Palm Springs "Resorts" - CCBC? All Worlds? Others?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to NipLuvr212's topic in The Travel Desk
With gay places like these dwindling, it's a little surprising to see prices so high for meh quality. Key West now has the same issue. Two gay B&Bs left. They routinely run $400+ a night. Not worth the premium (imo). These places also are dealing with a dying audience. Young gays aren't wanting to stay at places like these and their customer base is aging out. The next decade is going to be interesting to see what happens to them. -

It's a hot look on the right guy. Wifebeaters are a staple for me. Super comfy. Cheap. Easily washed.

New season is now out, but if you haven't seen it, catch up. It's half-travelogue, half-cooking show and very funny. https://www.netflix.com/title/80146601

Red Lobster endless shrimp $20! Yay or nay?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to marylander1940's topic in The Lounge
I have so many questions. Is there a Red Lobster crustacean lounge somewhere for you high elites? Are you invited to see them catch, process and freeze their stone crab? During the Darden days, would you look down on Olive Garden diners who didn't have an elite program? Do you get the least-sad looking live lobster in the tank? I kid, I kid. But seriously, Midwesterners love seafood, but often have spotty access to it which is why RL does well in middle America. It's not great fish, but it's often times all a city/town has. RL was very, very savvy in where they built their locations. -

Re-read, slowly, what I wrote. I said what I WOULD do based on what I currently do with Grindr trade. And yes, I would if I hired. I'm 6'4", 220 and built like a fucking brick wall. No one is going to beat me up... Not easily, at least. I'm sure guys who are smaller need to make concessions when this happens. I'm just stating what I would personally do. Everything is life is AYOR.

You may have not heard of her, but she's one of the most successful and wealthy authors in the world. Schmaltz sells. Her 'Spreckles family' mansion in the middle of San Francisco is legendary. https://sf.curbed.com/2017/4/27/15457860/danielle-steel-spreckels-house-hedges

I can neither confirm nor deny any of what the op said, but I'm willing to believe anything when it's described like the McRib.

In the words of the musical Avenue Q, 'everyone's a little bit racist...' However, the United States just tends to wear it on its sleeve. Like you, it still never not shocks me to see people say such ignorant fucking things.

Seeing this tomorrow and looking very much forward to it. It's been one rave after another.

Eddie Redmyn in Revival of Cabaret
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to + WilliamM's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
I saw him do it in London. He was fine, but the production didn't bring anything new or above what the Mendes version did several years before. 1998 and 2014 were the last major NYC productions. Like Gypsy, audiences seem to like seeing this show. The shtick in this new production is 'immersion' into the actual Kit Kat Klub. -
Thank you for this detailed review. Much appreciated.

Did you tell him you were going to share this vaguely political, private conversation with a public audience?

The circle I hang with in Manhattan won't call it Geffen. It'll always be Avery Fisher. He can write a massive check for whatever he wants, but it still won't gain him entrance into old NYC.

Nothing, I repeat, nothing is like Steamworks in Chicago. At least not in the States.
