I haven't read them in decades, but I remember the books being uneven. Dune itself is great. I remember Dune Messiah being not that great, I liked Children of Dune, and I think I abandoned the fourth book (don't even remember the name) without finishing it.

Yes, Oscar Isaac plays Duke Atreides. I watched it last night and was very impressed. So much better than the overblown David Lynch version. I'm kind of surprised they haven't confirmed there will be a part 2.

and they've moved the release up a few hours to match theaters showing it early. It'll be available on HBOMax tomorrow evening. I've got friends coming over Friday to watch a movie, I may suggest Dune as an alternative to what we've planned.
