I too am in the SoCal area. Yes, there are flakes. Maybe because I’ve been on so long my sixth sense has gotten really keen…the percentage of SA contacts I move on to directly conversing with via text and/or messengers has dropped dramatically from when I first started with seeking. The percentage of those that I actually arrange to meet, also is low. No, as mentioned above I’ve gotten much more selective about who I’m comfortable taking the next step with. Lots of experiences, none dangerous/bad but some sad/frustrating.

Similar to the two days of surfing lessons I arranged in San Diego for a Midwestern young man I’ve recently met on Seeking. He too is about the travel, new experiences, etc. It’s not a transactional arrangement, he’s a student…we meet when we can and enjoy our time together. Don’t sweat it, go with the flow! It’s working…. There are some on this forum who bash these Seeking posts on occasion. I’m a big fan of Seeking, but as I’ve said before it takes time and patience. Sometimes a lot. I messaged with the young man mentioned above almost 18 months before we met…bit of an outside exception due to Covid restrictions, but makes my “be patient” point.

I think I’ll stop on my way home tomorrow 😉 I like their chipotle tri-tip too.

No, FloMax is not the latest RM provider posting fake pics 🤣 Rather it’s a prescription drug for helping urination. Prostate cancer is not an issue right now with a recent PSA test and finger probing tests. Slightly enlarged, but soft. But my balder isn’t voiding 100% of its urine, ultrasound revealed about 15-20% urine remains for a later attempt. This morning the doc prescribed it for me, I have not started it. Just curious if anyone is on it, has tried it? I have one close friend say “once you start it you can never stop it“? I’ve also heard one side effect is stronger erections 😈 , even priapism? Reading this topic I’m curious….isn’t paying up front something that should be handled and discussed in the pre-meet discussions? Or are we talking about two issues: deposit paid before meet? being surprise on arrival when provider asks for payment on arrival? I’m opposed to both. I will often leave the allowance in plain sight on provider’s arrival, as others have mentioned before.

Re: pics…I have pics in my profile but no clear/unblurred face pic, my profile says I’ll send face on request. And I do, often in my first hello message. But, since I’m a paying user I can use the 10 second single view option for my photo, a’la Snapchat. Satisfies 99.99% of pic requests, if they - complain I’m usually suspicious and block ‘em.

Both comments ring so true with me, dovetail my experiences. I’ve found that taking things slow and showing patience (something not popular on Grindr) yield good results for me. Re:numbers game, it’s like a batting average…but if you don’t swing the bat you don’t get a chance at a home run. Both for gen and just for fun I still have sporadic luck on Grindr.
