Welcome to speculative "investing" Greg! I prefer the ETF. Way easier to navigate as an "investment" than the actual "currency" and yes, I generally believe it's a speculative bubble, but we've done incredibly well off all the "gold rush" speculators.

Mocha, allow me to add something from the client perspective:

    - if you look at many many escort ads, certainly the lion's share of Backpage and Adam4Adam, they say "same day appointments only" or "don't contact me if you are not ready to play" or something to that effect. I have tried from time to time to make some advanced arrangements with those guys, and i get shot down. So us consumers can find it difficult to know which way to go.

    - If a sudden window opens in my schedule (my plans fall through and suddenly I am free tonight and feeling horny) would you rather that I not contact you, even when your rentmen ad says "available now"? Should I assume that "available now" does not mean that you are available now?

    - sometimes my plans change in the other direction - I thought I would be free, or I didn't know I would catch a cold or that a blizzard would strike. I have been occasionally treated rudely by guys I have cancelled on (giving as much notice as possible) because of changing circumstances. It's like the advanced plan commits me by contract.

    - As to why we use email rather than phone: I may be showing my age, but to me email is somehow less intrusive and interrupting than a phone call. If you are, indeed, on line and "available now" it is reasonable to assume that you will read your email. If you are in the middle of a meal or a workout or an appointment, i assume you won't read your email (and therefore are unlikely to be "available now.")

None of that excuses people who just stop communicating. But I hope the above offers some perspective you didn't have.

I used to work with guys who were suffering from addiction. Recent true story. I was pulling in to the drive-in window of a fast food place when a former client came rushing up to my car window:

Him: Could you please give me a couple of dollars?
Me: Tim (not his real name), what do you need the money for?
    Him: I'm hungry. I haven't eaten in a while.
(I pull out my wallet and Tim sees that I have quite a few dollars)
Him: Could I have five dollars?
Me: I tell you what, Tim. I will pull my car over and park and we will both go in and I will buy you whatever food you want. No limit. Or, I will just give you a dollar.
    Him: I'll take the dollar.
    I gave him a dollar.

Most of societies' "charity" money is shovelled over to bankers and hedge funders through tax breaks and loops holes, leaving the rest of us strapped. People on the street are a result of this and a blip on the financial radar

I used to go to Santo Domingo all the time

    1. I would avoid it, you will be putting an extra target on your back.

    2. Santo Domingo isn’t really a masseur kind of country but I would recommend Juan Bin Bin (google Juan Bin Bin Santo Domingo), but it’s more of a brothel. I’ve met some great guys there, but before going to DR please expect to see mostly black guys who are a bit ghetto (an understatement) but very hung. Also please don’t expect this to be like Brazil, very different country.

    3. Don’t know what to say here, the thing is that the Dominican Republic is full of hustlers do research here, people will try to get you anyways especially if you are white or an obvious foreigner. It’s a very poor country and everyone wants to make money. I suggest that you contact Adam suites hotel and see if the owner Gilber would be willing to do tours. He’s a Cuban American who owns the only gay property in the DR and he does tours for money for his guests. If you contact him he might be willing to do a tour for money even if you aren’t staying there.

    4. Yes in the DR it’s okay to wear a speedo to the beach.

    5. I think you should evaluate why you want to go. If you are going for purely sex I’d say stick with Santo Domingo if you are going for purely and to relax and have a good time in a resort I’d say yes to Punta Cana. Sadly the gay scene is non existent in Punta Cana unless you spark a deal with a hotel employee (which is rare) and if you stay in Santo Domingo you can kiss luxury goodbye lol

    6. I barely speak Spanish and I’m always fine in Santo Domingo. But why the Caribbean? And you don’t have many other options other than Puerto Rico which is having issues now. The rest of the Caribbean are mainly homophobic countries and in some like Jamaica homosexual activity is illegal.

I’d suggest you try mexico in North America or anywhere in South America if you’re looking for Latinos in particular. The Caribbean is very religious and strict with gay laws with the exception of Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Haiti.

A Single Man (2010). With terrific acting from Colin Firth - and beautiful Nicholas Hoult as every gay man's dream college groupie. Based on a novel by Christopher Isherwood it portrays one day (November 30, 1962) in the life of a college professor (George) who has recently lost his longtime partner and is contemplating suicide. And whenever I'm having one of those crappy days I remind myself of what George tells himself on November 30, 1962: "Just get through the goddamn day."

I just spent a very enjoyable 3 hours with Johnny and he looks exactly like his RM profile pictures and is a sweetheart. The pics span a period of 2-3 years and right now he has shoulder length slightly-curly brown hair.

Frankly, I think he's freaking gorgeous and have been wanting to meet him for a couple of years. We're expecting our first child in January

I agree that your eyes are the key to picking up strangers. The scenario, from my experience, usually goes like this: your eyes to other guy's eyes; your eyes to other guy's crotch; your eyes to other guy's eyes. Maybe a smile. If he's in the game he will usually make a quick and somewhat ambiguous touch to his package. If he gives no sign or looks away, move on. Has worked for me since LBJ was president though, since George Bush Original, the "ambiguous touches" are getting less frequent.
