No.  There is no reason to raise your rates once you hit $300.  It's just sex.  Nothing more, nothing less.  It literally costs the escort nothing but an hour or two of his time.  How much is enough?  You want $500, $1000/hr.  When do we, clients, say enough is enough!  When do we collectively stand up and say, "No!  I'm not paying $400 or $500!

I'm sure Telegram groups of people discussing escorts exist, but I'm not sure it'd really be drastically more or less useful than this forum though. Same thing just in a more modern "group chat" user interface compared to the "forum" interface. You could argue the Telegram group would be more focused on just discussing escorts whereas this forum has many sub-forums for non-escort related topics. Group chat interface though means there's no topics, no organization, you have to scroll through everyone's posts and side tangents, etc. 
Maybe a Telegram group could be better for discussing/sharing escorts specifically with people you know in real life who also hire and do so locally to where you are. Also could be good for discussing escorts who are operating via word of mouth only and don't advertise on RentMen and other sites. As this forum rightfully has rules against posting non-public info like social media or real names of guys if it's not specifically listed on their escort ad (we have to DM each other here for that if desired).
To @soloyo215's and @DznNYC's points too. There's privacy related things to be aware of. Telegram does have end to end encryption via a feature called Secret Chats. However, it's important to know that this is only for one on one messages, is not on by default, and you have to turn it on for each specific chat individually. Telegram groups can be closed/invite only, but Telegram groups are not secure or private or encrypted. Plenty of people take that risk with trusted groups regularly and it's fine more often than not, but Telegram groups also get leaked/exposed sometimes because a scorned member posts screenshots or because someone gets caught and investigated. And if it ever got that far, Telegram would have the full chat logs and tied directly to your phone number (which you have to provide to make an account, but you can hide your number from fellow Telegram users in favor of a screen name) to hand over if subpoenaed. Not to say this forum doesn't have similar risk, they have our emails and IP addresses. But a VPN and burner email helps with obfuscation there.

I made this amount just to tell this story because I've been sitting on it for two days. One of the most traumatizing experience in the 10 years I've been hiring. 
I used to be on this site a while ago and have just been reading reviews and not commenting on anything. Tonight I needed to get this off my chest because I was traumatized by a provider to the point where I may not want to hire again. 
I live in Cleveland, Ohio. Not many choices here. I booked this escort from the site and we decided to meet at the local bathhouse that I've never been to. I went to one a few decades ago that made me uncomfortable so I never tried to go back to one. 
I booked the provider and got to the bathhouse. We began talking and I told him I was a bit uncomfortable. He got a room the size of a closet with two benches. I asked him if we could move to a room with a bed and I should be more comfortable.   We did. I paid for the room.  $26. Not much,  no big deal.  He asks for his small fee. We agreed on $200.  I hate paying before the service but it seems like that's what providers are doing these days,  especially if you don't give them a deposit, which i didn't. We agreed that I would send it through venmo as a business transaction so if things go wrong,  I can protect myself. I would never try to reverse a payment after a booking of we already spent the time together. He agreed.
We kept talking, I kept being visibly uncomfortable. He said after all this he thinks we should call his friend to come over for a threesome. I said I'm not comfortable right now so bringing another stranger into the room would make me more so. We ended up not bringing in his friend. 
The bathhouse has strict no street clothes rules and cell phones have to stay in the locker. He had his phone,  I had mine. He had his street clothes,  mine were in my locker. This became a red flag to me. He tried to leave to smoke a cigarette right after I paid him. When he left the room I texted him saying I was uncomfortable and I wanted to leave. He came back in and said I was wasting his time. (MY time, it actually was.)
He started saying he was a police officer and his cousin downstairs was a police officer as well. This added to me being uncomfortable. I started to panic. I've never felt this way with a provider before and I was thinking of shit, what did I get myself into. I was waiting for him to show me a badge and I waited for more police to come in and arrest me for paying for sex. Nothing. I told him I wanted to go but I was scared police were downstairs. I've heard of stings and I thought this was one. More panic. He walked me downstairs and I called myself an Uber and it was the longest 8 minutes I've waited for an uber. I was super aware of my surroundings and watched to see if police were coming. I got in the Uber, terrified this was it. I ran into my apartment and called a friend, panicking that I had screwed up. 
The provider kept texting me, taunting me and I stopped engaging, took sleeping pills and went to bed. He messaged me today and I told him how I felt. And I'm not engaging with him anymore.
He had me blocked on the site so I can't leave a review. I had emailed the site and they haven't responded yet,  which is weird because in the past they would respond within 24 hours. I think hours profile should be removed. 
Do you all ever get this nervous that you may be hiring an undercover police officer? I've had some bad (and great experiences) with providers but this was the worst one I've had. I have text messages of him taunting me. I'd post them but he texted some sensitive information about me (that you can Google).

Thank you all for your feedback. I see that some people will always find fault in the client seeking a service and when it becomes (my) traumatic experience,  this wasn't the place to post it. 

As a person who has worked in sales, customer service, marketing and advertising, and a freelancer I can tell you providers are horrible at customer/client service.  Most providers think we should be messaging them and only them. As someone who likes to weigh his options, even hire multiple providers at once or even find a handful of regulars, if I ask what your profile is and you don't send me a link or tell me the name,  that tells me you really don't want to be hired.
Faceless pics? Or won't send a facepic in a way that you can view it at least once to me means chances are you're not attractive enough for the rate you're charging. 
High deposits? If I haven't seen your face Pic or great nudes either in your profile or DMs, then you're not getting a deposit. Choosing to not advertise yourself to catch the eye of the potential client tells me you want to take the deposit and not meet. This has happened to me several times where the provider would ask for a deposit and I break my rule about not providing one, and then ghost.
Telling me payment on arrival? You're not being paid to show up. You're being paid to spend at least an hour with me on activities we agree and consent to. I had providers who took the payment, got dressed, then left. Or one provider in Texas (who i see lives in miami) spent 10 minutes with me, asked for the full payment, then left. Also on this note,  I had a regular provider ask me to stay and help him because he was uncomfortable with the other provider that was hired...he also felt it was strange that provider wouldn't start the season without being paid in advance. 
Won't verify that their pictures are really them in some way?  Twice in NYC I ubered to a hotel only to find that the person answering the door wasn't the person in the pictures and when I chose not to have the appointment, they blocked the door and also invited their friend out of the bathroom trying to coerce me to pay. Or the times, twice, I was hiring for a threesome with a regular and a visiting guy and he wasnt even the person in the pictures. 
I find having a conversation on what I like, expect, etc is crucial to me weeding out the providers who want to take the money and run, or provide poor services they are getting paid for. 
What i don't think providers understand, or care about, is the clients are the ones paying your bills and buying your luxuries.  I'm finding you guys need to be better at presenting yourself to a potential client so you get them to book you. You're basically working like a car salesman. Not everyone, or maybe most people, won't buy the car. That's part of the business, like it or not.  My conversations are to avoid all of the above so I don't waste money that. 
I had a regular provider in Cleveland recently who I felt we clicked on our first meeting. We met a second time. It was great. Beginning the third time he was telling me about his sugar daddy who asked him what he needed money for and he went off on him.  His sugar daddy left him. Then as he was taking his time prepping for our appointment while I was there,  on the clock, he started getting mad that I was frustrated he wasn't already ready which turned into a conversation, no joke, about him wanting his mother to die so he can get his inheritance and if she didn't die soon enough,  he would kill her himself. He was also an animal abuser and I had saved one of his cats that he was throwing outside in the snow.  I didn't have a conversation with this provider before meeting him because you don't have many choices in Cleveland. I wish I had spent more off the clock time vetting him and nothing came up in the research, but had a few good reviews. 

Two thoughts:
First, this guy seems very unlikely to give you an experience you'll be happy with.
And second, this sounds like A LOT of pre-meeting communication. If I were this provider, I would be wondering whether you were every going to get down to business and schedule a meeting. Could that be a factor in your most recent (unsatisfying) exchange with him?

I disagree. I can't do anything with under 7.5 inches.  If I'm getting an escort who is less than that,  I negotiate how much it is to have him just put a dildo in me.

The economy is slipping into a recession.  If they keep their rates that high they will get less business.

While there is no doubt that there is a difference between ‘cost’ and ‘value’ - I have found that in most cases when cost increases, value decreases; there is no increase in quality.  In other words, just because you pay more, does not necessarily mean that you get more or even the same. Which is why I like having regulars - the cost vs value has been established and I can adjust where needed.
