Pedantry is a trait I tend to find very attractive.

What gay saunas do you recommend in Mexico?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to Newtdad's topic in The Americas
I beg to differ. They're just not near Zona Hotelera. All in Centro. Once Once Lazer Hot Queer Bar The Back Door Hunter's (not specifically gay, but super lifestyle friendly) Vspor used to be a sex club which changed locations on a regular basis. You'd use their social media page to get emails about the next event. Acqua Spa was an all-male (for male) massage spot. Not sure if it's still going. -
I fucking love a man who knows his statistics and brings them to table.

I believe I once got this message in a fortune cookie at Jing Fong in NYC.

Boo. It's a pretty large space, so I'm wondering if they won't cut it up for the next tenant(s).

Battle Royale : Kecia Lews vs. Patti Lupone
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to Ali Gator's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
No. Not signing a Playbill with a show she has no association with. I don't blame her. It's weird. -
Battle Royale : Kecia Lews vs. Patti Lupone

Lewis thought she'd get more support if she made race the issue. She thought wrong. A lot of the Broadway community is backing away from her on this one. -
Fly into Guanajuato or Queretaro. You can then rent a car or have a car service pick you up for the hour ride.

Gonzales I like a lot, but it's the stand-by Caroline Bowman who I really want to see do this. She was the standby in the last revival of Evita (she also led the tour). Her voice is massive and I think she'd be the best singer of this role out of all three. That said, I still feel like no one sang Norma as properly or as well as Betty Buckley.

Clearly, his doctorate is in English and Linguistics

Seeing it next week and really looking forward. One of my favorite musicals. I saw the OBC, Chicago and LA companies, as well as the revival and national tours. It was really THE show that gave me a love for musical theater.

If this were 1954, I'd be really offended right now.

LITTLE VOICE (starring AbFab's Jane Horrocks)
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to samhexum's topic in Movies
LV is a great, great film. I wish I would have seen this as it's original 1992 incarnation on stage, called The Rise And Fall Of LIttle Voice. Horrocks originated the role in that too. She'll always be Bubble to me, but she's also been an incredible West End performer for decades. -
Avoid the US. I've spent multiple Thanksgivings in Mexico City, Puebla, Guanajuato, Merida and San Miguel de Allende. You don't have much holiday traffic as it's not celebrated, but you can easily find restaurants that cater to Americans who want turkey. That said, turkey is overrated. I'd rather eat great Mexican. If not MX, you also have easy access to Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver or Quebec. Doing the most un-American things on American holidays is one of my favorite things.

Better to be a just silly kid who's still learning the market than an old, bitter stalker who twists personal information to use as a weapon. -
No show should always be done in the same way, in perpetuity. Shows and concepts get dusty. Many things age strangely. I'm all for something new as long as the source material is strong to begin with. Good bones are good bones. Kaye in Sweeney was the tour of the 2005 Doyle revival with Patti LuPone and Michael Cerveris. It was brilliant, as the actors were also the musicians. At least on Broadway, it worked beautifully and the cast was talented enough to handle both jobs. While I wasn't a huge fan of the OK revival, I at least appreciated the new arrangements. The Dream Ballet, however, was fucking insane. Middle-America audiences rarely understand a radical take, which is why these tours either fail or they only opt for A-tier cities. Right now, it's been interesting to see how Shucked has totally changed their show to suit the places they're touring: Replacing their Tony Award winning trans cast member for a female and hiring Reba McEntire to do commercials, even though the show has nothing to do with her. It was a smart move for a show that lost their entire nut with the Broadway run.

Why do ppl who want "extras" prefer a massage table?
+ BenjaminNicholas replied to a topic in Questions About Hiring
If I'm getting a real massage, I want it on a table. They serve their purpose for stability and body position. Beds aren't firm enough. If I'm getting jerked off or blown by the guy, I can handle staying on the table too. It doesn't need to be all that complicated. -
I will add, it's a very American behavior to be afraid and/or intimidated by public nudity.

That's an incorrect assumption. At a serious lifting gym, most members wipe up after themselves. It's just expected.
