual price- he says he misses having me around, and we need to catch up in person. I've been careful about the social distancing thing, but its been three months now, and because I've known the guy so long, I wasn't embarrassed to ask about his health. He says, "all good here", so I take him up on the offer. Guess the hormones got the best of me, but , hell, three hours of good, cheap fun was greatly appreciated, and it was good to make a reconnection. I suppose, for me, the time was right.
  13. I'll be taking my first flight since February in a couple of weeks, a work trip PDX to STL. Gotta admit, I lobbied real long and hard to get out of this, but the contract has to be fulfilled by the end of the fiscal year. First time since I can remember having trepidation about travel, glad to hear about a members' pleasant experiences.
  14. Unfortunately the border has been locked down for another month now, so any tastes of the maple syrup straight from the tap is gonna have to wait a while longer.
  15. Wild whores, er, um, horses couldn't keep me away!
  16. Sorry guys, attendant gas pumpers in Oregon are gone, another victim of the "rona. Rationale is that the pumpers are in an unsafe job with no protection from the public, so now they aren't working except for one to two guys at each station, showing native Oregonians how to pump fuel. Gotta get back into the mindset from when I lived elsewhere, keeping a pair of gloves in the back of the car for the handle and data screen/card reader.
  17. I drive past the Royal Enfield dealer every week, and I swear I'm gonna stop one of these days and bring home a new bike, it's been too long since I've ridden!
  18. God save us all if the "divider-in-chief" ever becomes an authorized signer for the US Treasury!!! We'll be broke in a week
  19. Three deaths of friends and family in the last year has pushed me to get my financial and legal affairs in order, but COVID has prodded me further, to get my personal effects into a state where no one cleaning up after me must deal with , ahem, unsavory, items. My move last fall into the condo, after Therese's death, brought about the disposal of much of my old porn stash, along with 35 years of National Geographic. Last month, I sold off what was left to OldMags, raising some cash from the hundreds of copies of Handjobs that I kept. Next to go is the last old DVDs, and when Powell's Books reopens, the remainder of the John Patrick anthologies go off to be sold. Whoever has to clean up wafter me, I don't wan to embarrass them.
  20. One of the ladies strip clubs here in Portland has reopened in a large warehouse as a "drive-thru" model. Clients stay in their cars, dancers work on stages and poles next to the car door. Have to see if this is a workable model, could be interesting if you're so inclined.
  21. The low fuel light came on in my Focus yesterday- stopped at Holiday to fill up, and noted two things- my last fill up was on April 1st, so that tank lasted a month, and I paid $2.14 yesterday, compared to $2.77 a month ago. Yikes!
  22. Now if only Zuckerello's Italian on Commercial Blvd can also survive, I'll be reasonably happy my next FLA visit
