  1. My favorite kinds of ads are the ones where the pics are all over the place, i.e., in some they are ripped, others not so much, some thin, some big, in other words pics that are all over the place. Ones with facial hair, ones without. I always e-mail and ask ... which is the picture you most look like RIGHT NOW.

  2. I just met Chris Crawford in Boston. He's 40, has a great abdomen but no six pack, and is well muscled. He's a great conversationalist and, while we didn't go there, I'm sure he's a great top.

His photos range about 10 years (he dropped out in about 2006). He looks like the two where he has grey hair. The biggest difference is that his face is much more animated

with a great smile, that doesn't show through.

I would say he looks like a retired baseball pitcher (he's 6'2" and about 190). I'm not sure why I get that impression.

Review is pending. I hope to see him again in a week or two.

Thanks. Any link to "tyger" or "Chris Crawford."

  3. Don't dismiss Jon Ramsey so quickly. True, he's well past 40, but he certainly hasn't allowed himself to go to seed. He's somewhat limited in activities, but you can get that clarified in advance.

I saw him 5 years ago and he still looks great. But the pics on his website pre-date that. I asked for an updated photo and he sent me a candid and I have to say he was not as tight as before and a bit chunky if I do say so. He's a great guy but I think, for me, his time is past.

  4. I was thinking of trying something new like an escort between 40 and 50. They still need to be muscular, 6 pack but otherwise I'm open. City doesn't matter as I would fly them out to me. Anyone have any ideas? I thought of Jon Ramsey but his pics are so old (and when he sent me one I thought he no longer looked anything like he did in his pics - sorry).

    Time for something different.

  5. I'm curious: why is 1 clothed photo a warning sign?

Someone advertising as an escort and the only photo they use to sell themselves is one of them fully clothed? You do the math.

Reminds me of those guys on grindr who have no profile pic and when you ask for one it's invariably a picture of them with some chick. I always ask "which one are you?"

  6. Here in Southern California there are escorts who charge $300 and $400 per hour. There are also escorts who charge between $200 and $250. I haven't done a rate distribution analysis, but a quick scan of ads indicates the majority of escorts who list a rate charge between $200 and $275 per hour, not including multi-hour discounts.

At the risk of sounding like a picky statistics, math, language, and vocabulary wonk (which I am) you really can't extrapolate rates charged by a certain "type" across the entire population of escorts and deem it a "norm." That method could easily be used to claim $150 is the new norm if one's "type" charged $150 an hour. However, your statement would be 100% accurate if it read "Increasing number of escorts charging $300 - $400."

That's kinda what I admitted with my latest post but thank you for showing we can always count on someone being as anally-retentive as possible :)

  7. Currently 188 escorts on Rentmen in NYC with rates $250 or less. That's with Masseurs filtered out. I don't think it's a sign of escorts dropping their rates. Any time I've looked in the bigger markets there have been quite a few top notch escorts charging less than the A-List guys. I think that for many escorting is just one source of income, so they're not even charging lower rates to make it up in volume. It's often just a way of ensuring that an escort will get calls when he wants them. My favorite guys would see 2-4 clients per week. One or two guys cover the marketing costs and the rest are just extra cash. Many of these guys really enjoy a scene that's more like a spontaneous hookup with a stranger under assumed names, rather than the business of bringing an A-List persona to the otherwise undeserving.

No, I don't think $300-$400 is the norm. We've been seeing some exceptional men, or men who promote themselves as exceptional, at these rates for quite some time. They represent a tier and not a trend.

Thanks for doing the research. I think I was looking at only a certain "type" and they were all in the 300-400 range.

  8. I just did a quick survey and was very surprised to see that prices seem to have dropped in NYC. The vast majority of escorts that post rates are now under $300 including a couple of very well known names. Right now it looks like those with rates of $300 or higher are well in the minority. I am wondering if this is a delayed "rentboy" effect where skittish clients are just not hiring like they used to.

It's interesting, that in the weeks after the rent boy thing I found some escorts much more talkative and willing to "deal" and some even contacted me FIRST ... but that has tailed off again as, I suppose, they've found other outlets to advertise. But several expressed the view to me that they had less places to advertise now and were a bit concerned. Not sure how long that will continue.

For 300-400, it better be a spectacular mind-blowing experience. 250 has been my acceptable rate for many years and I've seen nothing to cause me to go higher.

  9. The "near zero inflation" is a bogus government statistic designed to make the average person, especially social security recipients accept the lack of wage/benefit increases. If you consider only the cost of things you need/use everyday (food, clothing, housing, insurance, prescription drugs) all have seen a significant increase over the last few years. Things like TV's computers, etc. and oil recently have actually dropped in price which averages out overall inflation to near zero. Inflation is also very regionally sensitive. Any who lives in or around NYC knows that the cost of housing has skyrocketed in the last few years.

The escort market is probably one of the most sensitive to supply and demand. If an escort raises his prices, demand will likely drop. However if he can make the same or more money seeing fewer clients, it works for him. If his income drops then a price adjustment may be necessary to increase demand.

Given that I am in the NYC area, I am somewhat suspicious of any escort that drops below $300 for the first hour. I have never gone above $300/hr and I do however expect multi-hour discounts somewhere in the 25o for the second hour/200 for the 3rd hour. Are my suspicions warranted?

It isn't a bogus government statistic. It's a fact which, later in your post, you actually confirm. The inflation rate is an average of all consumer goods like housing, gas, products, etc. So while some things have seen an upside many things cost considerably less which is why inflation has stayed so stable. Unlike the late 1970s, when EVERYTHING was going up at the same time. So it's not bogus, not everything is some vast conspiracy to fool you.

  10. You swim like a fish in speedos. They are as necessary a tool for efficient swimming as pedals are for biking. Wear them at any age.

Let's be honest. No one we've been discussing here or what we've been talking about here is wearing speedos for "swimming." LOL.
