  1. @RyanDean. The play runs till Jan 15, 2018. As @foxy & I mentioned, it's better than we thought. There was no line @ TKTS. Just remember, there's a separate line for "plays". Ticket cost $48.50.

It's in the loft of a small theater. Lots of stairs to climb. I was told there's an elevator. The stage is in the center, so, all seats are good. Bathrooms are in the basement. ;-)

Hope you get to see it.

  2. Has anyone seen it? Responses?

    Yes, saw it!

The 1 Act, 90 minute play starts out with 3 very handsome naked men relaxing on the bed. They've just had some great sex.

We quickly learn that Josh (an actor) and Alex (a student) are married and in an open relationship. They've invited Darius, their younger massage therapist, to join them in bed.

At first everything is cool between them but Josh and Darius continue to see each other and start falling in love.

At a surprise birthday party Alex learns that Josh is paying Darius' rent and their marriage, based on love, trust, and loyalty, starts to fall apart. In an attempt to save their marriage, Alex tells Josh to end it.

A well acted and likable cast. I enjoyed it and, yes, lots of nudity.

  3. As a kid, I always enjoyed the Christmas Show and still do today. As foxy mentioned, the Rockettes are amazing and mesmerizing. Add the organ music, the light show, the orchestra, numerous performances, and you truly have a Christmas spectacular.

Also, there's a brief 3D show that has Santa traveling around the world and landing right in front of Radio City.

The recreation of the Nativity scene still uses live animals and is done to perfection with a wonderful Christmas story.

The Rockefeller Christmas Tree is up, but has scaffolding all around it. The ice skating rink is open and the area is starting to look very festive.

  4. Looking forward to seeing it this afternoon :)!

@cany10011 What did you think of the play?

I found the dialogue between Arnold (Michael Urie) and Ma (Mercedes Ruehl) to be brilliant and mesmerizing. Drawing on your every emotion. It's plays like these that draw me to Broadway.

David (Jack DiFalco), playing the 15 yo (almost 16) old boy soon to be adopted by Arnold, is so likable and talented. Enjoyed every minute he was on stage.

The 2 hunks, Ed (Ward Horton) and Alan (Michael Rosen), were amazing in their roles and looked great in their boxers/briefs.

What can I say about the talented Laurel (Roxanna Hope Radja). What a roller-coaster role she had to play and pulled it off with such charm, humor, and class.

    Highly recommended.

  5. It's becoming a hard ticket to get as word of this new musical is spreading. The performance I saw was sold out.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thought Katrina Lenk & Tony Shalhoub were superb. Excellent cast.

One act, 95 min. Stick around after the show, you'll be entertained by the ceremonial band.

  6. Last night's episode introduced us to Jack's young grandson, Skip, who happens to be gay. When Jack's son Elliot asks "Grandpa" Jack to take Skip to his 1st Broadway show, Jack's reaction is priceless.

Guest appearances were made by Jane Lynch & Andrew Rannells. They play a married couple who run a camp that's suppose to teach kids to be straight. Good make-out scene between Will & Andrew.

A few other laughs like how one sits on a sofa can determine if you are gay but, seriously, Grace needs some better lines. Her character is getting stale.

  7. Tony winner Ben Platt, who plays Evan Hansen in the Tony winning musical Dear Evan Hansen, was very funny as Will's 23 yo date. The gay history lesson was amusing with the confusion over Stonewall & Stonehedge, plus, the old/new comparisons of coming out. Well done!

The line about "Judy Ism" was a hoot.

    Enjoyed the episode.

  8. That's an amazing cast.

On the heels of her triumphant reappearance last season on London’s West End after a 25-year absence, two-time Academy Award winner Glenda Jackson makes her long-awaited return to Broadway alongside three-time Emmy and Tony Award winner Laurie Metcalf and Tony nominee Alison Pill in the Broadway premiere of Edward Albee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, Three Tall Women. The play also won the New York Drama Critics' Circle and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Play. Two-time Tony winner Joe Mantello directs.

SYNOPSIS: Three women of different ages talk about their lives and their relationships with their families. Gradually it emerges that they may all be the same woman.

    Performances begin February 27

  9. .... Considering he's been doing this part for quite a while it's astounding he can maintain that level of intensity 8 times a week. .

@foxy, The NY Times has an excellent article on Ben Platt & how he prepares for his shows. Didn't realize he was just 23 yo. What an amazing performance he gives. He's my choice for the Tony.

When I 1st saw "Dear Evan Hansen" most of my friends had never heard of it, now everyone is talking about it & wants to see it. Same with Ben Platt. He's now a household name.

  10. Interesting fact I learned from the play. To show appreciation to the people of Gander, the US sent them a piece of the steel from the World Trade Center. Gander is the only place outside of the US that holds a piece of the WTC.

  11. Saw this new musical at the Schoenfeld Theatre. It's a 100 minute play with no intermission. It deals with the tragic events surrounding 9-11 and how 38 planes were diverted to a small airport in Gander, Newfoundland. It's a true story that deals with the passengers, some 7,000, who were stranded in Gander for 5 days and the folks who took care of them. As the planes begin to arrive there is a lot of confusion as to the steps needed to house and care for so many stranded passengers. Some remained on the planes for 28 hours with no knowledge of what was happening.

As the story unfolds, it focus on the lives of 12 passengers who cover all walks of life and how they handled these difficult days. The people of the small town of Gander graciously and generously team up to care for them. They provide meals, clothing, housing, phones, support, and entertainment.

The cast of 12 play multiple roles and do an excellent job in portraying the lives of so many. It's fast paced and makes a wonderful connection with the audience. It covers the horrific events of 9-11 in a most respectful way. Wonderful job done by the orchestra, some perform on stage with the cast. In an attempt not to leave you emotional, the band takes to the stage during the curtain call and plays upbeat traditional music from Gander.
