    The Green Book

The Green Book and Fighting with My Family share billing where I live. So I could see both films this week.
  2. Vienna is a wonderful city for music and art, but Berlin for sex. Why only five days?
  3. @tassjunior, my dad had several heart attacks before a severe heart attack killed him at age 53. His heart disease is a heritage my brother and I live with every day You mention about not being a spring chicken and your extension sexual activity. I understand heart disease is not the killer it once was because of medical research. Still, please be careful. We may disagree often, but I was genuinely concerned about your post.
  4. If you hired the same man for over a year or longer, of course, you will know about his personal life. For example, His husband/partner may work for a fellow who is often in the news. The "gossip" is not always intentional.
  5. I remember a long dispute about an overnight cost with a young guy who once posted here frequently. Perhaps because we knew each other from here, it never got ugly. But we never reached an agreement, and I greatly regret it. You are completely right to be angry about the way you were treated.
  6. Wonderful! Lagerfeld had a huge private library that inclunded many photo and art books. So research was one secret to his success. The speculation about inheritance includes his cat and a German family (the kroenigs.) The father and the son have long been close to Lagerfeld. Over the last few years, he was seldom seen without the son there too.
  7. And Judy Garland was a gifted actress in concerts in early 1960in both arena shows or much smaller venue s.In the 1963=1964, TV series on CBS. Judy could change from a overwhelming Arlen Come Rain or Come Shine to a quiet Noel Coward If Love we're all followed by That's Entertainment dropping the mic and dancing around the stage and closing with For once in my life sitting on the edge of the stage.
  8. It is also clear the Judy Garland would have become a star in the 1950s version. Excellent post in the Pines.
  9. There is absolutely nothing to do at any of the hotels at the airport. So it depends on when your flight arrives in Philadelphia. If it is late afternoon, you will not have much time in the gay neighborhood in center City Philadelphia.
  10. He apparently died of pancreatic cancer. People have mentioned that his German accent remind them of male Marlene Dietrich. But Dietrich needed to return to Berlin to care for are ailing mother, and she was one of first people to enter Berlin. Her mother Did not live long after Marlene found her.
  11. I saw an early preview of the original production. Even at my introduction to the songs, I was enchanted.
  12. Between the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Barnes Museum, Philly is as good in post-impressist Paintings as the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg Russia.
  13. Yes, but not difficult at all
  14. I drove from southern Spain to Paris, but it was February. I liike San Remo, Monaco and especially the French Med Coast. But go just before or just after the season. I am the first so far who mentioned renting a car, or hitching a ride (both are easy and fun).
  15. Jussie on Good Morning America last week: I never said they were wearing hats in anyway related to Trump.
  16. I live in a major U.S. city too, just not Chicago. And I did not respond to @caramelsub myself. Why? Because ithings happen in big cities AND small towns that are completely unexpected.
  17. I had a wonderful meal on the road to the castle in Prague. In 2010, but I still remember, and the World Cup matches we're shown on large screens in the main square.
  18. I was in Paris for two weeks starting the day after September 11, 2001. Many people went out their way to be friendly and kind. And I had visited the city many times, before and after 9.11; young people are friendly always.
  19. Some people would put Paris ahead of Prague, including me.
  20. I like Prague as well, and visited twice. The city does not compare well with Paris or Stockholm for foodies. The OP did not mention hiring as a major priority. For hiring, I greatly prefer Berlin, a more interesting city.
  21. Exactly. And not everyone at fraternity parties is necessarily a college student; a few may be high school students visiting friends.
  22. Food mainly: Paris, Munich, Florence
  23. Writing that @FreshFluff is contributing to stigmatization of older men into younger guys is bizarre. She posted another example of KS at his worst.
  24. Stockholm is best in the summer because of nothern European winters and seasonal darkness (like St. Petersburg, Russia). So I would suggest near the of the end of lent. I usually do not buy a rail pass because it is easy to fly in Europe. The food is wonderful in Sweden. I stayed two weeks, and wished for more time.
  25. Stockholm is beautiful in the summer, and the newly revived neighborhoods are interesting, especially those close to the Baltic Sea.
