Stritch is a legend for good reason. There never seems to be an uninteresting story involving her. Yes, she was a pain in the ass, but she earned that in a lot of ways. I had a client who was very good friends with her and we'd go visit with her at the Carlyle, sometimes having dinner and sometimes just popping in pre-performance to say hello. She was always kind to me, but she liked me. I wouldn't want to be on her bad side.

Strangely enough, it's not that London didn't laugh at it. It's that it wasn't the original Broadway company. That group was magical. Perfectly cast. London got actors who did a lot of mugging and it ruined the comedy.

Drowsy was fucking brilliant. If people don't understand pastiche, I don't want to be their friend anyway I saw that show 12 times. It was incredibly entertaining and funny.

This was really why I enjoyed the show so much.

Did you see the LA cast (2016) or the original NYC (2006)? The LA production suffered due to the casting of Rachel York and Betty Buckley. They didn't work at all. Christine Ebersole in the original, however, was transcendent. A star performance.

As others have said, it served as a lovely postcard to the area, but the film felt like one huge cliche. This is what can happen when you take a 64-page novela and try to expand it into a 2 hour film.

It depends on how willing you are to market yourself and the constant game of minimizing churn. There's a HUGE amount of turnover if you don't produce regular content. Most of what I see on OF is unoriginal and becomes repetitive very, very quickly. The key to making real money on the platform is finding a gimmick that people want to see, tweaking it slightly over time so they don't get bored and injecting a personality that viewers can latch onto. If you have the time to invest, yes, it can be rewarding. But it won't come easy.

Oh yeah... They put themselves into a hot fucking pot of water. The whole thing imploded. But politics aside, their history with production was interesting. Not always good, but they took their shot and I respect that. It reminded me of less talented Zach Scott Theatre (in Austin).
