bigvalboy reacted to + azdr0710 in Payment in advance
Milo...This has been much-discussed here in the forum for years. You should already know it's a no-go. There may be a few tiptop providers who are reliable and will come through, but, wait, even a few of those have no-showed, too, after receiving a deposit!!
I can understand frustrated providers trying the deposit remedy after six client cancellations in a row, but it's part of the business and savvy clients should resist advance deposits

bigvalboy reacted to jjkrkwood in Anybody still go to gay bars?
I just think when you get older, at least for me, I just enjoy the peace and quiet of just staying home in my adjustable bed and catching up on my ON Demand TV shows. I also think, at least for me it has to do with a decreased libido, as I was tested for low T, and never followed up with treatment because I had the 2 surgeries pending.... I am lucky that I have a great sex club where I live, that if I do feel the urge. I just go, pay my $17 and get off.... That usually will last me for the month.

Well well well, the only American based airline without a Max in their line-up is doing quite well:

Delta Air Lines Inc. raised its profit outlook for this year, as strong travel demand and the diminished capacity of competitors with grounded Boeing Co. 737 MAX jets buoyed the third-biggest U.S. carrier.
The first major U.S. airline to report earnings for the recently ended quarter said revenue rose 8.7% from a year ago to a record $12.5 billion. Unit revenue, a closely watched measure of how much airlines earn for each seat flown a mile, rose 3.8%.

Hey Mo Mason...I just got an alert that you "liked" one of my posts from Sept 2017. I had to go back and re-read the thread to refresh my memory. Quite nice to see that you have worked through everything and are doing so much better. Kudos to you and to Lewis. Dogs have a way of keeping everything in perspective. I've done a couple of dog rescues, and I'm never sure who rescues who. Your post gave me a smile today...
All the best

Boeing Co. Sunday lost a deal for 737 MAX jetliners in one of the first tangible signs the crisis around the plane could shift business to European rival Airbus EADSY -1.30% SE.
Saudi Arabia’s flyadeal Sunday said it would buy up to 50 Airbus A320neo planes, the direct rival to Boeing’s MAX that has been idled globally in the wake of two crashes within less than five months.
The deal between the discount arm of flag carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines Corp., or Saudia, has a value of more than $5.5 billion, based on Airbus list prices that don’t include industry-standard discounts.

And when is your namesake gonna fly again Maxi?
Update:
“If this plane doesn’t start flying again before Christmas, it could start to get very ugly for Boeing in terms of order cancellations,” one aviation expert said.

Yup.
Boeing's employee parking lot is packed with grounded 737 Max jets, .
Boeing has lost more than $1 billion throughout the 737 Max debacle, according to the company's most recent earnings report.
And storing those planes is yet another hit to the embattled plane maker's bottom line. It costs some $2,000 a month per plane, Bloomberg reported.
Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories.
Boeing has struggled to manage its supply of 737 Max jets months after the fallout from two fatal crashes involving the planes in October and March.
And now Boeing has had to crowd its employee parking lots with some undelivered planes,

'Sully' Sullenberger says he struggled to recover Boeing 737 MAX in flight simulation
Washington (CNN)The pilot who orchestrated the dramatic plane landing in the Hudson River 10 years ago told a congressional panel Wednesday that he can "see how crews could have run out of time" during the recent Boeing 737 MAX crashes after he struggled to recover the plane in a simulator running recreations of the doomed flights.
"I recently experienced all these warnings in a 737 MAX flight simulator during recreations of the accident flights. Even knowing what was going to happen, I could see how crews could have run out of time before they could have solved the problems. Prior to these accidents, I think it is unlikely that any US airline pilots were confronted with this scenario in simulator training," Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger told the House Transportation Committee during a hearing on the embattled plane model.

I'll be alone each and every night
While you're away don't forget to write
See you in September
See you when the summer's through
Here we are saying goodbye at the station
Summer vacation is taking you away
Counting the days 'til I'll be with you
Counting the hours and the minutes, too.... Max!

June 9 (Reuters) - American Airlines Group Inc said Sunday it is extending cancellations of about 115 daily flights into September due to the grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX.
The largest U.S. airline had previously said it was canceling flights Aug. 19 after the Boeing Co plane was grounded worldwide in March following two deadly crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia.
American Airlines said Sunday it is extending those cancellations through Sept. 3. Boeing has yet to complete a certification test flight and formally submit its software upgrade and training changes to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for approval.
