  1. In response to critical comment, Drew has more information in his profile here than most people. I would have like something more too. But, Drew was honest and we should appreciate it.
  2. Thanks, I know alread that my grandparent and maternal greatgrandparents were from Scotland.
  3. I belive that tattoo was later, Avalon. He was staying with his sister in New Jersey. It took me a while to call again. He had an assing ass, which I never saw again bw cell #.
  4. I still use local stores in Philadelphia. If I like a particular shirt, can go back the next day and buy several more shirts of the same brand in different colors. Colors are very important to me, and not always trust colors on line.
  5. I hired Billy Brandt years ago. He brough his girl friend. Billy left her in a nearby bar, and mostly forgot about her. He wanted talk his first video, which was filmed in Australia. To be fair, he was only 21 years old then (2000).
  6. I picked out my cat at a shelter. And at times, she 'seems' happy to have a home.
  7. Silly response. Judy at Carnegie Hall was the best selling album in the country in Fall 1961. I would have seen Harry Belafonte or a bit later Joan Baez in a similar situation. Special performers, if you like talent.
  8. How could I deny being gay when I saw Judy Garland at Boston Garden when a freshman in college. The concert sold out 14,000 seats.
  9. Thoughtful response. Thanks.
  10. Jonathan Groff played his role in 'Red" in Los Angeles. I like Groff, but Redmayne is a better actor.
  11. Perhaps because Eddie Redmayne is a more difficult name to remember immediately. I remembered the play ("Red") Eddie did in New York before his name. I do understand your point about Queen Eliz., but I would have thought about the prime minister first.
  12. A well-known writer (perhaps Edmund White) described an imaginary road trip with John Davenport a few years ago.
  13. Come on. How could you have left out Hepburn and Spencer Tracy? As well as other lesbians?
  14. Women Kate Hepburn Janet Gaynor jean Arthur Jody Foster Mary Martin
  15. The only time I saw Joey Stefano his "friends' could have been cast as extras in an episode of The Sopranos
  16. John Davenport and Mike Hensen
  17. I did live in house engulfed in trees untl age 16. Fun. I climbed every time. Two problems the trees attracted deranged hunters (mostly harmless) and hawks (dangerous to cats). Good topic.
  18. David, you made Ian happy for the rest of his life. As important, you became a member of his family. And that relationship will remain for many years. W.
  19. Very interesting. I have only visited Mexico once, but drove almost everywhere. Not sure about other people who also live on the U.S., but never think of Mexico as vacation destination. So I appreciate your very intetesting post.
  20. I had a friend who worked in Ukraine. Even with dual citizenship, he had to leave Ukraine and enter again with his other passport Thanks, good post, @Avalon.
  21. I have always remember this photo posted just two years ago by the much missed South American.
  22. Stan to Dick Cavett, "Johnny Carson came to visit me in the hospital. Gave me quite a lift." Nice gesture by Mr. Carson.
  23. Years ago elderly Groucho Marx married a young woman naned Erin. She ran his life. Erin was dislikedd by everyone, But, Erin helped Groucho thru one final, succesful appearance at Charnegie Hall - a huge success, showing how much Groucho was still loved.
  24. .I knew few of the guys before the being assigned to new barracks, especially the kid who wrote "eat me" on the cap. Sadly, we hitched into Saigon and settled for French food instead. He had never been to the Saigon zoo so did not know we had to feed the animals on our own. We had just time left in Vietnam, so we did not rent a hotel room, or see a movie. Too dangerous, and too close to finally leaving Southeast Asia. I wish I saved bis eat me cap because he left first.
  25. Dick Cavett knew Stan well, and wrote about him in "Brief Encounters."
