  1. I’m in the “coach is ok” - it’s usually a fraction of a great trip, plenty of suggestions above for making yourself comfortable, bringing along entertainment, I often bring my own food/snacks, etc.
  2. But it’s available now...I just got rated on a closed thread....I agree it shouldn’t be allowed.
  3. See, you did exactly what I predicted!
  4. I’m not feeling a lot of open mindedness on the topic from @JTtorretto on this topic...but this book describes a humane way of raising beef. Yeah...you have to slaughter them before you eat them...no way around that! But as outlined in this book the way the beef are raised, treated, fed, and slaughtered are indeed out of the mainstream. FYI the book is Co-written by founders of Crowd Cow an online source of craft/artisan beef I’ve bought from frequently over the last few years.

  6. There are other reverse image search platforms out there if you do a little checking around. Take a look at Tineye for one.
  7. I’m sure we can search the Internet and find many horrible slaughterhouse stories, photos, and maybe even videos. However, there is also a new movement towards non-commodity “craft beef“ and other animal husbandry trends, which treat the animal more as individuals, healthier feeding (not feedlots), grass and grains grown directly on the ranch, free range pastures, no hormones or drugs, and in fact the route to slaughter is fairly peaceful, done individually, and there is no “screaming“. Of course, this sort of beef and protein is necessarily more expensive.
  8. @Gar1eth posting here over 15 years @ParkLaneDallas posting here like the last 12 hours. Who has the credibility?
  9. I did mention...
  10. I’ll marinate and grill portobellos along with other veggies for a nice meatless grilled dinner. Nice meat substitute, although cut up and sautéed they make a great accompanying dish TO steak!
  11. Agree...I didn’t really pay attention to the lean/fat mix in the example, my bad. But, a lot of health conscious food DO buy 90/10 ground beef....so if they think a Beyond or Impossible product is “healthier” they are in for a surprise. This might be more realistic RE: calories and fat...sodium still a serious Beyond issue:
  12. Great question...often ignored in the hype...
  13. Try this for crumble/crisp Doesn’t specifically mention strawberries but I add them in. And this for strawberry rhubarb pie
  14. In one form or another, it’s here to stay.
  15. That would foil help any image search. But why post any pics/links from people in your life that aren’t associated with this hobby, the purpose of this board? I was cyber threatened to be “outed” about my visits here about 15 years ago, due to this type of posting. A handful of you extra-long-timers know about this,
  16. Wow. Why not?
  17. Discretion? Privacy? Future image searches leading here...
  18. I sure hope no one I know posts pictures of me on this site...and pictures of my room mates or friends. Wow...
  19. Any pie I make! LOL I can make them all...I’m partial to fruit pies, rhubarb, don’t like strawberry “pie” but I do like mixing strawberries into the rhubarb then being able to cut back on the sugar a bit. Chickens and turkey pot pies as well! My favorite go to pie crust comes from these guys...enjoy the “pie candy” in the link Piefolk
  20. @oldNbusted nails it....I was mesmerized by the film. Watched at home on Netflix, only minor gripe was personal...I had to divide then 3 hr 29 min into two watching windows Wednesday. Amazing film, the special on Netflix after with Scorsese/Pacino/Deniro/Pesci is worth the watch. Amazing chemistry among the four, and some interesting insights into a couple of the technical aspects of making the film.
