  1. I have to apologize. In several threads about Buenos Aires and Argentina, lately one started by @tristanbaldwin , I spoke negatively about the Argentinean version of these forums. I just checked them and they have been revamped. Of course it is too soon for a more knowledgeable opinion, but the first impression is good. There is, apparently, a new moderator and things seem to be well organized. Finding information about a candidate you would like to hire is quite easy. So I withdraw my previous judgement because it was outdated. If you are able to read and write in Spanish, you should definitely check it when researching a hire. Chau!
  2. I have no doubts that my status as a prolific reviewer is a significant part of my charm.

  7. Please, do not bring out of the box ideas. Asking him? How do you dare?
  8. I love it. I do not see why the guilt. Timtales is not vanilla, but it is not extreme either.
  9. Ha! You should check Black straight porn.

  11. Expect a lot of jokes with DIY funeral caskets.
  12. I have been doing stuff like that since my 20s. Perhaps I am a case of early senility. http://media.tumblr.com/ffcb3540fcb90f21072b05a0305fddc7/tumblr_inline_mqrixzQ8ZN1qz4rgp.gif
  13. Airplanes, not helicopters. Too many drugged prisoners to drop.
  14. You made me curious. I did a quick research and found out we are talking of the conventional holocaust. You probably went to the old address, apparently they just changed their location to José Hernández 1750, CABA.
  15. I am chasing for porn stars. So far I have never hit a civilian.
  16. About the Holocaust Museum, that is all after I left, so I do not have an update. Maybe a warning, so you do not get disappointed when you find it. In Argentina the word "Holocaust" has two meanings. The conventional one, referred to the Nazi crimes, is one of them. Do not expect much surprises, it is the same talking points everywhere. In Argentina we have the second jew community in the diaspora after NYC, and we were victims of two terrorist attacks in 1992 y 1994 against the Israely embassy and a Jew cultural center, respectively. So I would expect a lot of pictures and references to those two tragedies besides the well known imagery from the Nazi Germany. The second meaning refers to the genocide committed by the last military dictatorship in the second half of the 70s (the famous "desaparecidos"). If the museum you are looking for refers to our local holocaust, you may find it the most interesting. The atrocities committed by the military and their allies in the Catholic Church and the right wing parties are astonishing. And they are just a sample of what was going on throughout Latin America under the sponsorship of the CIA and the Pentagon. For any American should be an impressive learning experience. I am afraid there is a good chance the museum you are looking for is related to the Argentine Holocaust. After Macri took over all the progressive policies and programs related to Human Rights (that is how we call Civil Rights) sponsored by the Kirtchner administrations. It is possible that a Museum of the Holocaust dedicated to remember the crimes of the Argentine Right was defunded and closed. But I am just guessing. This whole post is a bunch of guesses.
  17. I am flattered. I guess you are crossing to Colonia del Sacramento. You must visit the old city, with the ruins of the old military fort. I have been there about 20 years ago, so I am confident the place is very changed, it was a trendy, raising touristic destination back in my time. A quite, small village turning into town. I would just walk around enjoying the colonial architecture still left. In Uuguay, you must try one of the best sandwiches in the Milky Way: el chivito. Order it with a fried egg instead of hard eggs. http://www.epicurean.com/featured/images/chivito.gif
  18. Yes, sir. Bolivia and Paraguay are our main source of immigrants. They are in Buenos Aires, if you go to the poor barrios and the villas miseria.
  19. I always thought I would recommend him in the escorts section, but I was wrong. Read my post on Lee. A funny note that @BabyBoomer and @FreshFluff will love. I asked Lee to bring different outfits to try for the pictures. He made a little pile of underwear in the futon. Browny got crazy. Apparently Lee's smell is like catnip for her. You should see her twisting around the tongs.
  20. As you said, I would not take wikipedia seriously. A number between 500.000 and 1 million is like a huge range to compare to other Irish communities. But anyway, perhaps it is right. It would be great if it is true, and perhaps it is.
  21. The Patagonia is full of small European communities from Wales, Switzerland, Ireland, England, Scotland, and Germany. I guess weather and landscape are alike. In the Northwest you have Lebanese and other Middle Eastern countries (again, landscape?). In the Northeast you have Germans and Jews. Argentina's Jew population is the second one of the diaspora after NYC's. But most of the population is mestizo, mixed of Spaniard and original people.
  22. Well, we have immigrants from all over the world, and also from Ireland, although I do not know whether I would qualify it as "sizable".
  23. I also think I would go for #1, but I disagree with those saying that otherwise you would be betraying your regular guy. You have not contacted him or make any appointment. He did, and it is perfectly fine to tell a regular "sorry, I am busy this time". If you are really, really, attracted and curious to the new one, may be you should try to contact him using some other mean. You mention you texted him. Have you tried contacting him through his ad, if he has any? Maybe something is wrong with his phone number and perhaps he forgot about you, as I think most guys are not used to make arrangements so early as you do. If you have an alternative contact way besides his number, try it before responding to your regular boy. Otherwise, it is #1. Good luck!
  24. I am glad you found the right quote, but I doubt it is Borges'. Of course I may be wrong. Be careful to make generalizations about Argentina from Buenos Aires. If you go inside the country, specially the Northwest and the Northeast, you will find darker complexions, mixed with the original peoples.
