I read in the NYT today that as a result of Nicole Simpson’s death many improvements were made in California and other jurisdictions to deal with spousal abuse and intimate partner violence. Reviewing the case and its particulars I don’t think Maureen Dowd got it right by comparing it to Othello. This was more than jealousy, it was about a person with controlling behaviour and a penchant for violence. Here in Canada some jurisdictions are declaring domestic violence an epidemic. Whether that will lead to better outcomes remains to be seen. It is a daunting task to control someone’s behavior when they show a willingness to kill their spouses and then themselves. There is little that can deter that kind of behavior imo.

I hadn’t realized until now that O.J. and I were the same age. And while prostate cancer got him in the end, it hit me at 59 and I beat it. Back at the time of the trial, I had a young roommate who was an escort and looked after my dog when I was travelling on business, which was a monthly occurrence. I remember on the day of the verdict, we were watching it live on TV and he bet me O.J. would get off. I was in disbelief when the verdict came down. Later I realized I was basing my judgement from the vantage point of my privileged white upper economic and social status. People who felt oppressed by the system didn’t see things the same way. My roommate was a good looking kid in his early 20’s who was learning how to exploit the system despite his lack of education and other advantages. He moved out when he found an elderly sugar daddy to move in with and he no longer had to pay rent to me.

If a provider appears prudish during conversations in whatever media I use to contact them, that ends the discussions right there. If I wanted a date with a prude, I would go to a church social. Not that I have anything against the latter, which I can enjoy on its own terms ( for instance the food offered is usually quite good).

As a bottom I like Swiss Silicone. It comes in a pump bottle which is a bit of a pain in luggage so I wrap it in a facecloth in case of some minor leakage. Some say silicone lubes stain bed linen so I place a towel down on the bed. Even for incalls where I will bring one with me.

5 minutes to total eclipse.

I might have my sun downer cocktail early today. Just a thought. Lol

It’s 3:07 and now half the sun has disappeared.

It’s 3pm now and the sun just peaked out from the clouds. A one third crescent has been taken out of the sun.

It’s another half hour till total eclipse. But the clouds are thickening fast .

I can now see a bite out of the lower right side of the sun. Hasn’t impacted the ambient light yet. It’s 2:39 edt.

I am sitting in my back yard and the solar eclipse has just started. I live in a zone of 100 percent coverage so in an hour from now will see full eclipse. That is, if the clouds don’t move in first. They are approaching from the west so will be a race against time.

I would settle for gift coupons from RM for my fave providers.

Interesting. The video seemed to be a recording of two different occasions as Bette had two different hair styles, the first one being her frizzy “do” and the second her hair pulled back tight at the back. In the first she was constantly playing with her hair. She thanked the two guys at the end of the film by name but I didn’t catch Barry. I thought it was another name. I’ll have to recheck.
