  1. Showers at night are also very common in the Army.
  2. I rented an apartment in Prague near the Jewish Quarter and where Kafka was born. But, I did not spend much time in the apartment becsuse Slavakia was playing in the World Cup that Summer.
  3. Agree. I was there in 1973 twice when Grace Kelly was very much alive.
  4. Nice and Monaco?
  5. More people post in the Gallery, so it adds quickly to the number of post. I seriously doubt there is much interest in having the most posts. Marylander1940 will have the most posts when he returns here soon And he is a target, but not just for most posts. I hope he post less; and I write as someone who mostly likes him.
  6. Several nude beaches in, or near, Santa Cruz, CA.
  7. When I was discharged from tbe Army, the military was not even close to being a universal - to the point that I had trouble finding friends who were even vaguely interested.
  8. Are you, or have you ever been, in the military?
  9. The Tsar's palace is now the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. That part of the city opens the bridges over all the canals during White Nights in June. I walked around that affluent neighborhood at 3 in the morning in daylight.
  10. Boys still share bedrooms and bathroom, especially in less affluent families. When I was in the Army, guys from blue-collar familier were a bit more used to sleeping naked. Interesting to know you have several sons.
  11. Showering in basic training and/or more advanced training and in war zones may not have changed at all. Not sure of military stationed in Europe because nobody seems to have posted about it in the 1960s
  12. I saw "Oh Calcutta' in early Dec. 1969. Just ok. But, I had been in the Army until June 1969, so was quite used to nudity.
  13. News: Novak Djokovic just won the US Open Tennis Turnament in New York. At smaller tournaments, the male players often shower next to the mens room. Example: tournament in Aptos near Santa Cruz, CA.
  14. Xanax is addictive, and you mentioned he was it beyond what his doctor recommended.
  15. As important, most people slowly reduce xanax, not stop all at once. Stopping all at once could end in a hospital emergency room.
  16. For me, it depends on a. what the expense is for (b) excellent prospects for additional funds in the next year or so. I am quite aware of totally unexpected (and expected) funeral costs. Costs that leave folks unable to make mortgage payments and credit csrd payments.

Given that my uncle worked on building the canal, I praise Pres. Carter for agreeing to include Panama. He had to admit that talking to Senators was not his best qualities. Instead he wrote to all 100 senators. And he asked Gerald Ford and Henry Kissinger to call. Also, his wife and Lady Bird Johnson.

@Avalon, my oldest uncle (not great uncle) worked on constucting the Panema Canels. I had no contact ever with his daughter. When my mother died in 2000, I called Helen in Canada. She wanted to buried with our grandmother. I know my mom's silbings would not have agreed but I still helped. It is never too late to connect no matter the distance.

It could be worse. My brother does not know all the names of his living first cousins. He the oldest cousin, "that woman."

You write about having very few family members other than a half sister. Here's a chance to be more friendly with a cousin.

I have several sets of twins in my family only one set look exactly the same. I am twin also, but my brother died shortly after we were born.
  22. I talk occasionally to male and female friends about guys I really liked as escorts and as people. Example: Tristan Waters.
  23. In my situation, it was really one half of a xanax.
  24. Please stop the warnings about one xanax.
