  1. Very interesting. Thanks!
  2. Greatly enjoying the photos, but surprised how seldom I click on the links. For what's worth.....
  3. The Kennedy Center Honors for 2018 were announed yesterday for 2018. Honors in November or Dec. to Cher, Wayne Shorter, Philip Glass, Reba and "Hamilton." Until now the awards have been for live achievement, not a musical still playing, or once playing, in New York.
  4. Political, but did much more: Benjamin Franklin
  5. Many, many years ago, The Dick Cavett Show. Somehow we scored seats almost on stage. During the first commercial, Cavett told the guest that Bette Davis would be on the next show. (thanks for telling us, Mr. Cavett.)
  6. Should be seven or eight week attachment (as freshmen).
  7. Yes, many. All network talk show. I liked former Vice President Nelson Rochefeller, Jeff Bridges, Gloria Swanson, Andrew Garfield and Armie Hammer
  8. I can not count a seven or eight attachment with another freshman in college a relationship. We were not enemies yet seldom talked after the first half of the second year.
  9. VERY nice.
  10. People like you because of your loyalty and a very nice person.
  11. Far more like Streisand in concert than Garland. Garland kept it simple beccause she was usually broke.
  12. A question Ethel Merman should have been asked. (I did see Ethel on stage in a musical called "Gypsy" in 1960 and again in 1961.)
  13. About 35 over two or three years
  14. I have always driven there from Pennsylvania or suburban Boston. Very different experience. I grew up in Massachustts, but still have not seen all the Cape. So I spent about 36 hours away from Ptown.
  15. Not a fair, but I lived near a summer theater that could afford stars like Ella Fitzgerald, Anthony Perkins, Ethel Merman.
  16. It is well known Donald Trump is a terrible dancer. At the galas on January 20, 2017, his kids and their spouses joined Donald and Melania on the dance floor quickly to take attention away. I am a terrible dancer too.
  17. Alexander Hamilton Charles de Gaulle Lucille Ball
  18. Hope Mr. Roberts does well in Atlanta. Seems like a nice guy.
  19. Elaine Stritch had the lead role in the Noel Coward musical "Sail Away" in the early 1960s. Not a success, but gave her "Why Do The Wrong People Travel?" A perfect song for her, and Elaine sang it for the rest of her life."
  20. Instead she had the biggest hit of her life on Broadway and on tour, "Elaine Stritch: At Liberty" followed by a New York revival of "A Little Night Music."
  21. Words can hurt too, and longer than physical abuse.
  22. From today's NY Times: Actor Walter Pidgeon. Later Cary Grant, Spencer Tracy, Cole Porter. The late Liz Smith idendifies Kate Hepurn as a lesbian. Scotty is 95, and very much the star.
  23. Not Ella Fitzgerald?
  24. Less true now in Paris where many young people now know English.
  25. @quoththeraven, I only saw Talking Head perform once in concert. It was at the Philadelphia Zoo. It was wonderful, but years later I remember the location more.
