  1. Visiting Silverado this evening brought the news that the closure of the club has been cancelled- the lease cancellation threat and other issues are resolved, and the regular operation of the club is now assured. The guys are now anxiously awaiting the return of clientele to entertain. There will still be the earthquake safety upgrades the city of Portland is requiring causing a construction closure sometime in the future, but this is an issue all businesses in Portland will eventually face.

  2. Was a hundred miles down wind (northeast) when Mt. St. Helens blew in 1980. We heard the blast but it took a couple hours for the ash to make it to my city- closed up almost everything for several days. Have not experienced lava tho- a friend's parents have had to evacuate their home on the big island due to safety concerns about lava- just can't imagine that!

  3. The Fusion is the only line being discontinued which has sales volume in the top 20 here. The Focus has a restyle coming in a few months that the rest of the world will see as a 2019 model, and it was originally engineered for NHTSA regs. So,when gas hits $4.50 again, it can easily be imported from Ford's China factories. The other lines being discontinued are very low volume, Ford sells 25 Explorers for every one Taurus retail delivery- C-Max was a joke, and Fiesta is just too damn small for the US- its a top seller in Europe, with its parking hassles and $8/ gallon fuel. A damn shame to abandon the family sedan market, but the profits are in SUV and truck sales here, and the pressure is on to be profitable here to boost the share price. At least the Mustang will still be our flagbearer, and maybe the future will hold more stylish and dependable choices.

  4. My Mercedes E-class estate had a setting on the headlamp switch to leave the park lamps on on the side of the car which was away from the curb, it was to the left of the "off" setting. But, it was only park lamps, not headlamps. I think the car companies just get the cheapest parts they can, and they fail a lot faster than the old "sealed beam" glass lamps your mom's Country Squire had.

  5. At thirteen, making money with a paper route- the route manager asked me to be the collector for all the undelivered or unsold copies of the paper. When I had collected a large stash, I was to take them down to the warehouse by the train tracks, where they went into the recycler's bins. The warehouse also took all the unsold magazines from around town, including the various porn shops. Eventually, a bundle of shiny glossy mags with men on the covers "accidentally" left with me, and a porn collection was that day begun.

Movies didn't come until college days, and the VHS mail-order collection started to fill a few boxes under the bed. Finally, the DVDs took over, and now its downloaded onto the laptop- amazing how things change in one lifespan.

  6. This last summer, the smoke and heat from the forest fires all around Portland made the hot humid afternoons unbearable - we hired an ice cream truck to come by one afternoon to give all the guys in the service shop a cool refreshing treat. Cost us around $400, but everyone had a smile on their face that afternoon!

  7. One of my favorite strippers has got a bad case of back acne, to the point where I can't bring myself to touch him any longer- gives me the willies to think about one of the sores opening up between my fingers....... (shudder) guy thinks I'm just playing hard-to-get!

  8. What I find so incredibly frustrating about this is the fact that the elevator is literally two feet to the right of the escalator! If anyone from Huntleigh, or for that matter any passing traveler, had followed the woman around the corner from the B gates to the drop down to the A gates, and pointed out the elevator next to the escalator, this woman would have not become a death and the center of any controversy. We all have to take much better care of our seniors- as we all age and our society changes, we just have to be better to each other.

  9. There's a move afoot here in the state of Oregon to restrict tobacco sales to only 21 and over, whaddya think about that? Both are harmful, both need to have controls...........

  10. My experience on Saturday night confirms the previous posts, lucky to get a seat at the bar arriving at 9pm, if it been any later, wouldn't have been able to get a seat. Street parking was easy to get, but when I left around midnight, the street parking was filled for two or three blocks in each direction. I did have a squad car follow me for a bit (rental car with Penna. plates), but pulling into the gas station just across the train tracks shook Johnny Law off.

The boys dancing on the bar were of some variety, a good mix of caucasian, black and latinos- mostly young, but a few obvious veterans in the mix. Talked with several of the guys, couldn't tell if everyone was "available" but a couple of the best choices turned me down- sometimes the chips do not fall your way!! Did several privates, they all got full nude right off the bat. Some turned out worth doing a double, some not so much.

Music was what I would consider typical stripper bar mix, drinks were properly mixed and well-priced- only one bartender working, with a barback occasionally- tipping well on my first drink order saved me a lot of waiting later, I think. One of the dancers on the bar accidentally knocked my beer bottle to the floor while working his magic in my face- offered to buy me a new one, but it was virtually empty anyway, so I declined- made for an interesting private session afterwards!

Don't know if its worth a drive from NYC just for this experience, but if you find yourself with a free evening in Hartford, Albany, or the western burbs of Boston, a trip to Springfield could be worth your time.

  11. Certainly worth a visit if you've not been before - Saturday nights are generally the busiest nights, but you will have more dancers than any other night, so that is a plus. I do wish the management would get a proper website working, pictures of the boys might help answer questions about the types of entertainment on the bar. Bring lots of singles, their ATM is expensive, as are the drinks. BnB is my second favorite club, behind Swinging Richards, but its a lot more laid back vibe - I always look forward to a job assignment in St Louis or western Illinois.

  12. Last Atlanta trip I stopped by Richard's on a Friday night early, was still kinda slow, but one customer in his forties or so had brought along his mum - late sixties or so, proper Southern lady type. Was very interesting watching the dancers interact with them- he was obviously a regular, many of the boys stopped to chat and show Mom the goods. Made me think, that was pretty brave for Mom to get that deeply involved in her son's social life- there's no way I could imagine my mom going to Silverado with me on a Friday night in Portland! Has anyone else here done something similar, and how did it end up for you and your guest?

  13. After two weeks of snow and ice, all the guys at both Silverado and Stag will be happy to see ANYONE and entertain- last night I was one of only four or five brave souls to trek out for amateur night at Silverado- two newbies, from Seattle and Los Angeles- felt so bad that they had to be here in the middle of the snowstorm! Aladdin at Silverado is crazy but fun, I think Alan at Stag is due back in town from the holiday visit home. Steele and Tristan at Silverado are athletic lap dances.
