  2. The old adage, "You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't" best describes how I feel about moderating this site. We can't please all but like you, I, too, want to see the PR&W Forum up and running so that all members feel comfortable in posting their positions in a civil way regardless of their political persuasion. The PR&W Forum is a challenge to moderate. The majority of reports we receive deal with personal attacks. The rules are very clear about the actions moderators can take on this issue. They read: "Attacks against members will only be acted upon at the request of the member being attacked. If you submit a report because you see a violation of that rule keep in mind that the report must be submitted by the "member being attacked". Most members do not submit reports/alerts making it appear that the moderators aren't taking action or following the rules. Not so! But maybe it's time for us to revisit that rule if it helps getting the Forum back up and running. The Moderators do not discuss on the Message Board alerts received or actions taken. We also do not mention the names of members who are banned or timed out. We respect your privacy. If you want to crack down on personal attacks help us out and submit those reports. Are new Guidelines and new rules necessary to get this Forum back? Or are the current Terms and Rules sufficient? Perhaps following them is the best answer. Cooper
  3. Starting in January & making his Broadway debut, Andrew Barth Feldman, will play the part of Evan Hansen. Broadway’s hit musical “Dear Evan Hansen” has announced its new title star — and it’s 16-year-old Andrew Barth Feldman, who is much closer in age to the high school nerd at the center of the Tony Award-winning show. Feldman, a junior at Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere, New York, will take over for Taylor Trensch this January. Trensch replaced Ben Platt, who won a Tony for his performance as a high schooler who becomes an accidental social-media icon. “As a real-life high school student, I relate to the character of Evan Hansen immensely,” said Feldman, who was cast after winning the Best Actor Award at this year’s Jimmy Awards (a.k.a. the National High School Musical Theatre Awards). “Dear Evan Hansen” was a sponsor of this year’s competition.
  4. Saw King Kong and was very impressed with the huge gorilla on stage. Those puppeteers worked so hard to make Kong come to life. Reminded me of War Horse. The appeal for this show might be for a younger audience. There was a school group of 8th graders sitting in front of me. They were mesmerized by the show. First off, it's very loud. At times when over-miked Christiani Pitts (Ann Darrow) was singing it actually hurt my ears. She puts so much energy into her singing that I was waiting for a church choir to join in. There were many pluses to this show: the amazing scenery, the laser light show, the growling of Kong that vibrates throughout the theater, the orchestra, the dancing, all the special effects.... However, what was lacking was good acting, singing, memorable music, and good lines. Just wasn't up to par for Broadway but remember it's still in previews. If you decide to see it, don't sit too close to the stage and definitely avoid the front row unless you want Kong to step on you. This show is best viewed from a distance as Kong is enormous and the moving scenery, which reminded me of a 3D movie, takes up the entire stage. I was somewhat entertained by King Kong for 2hrs and 20 minutes and I did find myself laughing at times. Discounted tickets are easy to get. Purchased mine at TKTS. Thanks @foxy for your interesting and informative review. Saved me from writing about the history of King Kong!
  5. Here’s a thread about Daniel’s Husband when it played back in April 2017. https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/daniels-husband.122984/
  6. NYT said, “terrifically engaging Broadway drama starring a boy wizard.” Sounds like the line for their ads.
  7. Excellent play. Well written & acted. Tonight was it’s “Opening Night”, so, we can expect to be reading the critics reviews very soon. IMO, they should be rave reviews.
  8. Happy Birthday Steven. All the best, Cooper
  9. What has Showtime done to Shameless? @Avalon Episode 2 of the new season was another yawn. The wild & crazy Gallagher family is now a hardworking, law abiding family with each member having their own story. Frank is managing a campaign. Fiona is investing into real estate with advice from baby brother Liam. Lip is caring for a friend’s daughter, attending AA meetings, & working as a motorcycle mechanic. Ian, still off his meds & now out of jail, no longer wants to be the spokesperson for the gay Jesus movement. He definitely needs a boyfriend. Carl, still wearing his cadet’s uniform, is saving old dogs from being put-down. Has a basement full of them. Even gave a military send off to one. Boring Debs seems to be preparing for a lesbian relationship. Now, for the comic relief couple, YEA!, Kevin & V, have found a day care center for their twins. Only problem is, the center has room for just 1, however, they have a plan to fool the nuns. @g56whiz... Did I leave anything out? This used to be one of my favorite shows. Now, I watch it tapped with the remote in my hand to FF.
  10. @marylander1940. The image you were timed-out for was posted in the Kamil thread. The picture showed a comparison, one of him at 16 years old & the other at 28. The age was right on the picture. It wasn’t that he “looked underage”, he was underage. Hope this clears up any confusion. Cooper
  11. From the Terms & Rules governing this site: Rule #7. Please do not post reviews on the Message Center. The work product of the Web Site that sponsors this message center is reviews of interest to Gay and Bisexual men. The reviews are subjected to a much closer scrutiny than the Message Center postings. The determination of whether a post is a review may require a judgment call. The judgment is final and not subject to review. Submit reviews to: https://www.daddysreviews.com/submit FYI: The no posting reviews rule also applies to Grindr or any social media hookups as they, too, are a HR1865 Violation. Recently, the administrators removed a thread that contained a detailed account of a hookup & the cost involved. Please, for all our sakes, follow the Terms & Rules and keep the site safe. Thanks.
  12. Cheers to Oliver! Best wishes for a very happy birthday.
  13. @g56whiz, And that’s why God created pause & rewind. ;-)
  14. The much anticipated season premiere of Shameless was a big yawn! The Gallagher’s are out doing their own thing. Each family member has their own segment. Frank, the stud (seriously), is bedding the mothers of the PTA! Saw a bit too much of his bod in bed. Keep the sheets up. And, the sexually transmitted disease routine just went on too long. Thanks to the gay guys for providing some comic relief. Nice kiss! Fiona is all over town from trying to bail out Ian, to fixing up her building, & reading her bf’s iPhone messages, oops, dropped the phone in the toilet. She did look hot! Boring Debs is earning a living welding & wearing diapers (don’t ask)... Karl’s playing soldier while his “wife” is outside the camp’s fence playing cheerleader. We’re left to believe that one of the cadets killed her. As for Lip, his buzz cut will take some time adjusting to. Still smoking like a chimney & having one night stands. Seems to be a loser in relationships. Now, Ian’s in jail for blowing up a van. He’s organized an inmate strike trying to get the gay bottom inmates some rights against the aggressive tops. As usual, he’s off his meds & thinks he’s some chosen one to spread the word of Gay Jesus. Kevin & V, the bar owners, are busy trying to raise their 2 overactive daughters. Kevin feels that if playing fetch with dogs can tire them out, he can do the same with his daughters. Oh, btw, he keeps them caged in while at the bar. Forgot the young boys name, the one in private school. He’s seen outside the school trying to find the owners of the silverware Frank stole from the PTA moms during his conquests. Sounds exciting? Did I leave anything out? Hope the story line can pick up, if not, Season 9 will be it’s death knell.
  15. No, wasn’t aware of it. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll give it a shot... I did noticed Hjordis’ cast doesn’t include Uffe. His character in Rita made a lot of growth & I found him very funny.
  16. I agree as the action no longer focused on her family, however, we get to see how Rita became such an excellent teacher. The influence of some caring teachers who gave her encouragement & confidence was well portrayed. Also, the development of her relationship with Lea was well done. I also thought the actresses playing young Rita & Lea had a striking resemblance to their older characters. I enjoyed the very symbolic ending it had. Left you happy & with hope.
  17. Rita: Trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j95Zle1x10E
  18. I got hooked on Rita after watching the 1st episode. Rita is an excellent Dutch school teacher who loves her students but is also very complicated. She’s a hot looking sexy blond who wears the tightest fitting jeans in heels, & has the best stride on TV. She’ll also have sex with just about anyone & enjoys her cigarettes & liquor. There’s no holding back once she sees a challenge. She’s divorced & has 3 children. Two are very good looking boys. One straight & the other gay. This 5 season series with English subtitles will take you through Rita’s complex life, the highs & lows.
  19. This was my go to newspaper for topics on Gay news & entertainment . Used to always cut out the discount coupon for the Gaiety. Before the internet & sites like Grindr the Classifieds were the way to meet people. Sad to read that their on-line news will also be closing. RIP Village Voice.
  20. https://amp.cnn.com/money/2018/08/31/media/the-village-voice-shuts-down/index.html (CNNMoney)The Village Voice, the country's first alternative newsweekly which offered New Yorkers local news and classified ads for decades, will cease production and lay off approximately half its staff, the newspaper's owner announced Friday. "This is a sad day for The Village Voice and for millions of readers. The Voice has been a key element of New York City journalism and is read around the world," owner Peter Barbey said in a statement. "As the first modern alternative newspaper, it literally defined a new genre of publishing." "Although the Voice will not continue publishing, we are dedicated to ensuring that its legacy will endure to inspire more generations of readers and writers to give even more speed to those same goals," Barbey added. "We have begun working to ensure that the enormous print archive of The Village Voice is made digitally accessible.
  21. It is dubbed into English. I might have preferred sub-titles.

  23. The House Of Flowers is a new Netflix series. It’s quite good. It’s about a very likeable & good looking Mexican family that owns a very successful flower shop. It’s a crazy family that will do whatever it takes to support each other. Lots of gay, straight, & bi sex. Each of the 13 Episodes is 30 min. It was just renewed for a 2nd series. The 1st episode won me over. The House of Flowers (Spanish: La Casa de las Flores) is a Mexicancomedy-drama web television series created by Manolo Caro. It depicts a dysfunctional high-class Mexican family that owns a prestigious flower shop. The first 13-episode season was released on August 10, 2018.
  24. @sam.fitzpatrick. Congrats!
