I haven't had steak tartare, but when I was a child my father would marinate flank steak in soy sauce. Before broiling with green onions, he would cut strips off and we would eat them raw. Delicious!
My friend from St. Louis who loves her "failing" neighborhood public school carries her children's birth certificates with her whenever she flies for this very reason. She's white, but her husband is black and her kids are very obviously biracial but at least superficially don't look much like her.
Hot dogs can be fun and cheap to eat, but most of them are full of preservatives. Besides, I like the taste of ground beef better than whatever is in hot dogs.
If I want preserved/smoked sausage, I'll have bratwurst or kielbasa.
