IMHO, any recipe that lists wine as an ingredient without some indication of what type of wine is not doing its job. When I've made Julia's Beef Bourguignon, I've used a decent but not great red, per her recommendation. It really depends on what you're cooking. I used my mother's recipe for basting a turkey with a mid-grade white wine and butter. mid-grade since I have some of the wine while it's cooking. 🍷 All that said, my taste in wine is NOT expensive; I swear by ALDI's $2.99 Winking Owl.

it's usually the bathroom break for me, more so now that theaters are serving cocktails. Come to think of it, it's also the break for the refill. How do they work the theaters that bring the drinks to your seat? I've never figured that out.

Funny this popped up. I just went through a week with no internet & no TV, ATT U-Verse had a week-long downtime in our area. I re-read John Varley's Gaea trilogy (in the wrong order, since I was looking for a particular line in the last book) and his Steel Beach.

A friend requested I bring a berry pie to his Christmas Eve party, the same one I brought to a summer gathering, his partner really liked it. For the life of me I cannot remember making that pie, not to mention not finding it in my recipes file. I'm not big on making pies on general.

"Rain check" means "not now, but later" to me. If you mean a definite no with his new rates, I would've just said that.

I do have about six or seven bags of my own. I shop at ALDI whenever I can, they don't provide free bags, so I always bring them; other shopping trips, I often forget to bring my own.

A friend recommended Kim's Convenience a few days ago, and I'm already halfway through season 2. It reminds me a bit of Schitt's Creek in that it takes a while for the main characters to develop and get you to like them.

The review I heard on the radio yesterday didn't think much of the movie, but this morning's paper loved it. at 3 + hours, I may bring a blanket and a urinal to the theater.

slightly off topic, but I read a story about a gay man who wrote male-female erotica, and for some of his more explicit scenes, had to be told that women do not have prostates. 🙂
