Interesting, yet troubling report from Johnsons...and in line with what I experienced in Montreal last week, i.e. the caliber of the dancers is on the decline and the sustainability of these clubs is in question.   
I thought Matt would have been more successful in revitalizing Johnsons with his return.  I do like Lucas -- and hope he sticks around.  There was another bodybuilder from Argentina who was at Johnsons when I was there recently with several tats.

I was at Johnson's for three nights last weekend.  A few quick observations:
*  The music is played entirely too loud now.
*  Too many fem twink types dancing there now.  Maybe that's all they can find to dance now.
*  Lot's of chatter that Johnson's won't be around much longer.  Accurate?  Who knows?
*  None of the 10-12 newer guys were attractive or masculine IMHO.
*  Some of the long-term dancers are still good looking but it's a small group.
*  Marlon Brando look-alike (Lucas) is getting bigger and says he will do body-building competition in 2027.

In reference what is being talked about. The fog machine, lights are all programmed by a IPad. At times the IPad has a mind of its own and will release a lot of fog and mess up the lights. So I been on top of that for a month or so to make sure that the fog is working properly.  My idea of the Filthy Fridays is to bring you back to the dive bars of the seventies.  Cats, LeFlures,  Stella's and others I cant think of off hand. Those are the times when everyone smoked at the bar and the boys would hustle around the bar. It was dark and we didn't have to go out at midnight to see dancers .Most of my customers at RedEye  want it dark. I tried to make it brighter but got hollered at LOL. If you're coming to show off your jewelry or new shoes  this isn't the place for you. My two cents for those into a masculine type. 
I like a range from swimmer’s body to muscular build, and a pretty face. It’s gotten harder to ask for that without people giving looks or corrections. But I’ll keep doing it — I’m too old to hold back just because someone might judge. I’m not shaming anyone’s body; I just know what I like. I’ve wanted a hot jock for years, and I finally found my scene in escorting and stripping — and I’m still into it.
yep, male strippers scene is dying out. If Montreal, the strip club capital, is struggling, what about everywhere else? I love Montreal for the blonde Québécois guys. I still see my regulars. One of them is still dancing at Campus, last time i check, he goes by Zane, Isaac, such a short king. and super nice.

I feel like the male strip club is a dying business concept.  COVID didn't help things but the decline had already started before the pandemic.  The internet opened up the on-line escort advertising concept.  That hurt the stripping business to a certain degree.  Then the advent of sites like OF came around and hurt the stripping business even more by syphoning off some of the hottest new talent.   The quality of guys dancing at strip clubs has been in a slow decline for more than 10 years.  I was just in FTL over the weekend and spent three nights going to Johnson's.  None of the newer guys were even remotely interesting even though one of the nights there were over 40 guys dancing.  There were more fem twinks dancing at Johnson's than I had ever seen before.   Yes some of the attractive longer-term dancers are still there but some of them are pushing the envelope age-wise.  If the male strip clubs cannot attract young attractive talent, they are destined to eventually fail IMHO.  I'm not interested in going to a male strip club if there aren't hunky masculine muscle guys there.   Why would I spend money to go to a club to watch average looking fem guys dancing on-stage? 
I wonder if female strip club are suffering as well?

That tip bucket by the showers at Wet Dreams has been a venerable fixture throughout my patronage. The club itself is utterly divine, yet one does find the aggressive solicitation of tips from those dancers who can scarcely be bothered to exert themselves on the pole or beneath the shower a particular annoyance.  If they can’t be bothered to entertain, why be there?
The straight ones, however, were a particular trial. They would simply stand there, pendulously swinging their musty, dead-fish cocks, blissfully deaf to even the most civilized hints to move on.  No tip forthcoming? They invariably conclude that one simply required them to grind their wretched thingies against a patron’s fresh clothes with greater conviction.
The best dancers are always easy to spot.  Beyond their entertainment talents, they never got far in the crowds between sets and spend most of their free time in the private rooms with minimal effort... hopefully flush with tips.  Those are the ones that make me want to drop everything and head down to PV.

They've always had the large buckets on the bar for tips during the shower shows, which I regularly used.  But most other customers didn't use them.  Most dancers in the shower watched me tip into the buckets and therefore never solicited additional tips from me afterwards while they made their rounds.  Glad to hear that management is addressing the tipping dynamic, as it was overwhelming especially to new strip club patrons.

Good roster of gents, including several very appealing new gents who were lots of fun.

When I got there (earlier than usual), the ratio of gents to patrons was a bit skewed (three "dancers" to every one patron). This imbalance always brings the energy down and makes the aggressive guys even more persistent. But things were much more balanced by the time I left (around 11) and the energy was definitely picking up.

My only/main complaint? There were far fewer places to sit than usual. 

But I had a very nice time.

To be fair, it was a 9-night trip, not a week.  The 9-nights included 8 hired sessions, 6 lap dances at Spunk and BuffDaddys, and 3 free hookups.  There was to be a 9th hired session and a few more hookups, but I had to cancel...I was just too tired some nights.  I also squeezed in 5 Broadway shows and 1 Off-Broadway show, and sightseeing from the Bronx to the Battery.
Every week is not like this.  I usually only hire daily or every other day when I travel.  At home in Las Vegas I rely on a group of regular friends with benefits, and only hire once every few weeks (prices are cheaper than NYC prices, especially for massage).

OMG, I didn't realize until now that this was a list of a week's worth of adventure.  This is more jampacked than a full-time work schedule.  I get exhausted just by reading it.  Do you indulge in this kind of weeklong sexcapade frequently?    🥳

I live in NYC and pay in the same price range as you did.  On average, once a week.  Not 8 times per week.  Glad you had a good time!

How does one get on your payroll?

I’m regularly faced with a 400 or 450 ask these days. Negotiating used to work but seems like it always ends up with a “have a nice afternoon”.
Well, when you want quality, you have to pay for it.

That’s a unique disability you’ve got there. My sympathies. 

It’s actually good to see that providers are able to charge more- everything else has gotten so much more expensive and sex workers have bills to pay too. That said Ive had to curtail my hiring because of a job loss and consider myself fortunate to have several providers  ive always been extremely generous to and supportive of who have continued to charge me the rate we started with. It’s one reason I don’t often stray from my regulars. The potential new providers i hit up are all asking for more than I can (or am willing to) spend.
im a great client so my regulars appreciate me and look out for me when they can- that’s pretty much the only reason im still able to hire and haven’t had to resort to finding dick on the street or at sex parties etc

I try to hire 2-3 times weekly. My 2 weekly ones charge $350 and  $600 (and he’s worth it), respectively. New face hires charge about $400 or $500.  
My favorite is the $600 just because he’s intuitive, knows how to push my buttons and is free with his body. The $350 is very hot but less passionate, but i feel bad turning him away and the rate is quite reasonable. 
 

I’ve spent from 200 to 350 for various providers over the past year. The most expensive was a treat and the rest were regulars who make it work for me at my preferred rate usually 2 plus tip but up to 3 if they are giving me everything I want
