  1. A good businessman would.

Most escorts are not good businessmen.

You do the math from there.

It's situational to me. Being a good businessman is not a black or white thing in this industry.

For a simple one-hour meet, I don't think wasting even more time to figure out 'why' is needed. People are fickle, especially when they're thinking with their dick.

Now, if you were talking about putting together a vacation (or longer span of time together) and things went South while talking it through, yes... That might warrant a gently-worded email as to what turned him off. The same could be said if an escort had seen a client for a number of meets and was suddenly cut-off.

When you think you've done everything right and something seems to go very wrong, it never hurts to figure out why.

  2. @Benjamin_Nicholas Linda Eder is not giving much meaning to the words in "Don't Rain on My Parade," the only song of the three I heard out of town before Broadway (back in 1964). We seldom disagree, and I realize Ms. Eder would have sung the song differently if she was the original star of "Funny Girl."

Exactly. This was a concert performance. A chance for her to show off the fact that she's got at least 6 octaves at play ;)

But to be truthful, Eder was never a good actress. She colors her singing with beautiful emotion, but give her lines and it sounds as hollow as a tin can.

  3. I like Joseph. I should say that I like it the way it used to be, before they started adding endless reprises, repeats

This is a little known secret, but Joseph was actually written by Don McLean

Ah, Laurie Beechman. I never had the pleasure of seeing her live, but her YouTube videos are awesome. She had a BELT.

I did like some of the newer arrangements of Joseph in the last few West End revivals. It allowed whomever played Joseph to show off a nice pop-leaning tenor and kept things a little more exciting. Sorta like the '94 revival of Grease on Broadway: Those arrangements were just AWESOME. Sam Harris and Billy Porter shook the roof.

  4. Ah yes - but wasn't she "uniquely qualified" to bring the role to Broadway?? (Though we all knew that was really only code for "sleeping with thc composer" lol.)

Bingo. Banging Andrew-Lloyd does tend to change things a bit.

And speaking of ALW, don't throw something at me, but I've been hankering for a Joseph revival. Would love to see it modernized and cleaned up a bit. I think it's one of those ridiculously inoffensive musicals that would do well with today's Broadway ticket buyer.

  5. Michael Crawford (showing none of the singing ability he later used in "Phantom").

Some might say he never had much ability to sing in the first place. I was never a fan of his rather weak-sounding Phantom... Same goes for Brightman: She breathily warbled her way through the show and there have been a number of better-sung, more technically proficient vocalists tackle Christine.

Dolly the film was okay. It felt like a vanity project (which, let's face it, is most of what Streisand has done since hitting it big).

  6. i saw donna murphy in "passion" - for those of you know the show, you can probably understand why i have trouble imagining her as ms. levi!

Her Fosca was fantastic. Murphy had that blend of melancholy, awkwardness and bitter self-concern that made her magnetic to watch.

Trivia: The part was actually originally offered to Patti LuPone, but she turned it down for Sunset Blvd in London.

  7. LOL what is it 'bout this guy??? NOT the best looking NOT the best bod definitely NOT the biggest dick, YET there's not a PART of him you don't wanna lick and eat

I'd say you hit the nail on the head already without knowing it: He's wholesome looking, not covered in ink and has a nice smile. He looks approachable.

If an escorting character is wrapped up in having the best body or biggest dick, you're fighting a losing battle.

  8. I know this sounds insane, but an acquaintance of mine who's connected to producing the show said that Rudin had approached Nathan Lane to take on the role of Dolly at some point down the road. After thinking it out a bit, I think he could be quite endearing if he didn't mug too much through it.

I'd love to see a suitably sung black Dolly, ala Pearl Bailey. There is no shortage of amazing women who could handle that. I'd love to see Heather Headley take a crack at it.

The weak spot in the show remains David Hyde Pierce. He's wildly inconsistent with his character. Some performance I've seen he seems fully engaged with the rest of the cast and others it feels like he's doing an entirely different show. Very odd.

  9. Comparing HSV to HIV in the same class is irresponsible and downright misleading IMO. While we're at it, lets create a fake info site called "Herpes Kills Children" and spread it to all the local news agencies.

I don't believe that anyone was comparing the two directly in this thread. Perhaps confusing the two acronyms, but not comparing. I could be wrong, as the thread took an odd turn into STDs other than what the OP described.

I agree with you about singular personal responsibility, but I'm also all for being honest with yourself and not putting others at risk if you know there's an existing problem. You don't put a racehorse on the starting line when he's got a broken leg.

  10. Can't remember which is A and B

    Five (5) shots total

    Day 1 - two shots

One month later - one shot (can't remember which one)

Five months after that (total of six months later) - one shot (the other one--now done)

One month after that (total of seven months later) - one shot (now completely done)

Or to put it another way:

    May 1 - 2 shots

    June 1 - 1 shot

    Nov 1 - 1 shot

    Dec 1 - 1 shot

That's how it worked for me in 2016.

Yes, Twinrix is a 4 shot procedure: Anything less and you didn't get properly combination vaccinated.

Likely with a 2-shot schedule, it was Hep A that Latbear was inoculated against. The vaccination is called Vaqta.

  11. Really?

Do most of us even know whether we have HSV1? And, if you don't know, should you disclose that you "might?"

I presume that I have HSV1, since more than 90% of adults over 50 have been exposed to it. I've had cold sores before, but as the link I posted above states, "Oral herpes can be difficult to diagnose. Often confused with many other infections." And, STI testing protocols don't routinely test for HSV1. So, maybe I don't.

So, what, exactly, would you like me to say to potential sex partners? "By the way, I might have HSV1, but don't worry you probably do, too?" And then, watch them run? While I'm at it, should I ask them if they've had their flu shots, and whether their tetanus vaccinations are up to date? Or, if they've had a recent tuberculosis test?

Yes, some of us do know if we have HSV1: A full panel (IgG) will disclose it. As an escort, it's my job to know- with as little doubt as possible- whether I'm negative or positive for anything that I can pass onto others. If I did test positive (for anything), I would contact as many recent sexual partners as I could, to let them know what the issue was. That's being a responsible sex worker in my eyes. You might think it's overkill. If so, we can agree to disagree.

If an escort knows he's tested positive for something that could negatively affect a client, it's not unreasonable to expect him to say something or simply not take the job until the outbreak has subsided.

  12. Do not blame the escort. Why would one accept any reply as the truth? At the very least we've all been around long enough to know that a test result is only as good as one's last sexual encounter prior to the test (provided enough time has passed for a potential positive result to be detectable). Every encounter carries risk. The level of risk acceptable to you (and the level of activity in which you're willing to engage) should NOT be based on the word of a stranger, no matter how well reviewed on an anonymous web forum. Take fucking responsibility for your own god-damned actions (pun intended).

What about something like HSV1? He knows, you don't. He doesn't tell you. You can't always easily see an outbreak.

A condom doesn't prevent this... But an honest conversation might. Don't blame the escort? My ass. It takes two to tango.

I understand what you're saying personal health responsibility when it comes to anal sex or even oral sex, but just going in for a kiss? That's something a lot of guys don't think about, but probably should.
