  1. Very early in QAF, Gale Harold played a straight role off-Broadway in a play called "Uncle Bob." I don't remember, Mr. Harold talking to audience members after the play. Rupert Graves has appeared on Broadway several times. Mr. Graves is usually quite willing to chat with fans after performances.
  2. Sometimes the interaction between the straight guys is interesting too. The three amigos (Malcolm, Eddie, Reynold) we're interesting. The week after his season ended, Eddie wrote on Facebook about being almost naked on national TV for most of the episodes.
  3. Christian Balic, Spain
  4. I saw Merman in Gypsy twice. The musical was written specifically for her. Ethel played Rose for two years in New York and then for at least six months on tour. The original cast album is Merman at her best vocally, but you do not get a sense of her ability as a comic or a tragic figure during Rose's Turn. I saw Daly and Peters in revivals. I suspect you had to see Merman in person to fully appreciate her, so nothing against others who played Rose.
  5. Peggy Lee could sing blues and jazz (for jazz, try her live recordings at Basin Street East in New York).
  6. Then Ethel Merman might belong on the list since Gershwin, Porter, Berlin and Sondheim wanted their lyrics to be heard before Broadway singers used mics.
  7. Have a bit of empathy for men or women who may have reacted differently (especially to a more prolonged sexual assault).
  8. I was lucky enough to see Ella Fitzgerald perform relatively often, beginning when she appeared at a local summer theater for one night around 1963. I was in college then. Her live recordings are superb, especially "Ella in Berlin," when Ella forgot the words to "Mac The Knife," and made up lyrics on the spot.
  9. In October. Surprised there are so many seats unsold.
  10. It's not at all. And sometimes you have no choice. But, I have both avoided danger and embraced it. Always playing it safe doesn't lead to much growth as a person. I am not talking about helicopters, because I enjoyed enjoyed the experiences.
  11. Yes and have many times. helicopters in the U.S. military, sometimes at night over the city of Saigon.
  12. A few months before I met him. And he is still alive. Nice twink in appearance, but a decent brain.
